Having a really long-term hyperfixation that has since faded is terrifying yes but it's also so embarrassing. Hi I used to think about Scrimblo Splungus 25/7. Yeah, for 2 years straight. Nah, I don't think about them anymore except for with a vague sense of melancholy as I recall how they used to make me feel. Anyways this new one, Blimpkins McGee? Why am I posting this?

Because I know I have a lot of young people following me, and because over the past few years, I've seen a shocking amount of anti-gay rhetoric in MY comment section. Of my Steven Universe fancomic. An extremely lgbtq-friendly show.

So what gives? My best guess is, I have a very wide following, and a lot of these readers are pretty socially insulated in conservative spaces that don't allow them to explore the concepts of the other side of the argument.

I'm not about to judge children on the environment they were raised in... but I'm also here. I'm a part of the environment. And I'd like to offer some perspectives.

Maybe someone told you this before but write about something that excites you. I promise you there are no wrong ideas. hell write about a slug falling in love with a fry if you want. you will spend months perhaps even years writing your book and the least you can for yourself do is make it fun dont worry about not knowing enough. you will learn. just make it fun
