Eden & A Certain Bad Habit
As with all beings, Eden is far from being perfect. He's picked up on some bad habits, some that extend back to his time as a Saint, others more recently. One such relatively recent development is his smoking habit.
He is not a habitual smoker by any means and is always conscientious of when he does smoke. If there are children, pregnant women, or even someone that he knows dislikes it around, he refuses to do it. He also is very aware of where he is when doing so. Around hospitals, medical clinics, schools, and other such locations, he refuses to do so on principle. He typically only smokes when he’s especially stressed, as an attempt to take the edge off.
He usually smokes traditional cigarettes, though there are also times where he may use a tobacco pipe. It really just really depends on what he’s feeling or what's available to him at the time. The pipe, for example, only typically sees use when he's at home or nearby, as he often does not take it when he is out. He’s usually got one of the two and lighter of some kind on his person at any given time.
All that said, he is capable of giving it up, especially if it is for the sake of any child in his care. The well-being of those reliant upon him will always trump anything he may get out of the habit that even Eden admits is a flaw. He just hasn't had a compelling enough reason to quit, thus, he is still in possession of this habit of his.

On Being a Construct
By all appearances, Lysander, on a biological level, is nearly indistinguishable from an ordinary mortal. He is capable of being injured and bleeding in the same ways a human would. He possesses the normal processes like breathing and blinking, despite not needing them. These small nuances effectively remove him from the uncanny and into the ordinary. Despite all of this, every biological component of his is artificial, something made by the one that saw to his creation. Where the source of these biological machinations originate are unknown to him, but he doesn’t think too much on that. He is made with a certain purpose, one that he is happy to fulfill, one he will keep as a secret most guarded.
Where his body may be artificial, his soul is not. There is a time before that he does not remember well, but he knows even in his first encounter with the Voidweaver he already existed. Then comes after, the soul as it is now. He had been something else, someone else, or perhaps many things or persons once, but now, he is simply Lysander. A creature forged through a kaleidoscopic array of splinters, an artificially constructed biological entity with an ancient soul.

Eden & His Motorcycle.
Eden's primary mode of transport is his motorcycle (at least, in verses where this is applicable). It is also his preferred method of transportation. He very much enjoys it, including the process of doing maintenance on it. He always wears a helmet as he's aware of the potential danger and risk of injury. It's a mode of transportation that leaves him a bit more vulnerable than others, so he likes to be as careful as possible. He would rather not worry those that care about him.
He's also very much the type to take others on rides simply because he can and because he wishes to spend time with the other. It holds true primarily for friends and romantic partners, though he's been known to also help strangers out as well. Because of this tendency, he carries an extra helmet with him. Yet in the events where he doesn't have one, he's going to insist that whoever he's riding with wear his.
In a similar vein, he also enjoys night rides. Often alone, but sometimes with other company. There's something about the stillness of the night that he finds relaxing and often finds some secluded place somewhere to be alone with his thoughts.

Roxana as a Name.
SuJin is her birth name and the name she feels the greatest connection to. Despite this name being the one she relates to and feels encapsulates her being, she chooses to go by a different name. She insists on being known as Roxana, stubbornly refusing to introduce herself any other way. In her eyes, SuJin is technically dead, as all Sineaters are. Adopting a new identity for a new existence is simply logical.
In that vein, SuJin reinvented herself upon becoming a Sineater, not yet knowing she would become an infernal herald of the dawn. She knows that she is no longer of more mortal persuasion, thus, she chooses to keep the more human parts of herself buried more deeply. As time presses ever onward, she erodes.
She feels further away from being SuJin, yet no closer to truly resonating with her identity as Roxana. She exists in a state in between, in constant flux, defined perhaps not by what she once was or what she has become, but by the liminality that exists within the shifting tides between identities.
It also serves as one of the small guards she puts in place as a way of protecting herself. To give distance between SuJin the mortal and Roxana the Sineater, to avoid confronting what she has become and the sentence such existence entails.

Eden & His Sleeping Habits
Eden is a person who can manage to function and function well on little to no sleep. He van go about 72 without sleeping, though the effects from a lack of sleep manifest much sooner at around the 24-hour mark. This is primarily through the physical indications of a lack of sleep and that one would typically expect. Things such as a lack of focus, a lack of awareness, decreased reaction times and dubious judgements come not long after, at around 30 hours of lacking sleep. Despite his prowess and the odds he's overcome, he's still a mortal being.
As for the act of falling asleep, he has difficulty doing so. There are, naturally, times when he will succumb to exhaustion. However, as a general rule, sleep does not come easily to him. There are countless hours spent trying to fall asleep, often to no avail. On such nights, it isn't uncommon for him to slip out of bed. Some nights, he will find something to occupy his time with, other times, he will simply sit in the dark. Even in those occasions when sleep does come more easily, it is not always a lasting rest.
He is an incredibly light sleeper. It is a remnant of his past experiences. As such, even a little noise will be enough to rouse him. Even something as subtle as a building creaking as it settles is enough to wake him, though this primarily holds true in environments he is less familiar with. In places he is more familiar with, the less likely such noises will be enough to rouse him, as he's more easily able to distinguish which sounds are ordinary for the given environment and which ones are abnormal.
In places that have been designated to be safe, such as where he makes his home, or when he is with individuals that elicit that same sense of security, he is less prone to being roused by the smallest of noises. In short, the more familiar he is with a location, the more likely he is able to sleep through the regularly occurring sounds. In turn, he is able to be more well-rested when resting in such places. He sleeps more deeply in places or with individuals he considers secure, though he also is able to sleep deeply when he rests as a result of recovery. In the event of illness, injury, and other similar circumstances, he is more difficult to rouse, for better or for worse.
Even though Eden is capable of functioning on very little or very poor rest, he doesn't enjoy it. He'd much prefer if he is able to get sufficient rest a majority of the time, but that is often not the case. He appreciates his ability to sleep lightly, as such vigilance has saved his life on many occasions. But now that he is in more peaceful circumstances, he finds himself thinking of it as a hindrance from time to time.
Even in the times when he does possess a shelter he feels secure in (whether it is people or places), he is on the road often enough to be unable to enjoy such security in full. Perhaps it comes from a place of feeling undeserving of such peace, but all in all, he often does not sleep and if he does, it is not always particularly restful.

Eden & His Hobbies
Eden has picked up a few hobbies since his time as a Saint. Now that he has the luxury of both peace and time, he is able to do things for the pleasure of doing them, rather than focusing almost entirely on survival and escape. A few of these hobbies include fishing, gardening, and constructing model kits.
For fishing, he spends a fair amount of time pursuing this hobby. A majority of his downtime is spent fishing. It's peaceful and the fact he's able to engage with such a time intensive hobby is indicative of hard won peace. He's spent so much of his life mired in violence and bloodshed, so being able to focus on something relatively mundane and insignificant in the grand scheme of things is something he holds a deep appreciation for.
Eden often releases the fish that he catches, unless he plans to make a meal out of them. To do otherwise would be wasteful, he believes, and would be irreverent to life.
He also enjoys gardening and always has some sort of gardening plot when his circumstances are conducive to having such. It isn't something that comes naturally to him, so it often results in a few wilted, or dead, plants before he gets it right. This holds true even when he does do prior research into proper care.
His remaining free time is primarily occupied to making model kits. He's not particularly partial to any sort of model; he'll build anything from planes to figures of giant robots. It isn't surprising to find a model kit being worked on in his living quarters. It's also where he keeps his collection of already completed figures.
Some more minor, but still noteworthy hobbies he has are woodworking and woodcarving, martial arts and swordplay, riding his motorcycle, dance, as well as the simple pleasure of reading.

i don't really know how to express it, but in general, each oc i write (at least, those featured on this blog) is meant to explore the confines of a world and the limits of the respective natural laws that rule them, the rules themselves and the exceptions to them.
and i worry sometimes that they come across as extreme in some way or another, but the reality is, within their respective contexts, they are. but with so much of such context removed, it's difficult to articulate the nuances and how they serve as the exception to the norm or a logical extreme instead of the standard and it's a little frustrating. aaaa

you ever think of how messed up it is that sineaters aren't compensated in any way for their contributions and with the stigma against sineaters (i'll touch on that in the future, i promise) it's nigh impossible for them to make a living, honest or not, on their planet/within their world. it's no wonder that so many sineaters leave in pursuit of better prospects, despite everything they've become and will have to endure.

Sineater Physiology.
Sineaters have a physiology that resembles that of a human, but they are markedly different in a number of ways. The most obvious is the development of non-human traits, which includes, but is not limited to features such as horns, tails, ears, chitinous shells, scales, and so forth. There are rare instances of Sineaters that do not develop inhuman features, at least not right away, though this is uncommon enough for the possibility to be considered negligible.
A less immediately obvious consequence of becoming a Sineater is the body now being far more durable than a comparable human body. This enhanced durability results in the ability to endure injuries that exceed the boundary of what should be capable, including instances of surviving damage that would otherwise be fatal. This is, in many ways, a necessary aspect as Corruptors will tear through the Sineater's body reaches the critical limit (Emergence). Being able to withstand such injuries ensures that the Sineater is able to engage in battle with the Corruptor rather than succumbing to their injuries.
The third is that no matter how extensive the injury, a Sineater will always be able to recover. Things like missing limbs or damaged organs can be recovered, given enough time. Similarly, no matter how many times a Sineater is killed, they will always be able to return, albeit in a new Iteration. Death becomes one of many consequences instead of a final end. However, both of these things remain true if and only if the Sineater's Core is intact.
The Core of a Sineater contains their very being. The flesh which they occupy is replaceable, able to be remade ad infinitum, but the Core is not. If damaged or destroyed, it cannot be repaired or returned to a previous state. The Core is the one aspect of a Sineater that they all universally and often subconsciously protect.
The Core of a Sineater itself is often located within an internal organ, most commonly a vital organ, though exceptions have occurred and continue to exist. The destruction of the Core is the only method that exists for killing a Sineater, with the exception of fatal injuries sustained from another Sineater's weapon or from a Corruptor. Those that have the capability to unmake are also able to bring peace to a Sineater, given their status as a manufactured being.
The nature of the Core also allows Sineaters to easily recognize each other. No matter the distance or well a person may hide it, a Sineater will always recognize another Sineater. While a person could obfuscate or hide this nature from the world at large, there is no way to deceive those that share their affliction.
They will always be able to recognize each other; unlike the other natives of the world, the Core enables them to distinguish between Sineaters and off-worlders that have similar inhuman appearances to Sineaters. Similarly, even if a Sineater is able to assimilate in another place with none being ever the wiser, another Sineater will instinctively know what they are.

Glossary of Terms for Sineater Lore.
A glossary of terms relating to the lore of the Sineaters.
Core - the essence of a Sineater. The Core contains the entirety of their being including their life, their memories, and arguably the Sineater's soul.
Corruptors - the physical manifestation of evil, corruption, and sin. They emerge as a consequence of a Sineater reaching the limit of corruption they can contain.
Elysian Armaments - the formal name given to the weapon a Sineater is bestowed with upon formally becoming a Sineater. It is the most effective method of destroying Corruptors.
Emergence - also called the Emergence. The name given to both the event and the phenomenon of a Corruptor tearing through a Sineater's body to manifest physically as an avatar of evil.
Iteration - traditionally referred to as a Cycle. Both terms are used interchangeably and refer to the life and death a Sineater is perpetually subject to. The Iteration number refers to the number of times a Sineater has died and returned to life. Iteration one, for example, is the life lived after becoming a Sineater.
Miasma - the miasma of Asadal is a physical manifestation of sin. It is a corrupting force, driving people to madness and exerting an influence that encourages chaos and destruction. It is thick and difficult to navigate through, save for Sineaters who are created to be able to withstand and contain such influence.
Mutagenesis - also commonly referred to as Mutation. It is a process which a Sineater may undergo at the start of a new Iteration and they may obtain a new power or ability, referred to as a Mutation. Much like genetic mutations, Mutagenesis is not always beneficial and it is entirely possible to develop a new ability that does more harm. In extreme cases, such a deleterious mutation can be fatal. Mutagenesis only occurs between Iterations.
Sineater - the created beings that are intended to ward off apocalypse by purifying miasma and subjugating Corruptors. They act as vessels for evil.
