Today we’re trying something new, a night market at Lucid Winery in Sacramento, CA put on by SacGeeks. It’s the Geek Pride Night Market - Summer of Superheroes Edition! The winery owner hosts many local events out of his storefront, and I hope the evening goes great with many new people getting introduced to both the Dragon Child comic and my handmade dragons! You can see me making a few puppets on the backside of the divider of stacked wine barrels.

What do you all think? I think I might be done with this cover. The biggest changes were to add more shadows and rough up the grass and bushes in the background. I like it. It sparks joy.

When I make the covers for Dragon Child I vector them out in Illustrator. This lets me quickly swap out things like color, but also gets very tedious when it comes to background details like bushes and grass. Last night I had saved it with the sky background, and almost immediately knew I had to swap that out for a field of grass and more bushes. I just blocked out the colors, and I already like it a lot more. So much detailed work to do, but it will be worth it. Am I crazy? Do you agree with the change?

Cinder has been adopted! It has been a puppet crazy weekend at Silver Age Comic Con, and it makes me so happy to see how excited these kids are to play with their new buddies. Cinder is now the most popular puppet.

Ready for day two of Silver Age Comic Con in Reno, NV! My dragon tree is looking a bit sparce, because yesterday was great with lots of comic and puppet sales. Here’s to today being even better! Last day of BayCon, and my dragon tree is looking pretty bare. Many of my handmade dragons have been adopted, and my comic has found new readers. It has been a great holiday weekend, and we’re in the final stretch. You have until 3pm to peruse the Vender Hall in the Santa Clara Marriott before it closes for another year.

Day 2 of BayCon/Westercon ‘25, and we’re already off to a good start. So fun to be back sharing my comic with this good group of fantasy/sci-fi book lovers. The vender hall is open to the public for free if you would like to get some of my comics or adopt one of my handmade dragons.
