Well you see with manga and anime, just like literally any other form of media on the planet, if you want good trans representation you actually need to find stuff written by trans people or at the very least people who deeply care about us.

this isn't like...unique to things that come from Japan. it's not a uniquely transmisogynistic country or medium, people are just generally transmisogynistic, a lot of media is going to be transmisogynistic. you don't need to come up with some ridiculous claim about "the nature of gender in japan" or something to explain why there's transmisogyny in media (or god forbid justify it as a totally distinct unique cultural thing).

idk why anime written by cis people makes one countries cartoons evil but (for example) Powerpuff girls doesn't.
