Jax, Ragatha and Caine really parallel each other in episode 5. Each of them have insecurities and weaknesses that hinder them from growth.

Jax is always acting like a jerk which is why everyone, except Pomni, hates him and is why he’s not able to make a connection.

Ragatha always feels the need to be perfect thanks to her mother which suppresses her authentic self and emotions which hinders her chances of forming a bond with anyone.

And with Caine, he is so afraid of people not liking his adventures that he’d rather stop using the suggestion box rather than accept their criticism (like he said earlier in the episode) and use their ideas to inspire adventures that everyone will like. But in doing so is why no one in the circus respects him

A headcanon of mine for Ragatha since the beginning of the show was that she preferred dressing in a more masculine way, especially when everyone was drawing her as Jessica Rabbit and Amanda said that they though she would want to dress more like Roger.

And with the new episode, it made me think; what if Ragatha was more into masculine hobbies but her mother never allowed her to? Maybe she wanted to join a softball team as a kid but her mother never wanted her to because it wasn't 'ladylike'.

And so that's why her design is a doll, and why some of her outfits are dresses. A ragdoll forced to be perfect but the pressure is making her become undone at the seams.

so, on first viewing of episode 5, it kinda seemed to me that whenever ragatha mentioned jax's friend (currently being called ribbit by the fandom?), he would instantly just... get completely silent, and get an almost vacant look in his eyes, and that sort of read to me like dissociation. so, i have this small headcanon that he sometimes ends up in the hallway with ribbit's door, and just kinda... sits there
