When people say that a lot of people don't view arabs as "humans", they don't often mean it as arabs (and other oppressed groups) lacking sapience; There are so many ways dehumanisation can manifest- mystifying a group of people as more than capable & hypercompetent - a threat- is a core tenet of orientalism. Racism against Black americans often happen this way- transmisogyny happens this way- that marginalized people are stronger, better, smarter- more manipulative, able to overpower- a form of "othering" that leads to a predetermined conclusion that "the other" must be neutralized. This is why when news articles are published on IDF soldiers being traumatized by their actions- the brutal ways in which they eradicate Palestinians- the only "trigger warning" is "suicide ideation".
