I think So Joon’s feelings are very interesting. I mean, it’s clear that he has feelings for Ma Rin. The scene in front of the restaurant was enough to prove that for me because there’s no way he could fake the way he looked at her and the gentle and loving touches, it was so genuine. But during the wedding scene and the scenes after, we see him seeming less than enthusiastic about his married life and I think the drama did a good job of explaining why earlier in the episode.

The moment that stood out to me was when Ma Rin asked him if he loved her. To her, him saying he’ll die without marrying her probably seemed so romantic and like a confession of love. But to him, it was truthful and practical. And I think that scene really highlighted his actions at the end up the episode. He has not fallen in love with Ma Rin yet. Yes, he has feelings for her. Yes, he’s attracted to her. Yes, he’s infatuated with her. But he’s not in love with her yet.

He rushed the marriage mainly to save Ma Rin (and himself). And we can clearly see the reality of that hit him when they’re walking back down the aisle after the ceremony. He finally realizes this won’t just be a convenient partnership like he thought, marriage is so much more complicated and he’s realizing that.

I also think that the writers and producers purposely made this whole wedding process a whirlwind of scenes in the last 15 minutes of the episode to highlight how rushed everything is.

I don’t think that his feelings for Ma Rin are fake but it’s clear they’re not as deep as the feelings Ma Rin has developed for him. And I also think that he hasn’t separated his feelings for her from his desire for the two of them to live. I think it will be really interesting to see him fall in love with her now as the drama develops and I’m honestly looking forward to how this romance grows.
