After making the dragon wag its tail, I decided to make it wink its eye. It makes the dragon more cute and happier-looking. I made this just for fun as I wanted to see what it would look like.

After getting feedback from other people, they said to make a GIF where the dragon tail is wagging. This what kids like to look at and watch. So by having this feedback it has had a positive effect on my computer animation skills and on my blog.

As I saved this GIF onto my iPad, the colours changed and I don’t know why but this showed a different way of having my dragon as a GIF 

I used Adobe Draw on my iPad to draw the dragon in two stages to make it animated. To make the GIF, I used GIF maker on my iPad.

My backgrounds

This is me making a star background and now I am going know going to add colour to it to make it for kids because kids love colourful things.

To me this is too colourful and bright so I am going to look at using less colour.

I didn’t use this one because it has got too much blue it so I am going to use lees blue.

This is too bright so this could hurt someone’s eyes so I am going to make one not as bright.

I am going to use this as my background on my final piece because it looks just right.

This is going to be used because the purple galaxies work well as the background of the head and feet of the dragon. I have used the clipping tool for this.

This is a little bit too colourful so I will not use it on my final piece.

This was a test and I like the way it has turn out because I look like the dragon is shining the a star in the night sky. I feel like this is something that kids word like, because it is bright, colourful and it move a little bit.

I love this one because it is so cute and I like the way it shine. the best part has to be the background because it makes the dragon and the poster stand out more. This is something that a kid would like because of the bright colours and it is colourful. So I have kept on looking back on who I am doing this of and why?

This looks cool but I don’t think it is for kids because it’s not that colourful, and the dragon look like it is fading into the background. But this was a test and I am very happy with the way it has turn out. The best part is the colours because they work so well together.

This one was supposed to be a GIF but it would not move so I have to make as a video that kept repeating it self. It still looks cool but I wish it was a GIF.

Evaluating my final piece

I have used formal

     line – different shape and size of line.

      Tone – different tone of lines and colours.

      colour – dark colours but more bright colours that kids like.

     Shape – different shape like, the shape of the dragon.

The materials I have used are card A2 size and I have used Photoshop and illustrator. why I have used them because poster are about A2 size so you can see the image on the wall.

Card because it is hard so the poster will be strong.

 Did they work successfully?

Yes because it links to my target audience and it has turn out the way I want it to. I think next time think more on how it will look went I print out big.

 The meaning and messages for just a poster for a kid. It was just for kids to like and have it on one of their bedroom wall.

I did this because this is something I am hope to do as a job

I am very with my final piece. To me the best part is, the dragon because it just looks so cute and I love the colour.

There is one thing that I would change and that is how I looks like printed big. Because it looks a little bit pixel. so this has help me on, thinking about of it would look printed. So I don’t make the same mistake again.

I didn’t like the first final piece so I change it. By making my own star galaxy for the background and a different one for the dragon head and feet, and using a different dragon.

I am very pleased with my final piece. To me the best part is, the dragon because it just looks so cute and I love the way it looks with my  star galaxy background. The new dragon to me looks a lot more cuter and that make it more suitable for my target audience.

Because of the problem with the printing it on a2 size I have made sue that I don’t make the same mistake on this one. By making so that when I created on Photoshop I set the canvas as a2 size.

Evaluating my books and blog

The name of the project is Dragon Flight. The theme of this project is dragons. My idea has developed to decide on the style of the dragon, fonts, colours and the lay out of the poster. The materials I have used are clay, Plasticine and paper. I don’t think I could have done more because I am happy with what I have done.

I have a book for research book, a book of my ideas and developed work in a different book and all of what I done and  research is all in my book.

My work has developed during the project because I kept on thinking about my target audience. So I was thinking about what kids are into. I used different programs to see which one was the best one to use in my final piece. I change the layout of the poster and the colours. I changed the background because of the layout of the poster. I have drawn different dragons and used them in my poster ideas.  I asked different people their view on my work to help me. Then I changed my idea with the help of people's views.

 I have looked at mythical creature names; I have looked at some mythical creatures like Cerberus.  I looked at what we see dragons to be and a little bit about their history. I have looked a film with dragons in them, Eragon, how to train your dragon, the Last Unicorn, Disney dragons, Kung Fu Panda, Dragonheart, the last Dragonslayer and Harry Potter dragons. I have looked at TV shows, including How to Train your Dragon and Game of Thrones. I looked at games with dragons in them; Skyrim, the Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Dragon City, Dragon Age, and How to Train Your Dragon.

 Artists I have looked at, James Wolf, Michael Whelan, Todd Lockwood and Sandara. All of the artists that I have looked at uses Photoshop and Illustrator. They are Illustrator artists and that is what I am hoping to be in the future.

Books I have looked at, The Book of Beasts, Temeraire, and The Last Dragon Chronicles.  

I looked at dragon-like creatures that are real; Draco Volans, Komodo dragon, xendermus (dragon snake) and bearded dragons. I have looked at the year of the dragons, cartoon dragons, anime dragons, Chinese dragons, Western dragons, clay and plasticine dragons.

By looking at these it has helped me see how different people see dragons and the shapes of dragons. Now I know how I am going to create my dragon.

My skills developed during this project. I know this because I can use clay, Plasticine, Photoshop and illustrator, better now. This project has made me think more, so now I kept thinking about whether it links together. I kept thinking does it fit in with my target audience and would they like it and what they like. I know I asked a lot of different people about their view on my work and how I can make it better.

I would have liked to have more time to play around with clay and plasticine more, because I feel like I was getting better at making dragons out of them. However I am happy with what I have done. I am going to use clay and plasticine in future projects.

I very much enjoyed this project because it was about dragons and I love dragons. I feel this was my best project because I did a lot of research and had a lot of different ideas and developed them.  

I am going to use the skills that I have learnt in this project in future projects. I feel very pleased with myself because I feel and I can see I am getting better with my art. My mum and her friend Debbie have both said to me that throughout this project, we can see how much you have improved and your skills in learning and getting better with your art work. Hearing that helped me do more work and make me feel happy with myself.  

My blog has more research on it and more ideas which are further developed, because I did not have a lot of printer ink. So that is why my idea book is not full.

I have change the background to find the best on for my final piece. Me mum and Paul like the last one, so I am going to use that has my final pieces. I am looking at what size I am going to uses. I think he size I am going to use is 2A or 1A because they are the size of posters, I have looked at.

I have pick this as my final piece because I love the colours and it fits with my target audience, because the dragon is drawn in cartoon style. Bight and colourful. I am going to have this poster A2 or A1 size so you can see it. I am now going to change the lay out of the poster to, change it from landscape to portrait. because you find a lot of poster a portrait.

This is me adding some effects to my final piece but I think, the way the dragon looks is to scary so i am noting to uses it as my final piece. But I do like the layout of the second one. So I am going to uses that layout without the glow effect on the dragon.
