You didn't see it while it happened. It's why she had made the switch. Everyone thought she was mad. She had two boys to support, but how could she make her boys proud at a job where 'do you have insurance?' decided if you got the care you needed. She had to make a change, but she still had that desire. The desire to help people and to go where she was needed.

She felt the vibration in her pocket. Taking the phone out of her pocket, she quickly placed it on the table. Ty was sending her selfies again, all from Issac's phone. She had managed to get lucky. Finding a guy who seemed to just click with her whole family, who was okay with her workaholic lifestyle? Sometimes she thought it must be all a dream? How did she get so lucky. She looked back up at his words. ❛ Sorry, my youngest is at the phase in his life, when he must share every single thing he does.... ❜ a nod at his words. ❛ So, we hope for the best and prepare for the worst? ❜

❛ I used to love fireworks, and then they became an omen. My bet is that we will get to sit down at 6am tomorrow morning.... ❜

Still she quickly sent Ty, Marcus and Issac a goodnight message. If the chaos started early, she wanted to make sure they knew just how much she missed them, every single day she had work. She had grown up with a working parents too, and knew how much of a toll it could have on a child.

❛ and we'll be up any minute ❜ She could hear the loud bang of one of the fireworks. the universe had literally just given them a warning shot.

History is written by survivors. She wasn’t wrong in that aspect. The world was practically built on those who had survived through things others wouldn’t be able to handle. Loss, grief, pain, sadness. It all had a place in forming the world as they knew it. One could wonder what the history books would say about the world over the last few years. Would it reflect the things they had been through? The state of the world? The build off of fear of the unknown? History would always change from the facts depending on who was writing the narrative. 

A gentle chuckle, that curved the very edges of his lips into a smile. “Feeling philosophical today?”

he questions, knowing that the quiet of the day was just a precursor for a typical friday night in the city of angels. Bobby knew, the sun was setting and the city would start to come alive. The day had been warm, too warm to be out in about. The typical cases of heat exhaustion had come in throughout the day, but the night meant a whole other set of cases. 

Part of the job. 

“There’s a festival going live in a few hours. It’s supposed to be a peaceful show, a new artist is using downtown for their first public debut.” It meant they needed to be on standby, with the cooling off of the day, temperatures were still high. Large crowds only made it worse. The fireworks could be seen from the open 118 ports, burn ordinances were and place and had been since the temperatures began to rise. 

Someone was going to get in trouble for it, it also meant there was now risk for anything to go wrong. “If this turns out how I think it will, there will be another story to be written by survivors.”

❛ Well, from what i've heard they're rather evenly matched, but, my loyalty is to the Orville, so I have to say ed.... Captain Mercer. ❜ the crew of the Orville was far more of a family than she had ever experienced on another ship. ❛ I've also heard it seems to be our ships in the entire galaxy which seem to attract trouble so... they both have that too. ❜ while she was joking, the USS Orville and USS Enterprise did seem to end up in the most danger.

"WHO DO YOU THINK is going to win?" Sulu stage whispers to Dr. Finn, trying to keep the amusement off his face. He's betting on Jim. Jim always wins. Even in death, he wins. But this other Captain, well, Sulu thinks maybe they could give Kirk a run for his money. @drcfinn

❛ We did meet one Kaylon with emotions, as the Kaylon can feel pain, if altered they can feel emotions, but Issac is not able to. ❜ She remembered that brief moment he could. All the things he said - how much he professed his love. It had been magical and perfect, but it had been artificial. Ironically, she had always been trying to justify their relationship by thinking about how Issac clearly could be 'fond' of her children, or feel hatred from the crew, so surely his love was real? She had come to peace with it. Her eyes looked at the sparks and noted it, to keep an eye out in case of something more serious. ❛ Issac and I have our own version of love. He once called me out of work, played my favourite song, programmed it to rain, and confessed that me breaking up with him was the only time he committed an error, and that he never wants to be with errors. It was also in his wedding vows. It might not be Shakespeare but ... he is perfect just the way he is.... Are you sure you're okay? ❜

"All vital systems are functioning. There is minor damage to a a select number of subsystems but nothing beyond repair." He tested out a human phrase, "I have had worse." Under normal circumstances, he would have immediately pardoned himself to go and 'tinker' with said systems until all was in working order, but instead gold eyes fixed on her and he leaned forward slightly. This movement caused several damaged circuits to spark and set off damage warnings, but he ignored them.

"Yes, I have been following news of the contact with the Kaylon very closely, and was aware that one had served upon a human vessel, however... I was of the understanding that the Kaylon share a similar lack of... emotional capacity to myself. Therefore, I had not expected to hear that one had married a human, as... love is generally considered a component of a successful marriage."

Claire was closer to Kelly than her own sister back on Earth. Scanner moved to detect if there was anything more than just the superficial wound, any internal bleeding. she noted @thecavclry response, ❛ it's a bad wound. ❜ an understatement if the doctor had heard one before. The dermoscanner, running over the skin to heal the smaller wounds. ❛ I can see that. What happened? Is everyone else okay? ❜ she trusted the rest of her team to deal with the others, but she needed Kelly to keep on talking. Emotions can happen later, the panic, the sadness, they could all wait till after.

claire's family defo don't support claire marrying issac, based on the fact that claire didn't even invite her sister and instead asked Kelly to be her maid of honor, even Kelly is like: what about your sister?

i love claire but how she spoke to ed in the first episode, unnecessary (still one of my FAVOURITE scenes but - the plantary union is such a mixture of people taking things seriously and then the orville - which makes for great tv - but for writing? difficult. )

once the exam season is over I will be streaming the orville so we can all love on claire and gordon and john and ed and kelly and bortus and topa and marcus and finn and yaphit and issac and alana and talla etc because they all deserve it.
