At any other point in time, Clair would be scrambling to prove herself against Lance. This time, though, things are a little different. She’s standing with her left hand bandaged, hiding the massive gash on her palm that was closed the night before.

Training had definitely been...interesting in the past few days.

Clair is trying (and failing) to hide her utter humiliation at making a mistake that’s costing her the use of her hand for a time.
