your love is written … by the way you cry for me ❧ k.mingyu

morning came earlier than you expected as you pulled your aching body off the bed. it was past seven pm, which meant you had overslept the day away.
it’s a classic at this point. you’d come stumbling way past midnight from a studio session with jihoon because you wanted to ace this final exam for your senior year of college. each promise you uttered out to mingyu that you’ll come home early than the previous days were too many to count.
mingyu stirs under the blanket. “baby? you awake?” you hear him grumble out, his low morning voice making your heart tump.
however, the guilt is still buried deep in your stomach. you’ll probably let it eat you alive if mingyu hadn’t reach over to pull you back into the covers, his neck dangerously close to yours, his heart even closer.
“yeah,” you reply. “how’d you sleep, gyu?” you ask. mingyu hums out and nuzzles closer. “had a hard time falling asleep.”
now the guilt isn’t just filling your stomach, it’s climbing up your chest. you knew you shouldn’t ask why. the both of you clearly knew why, but you still do.
“why? did you drink too much caffeine again?” you humored, but the laugh barely reach your eyes. mingyu shakes his head, “nah, it’s just my classes and stuff.” he attempts but you knew it totally wasn’t because of that.
mingyu was always an excelling student since forever. he had topped top three in his whole class, earning class president all the way up to his current year: senior year. and because of that fact, you couldn’t help but feel the guilt continue its way up your heart now. the heart that is physically close to his, yet something different engulfs it.
“mingyu, i know i said i’ll be back home soon but—” you try to start but only received another head shake. “i get it. uni’s hard, i know. i know you got studios and lessons to get to. i get it all,”
a frown paints your face, heart saddening at his words. “mingyu…” mingyu only cracks a small smile, one that didn’t reach his eyes like it used to. “baby, it’s okay. i’m okay. as long as you’re here now.”
you could only nod, “thank you so much, mingyu. i—uhm,” you hesitation causes mingyu to fully face you now, giving his full attention. “what’s on your mind, baby? talk to me, i wanna know.”
your hand reach behind your nape, slightly clawing at your skin at the words that is about to make its way out of your lips. “jihoon and i had an argument.”
mingyu makes an ‘o’ face, trying to process the new information. just when he was about to speak, you cut him off. “but! that’s okay, haha. it made me realized that i’m too self-absorbed. i’m not aware of others’ feelings. i only focus on myself.”
“what are you trying to say?” mingyu questions with a confused expression. “i realized i’m not being a good partner for you.” was all you said. mingyu only hums in acknowledgment, not letting another sound out.
“i get what you mean,” mingyu says. undoubtedly his confirmation stings you a little bit, but you knew you had to accept this. you had brought this upon yourself and now isn’t the time to chicken out.
“you sure are all talk these days.” mingyu confirms again. and this one made you pierce your lips together, not daring to speak. “and you haven’t been acting on the things you say.” mingyu confirms once again.
now you’re shutting your eyes tightly together, not wanting to see his face anymore. not because of how harsh his words are, but because all of what he’s saying was true. but the pride, hurt, and ego slowly fades away when you feel mingyu’s touch on your chin.
“look at me,” mingyu softly speaks, thumbing your chin that could make you levitate at the softness, care, and love lingering on it. so you opened your eyes.
“come back to me, love. your heart is so pure, i can see that. no—i can feel it.”
you gave him a slight shove, “my heart is not pure, mingyu. all i think about is me. i neglected you because i wanted to be satisfied with myself, my grades, and whether if i’m going to graduate.” you rebutted.
but mingyu gives you a peck on the lips to shut you up. “what you did was wrong, i agree. however, you’re taking accountability right now. you’re talking to me, opening up to me, you trust me. and you’re still thinking of me.” he says ever-so-softly.
you couldn’t help but let a tear out that you never noticed. with lip quivering, you nod your head. “you’re right.”
“now, let’s get all these sad tears aside and cuddle some more, what do you say?” mingyu chuckles while wiping your cheeks before placing a peck on each side. you nod, “most definitely! my turn to give you all the kisses you deserve because you’re truly the best, kim mingyu.”
mingyu cocks his eyebrow at you, “not you saying that while using my full name. you’re making it sound like it’s a bad thing to be the best.” he jokes, earning him a light smack on his shoulder.
“i could cry for you every single second because i don’t deserve you, honestly. you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” you say with a smile that finally reaches your eyes.
mingyu reaches for your cheeks again, his thumb once grace under your eyes, wiping another set of tears you didn’t realize had escaped. “baby, please don’t cry. school’s already made your eyes full of tears. i don’t intend to do the same.”
you giggle at his words, heart full of love receiving from the man you love the most. “that’s different kind of tears.” you start. “this one are tears that was so loved by someone who cares for me. so thank you for making me cry. i love you so so much. i wish there was a better way to say than i love you.”
mingyu engulfs you into a hug before speaking. “the way you cry for me is already enough for me to understand your love.”

reblogging this shit because every day i am reminded of how much i hate the color orange. i can go days explaining why LOL
when the sky turns orange ❧ j. wonwoo
waves softly embraces the sand where you lay your swollen feet. you had been running for a while now and decided to stop by the beach, barefoot and no direction to go. the only motivation being the need to get away. as much as you regretted your impulsive decision, you can’t help but feel your tightened chest slowly start to unclench itself. your once enclosed throat slowly but surely letting the cold air in.
you missed this, and you needed this.
you’re never really fond of the spacious ocean before you—more of a homebody. but no doubt the view of the ocean and the sky intertwining painted a breathtaking sight. this afternoon, the sky was bright orange, reflecting the day introducing the night. much to your delight, the beach rarely had many visitors so you took everything in you and clenched the sand between your grasp.
the sand, so brown and soft yet so uncomfortable for your feet. a balance feeling that puts your heart at ease and mind to solely focus on something else. the ocean, so blue and still yet uncertainties lay among it. a balance feeling that keep you grounded and imaginative.
“you’re here.” a deep voice calls out through the gentle waves.
you raised your head and unclenched your hands. instinctively your hands make its way up to your head, trying to comb out your disheveled hair. an attempt to make yourself look presentable though you’re sure it’s barely working. you looked too ugly right now—crazy hair, bruised feet, calloused hands, and a heart that you never knew could beat this fast.
your lip curves into a small smile, “i am.” you answer, the smile not leaving your face. “you’re here, too.” you pointed out. the voice brings itself to your view. and there was a few things you've noticed.
the voice has a presence—one that always managed to support yours when you felt like you didn’t. the voice has a body—one that always managed to physically be there for you to hold and caress. the voice has a face—one that always managed to gaze toward you, the gaze that holds every word you want to utter out. the voice has a heart—one that always managed to be in sync with you. the voice belongs to a person that is everything you’re not, and that’s okay because he’s all you need.
“wonwoo,” you reach your calloused palm for him to hold. wonwoo gladly accepts, intertwining the fingers together tightly before taking a seat beside you. “how’d you find me?”
wonwoo could hear hesitation in your tone as you said those words out. he places his free hand under his chin, an attempt to make him look like he’s in deep thought. however, such question was too easy to answer.
“the sky’s orange and you hate the ocean.” was all wonwoo replied. you cocked your eyebrow, “and what does that indicate? please do enlighten me.” you humored his response, though curiously anticipating the next words that will come out. without looking at you, he responds. “you always come here when the sky’s orange,” wonwoo continues.
“at first, i thought you just hated the color orange but i keep seeing you here, admiring the very color you hate. but i realized that you coming here was more than that feeling. you,” wonwoo pauses. “you come here for you. not whether if the sky’s orange or blue. though, of course, you’ll never admit that.” he chuckles out at your expression.
what nonsense are you saying? you wanted to question, but you didn’t. you couldn’t.
“i don’t understand,” you breathed out. and here it goes again. your throat tightening, threatening to rip out your vocal cords so you can’t make any more attempts. that feeling slowly fades away when wonwoo pats on his shoulder. wonwoo wants you to lean on his shoulder—and you refused.
wonwoo still holds out his shoulder with a soft smile gracing over his face. that damn smile never fails to let the walls you build around yourself crumble so fast. “you hate yourself, yet you still go to great lengths to just admire yourself. all your flaws and imperfections you keep finding in yourself.”
his words is supposed to stab your heart at the straightforwardness. still, you find yourself being comforted, it was like a bandage being placed over you. “i don’t want to admire myself.”
wonwoo nods at your acknowledgment. “yeah, you don’t. but look at you,” he says as he gently closes the gap between you before his hands gazing over your head and pulling on his shoulder. “look at you, my love. despite all that you’re feeling about yourself, you’re still here for you.”
“no, you don’t understand, wonwoo.” you rebuke while shaking your head. wonwoo’s fingers brushes your bangs away from your face, “let me understand, let me understand you inside and out. i want to understand you more.” he admits and you felt heat rushing your face as you let out a giggle.
“you don’t understand that i could break up with you right here, right now, just because of my insecurities and imperfections.”
wonwoo’s smile falters a bit, you noticed, so you continued. “i’m nothing, wonwoo. i don’t deserve you, i’m not perfect enough, i’m not good enough, i’m too emotional, i’m too annoying, i’m too quiet, i’m too loud, i’m too—i’m too ugly for you. and i meant it more than appearance wise.” you whisper out but you’re unsure now.
“your imperfections make you perfect, love. and i wouldn’t trade anything for the world for it. and if you were to break up with me because of that, i understand. i’d wait an eternity for you to understand my love for you. and i’d wait an eternity for me to understand you even more because what is love if it’s not you?”
author’s note: keep being you because who will? only you can be you. and that's the best gift the universe has given us.

left or right? fuck that, go up! ❧ l. seokmin
this is my last post of 2024 so i just wanna say, thank you guys for all the love and support you’ve show this blog over this month. i’m so grateful that i am privileged to be able to share my passion and something that is a part of me. as much as i say i love writing, i always find myself questioning my love for it because i truly believe that i suck. but at the end of the day, i always come back to my first love. i just want to encourage every one that, it’s okay to question your love for your passion. it’s a part of growth in your craft. but always, always, put your mental and physical health first. in order to be good at your craft, you must live well enough to be able to do it.
once again, not beta read. merry belated christmas / holiday to those with a heavy heart and feels stuck in life. take that breath, baby. slow down, you will be fine.
you never really put a label on anything, more of a realistic and raw kind of person, and leaving things as they were. this means that calling lee seokmin way past midnight sounded a stretch in your friendship—but seokmin always seem to be different than you expected.
because the moment he heard his phone ring exactly at one in the morning and the caller ID showed a picture he secretly took of you with one of the prettiest smile, he came running to you.
“seokmin, are you here yet?” you find yourself calling out through the phone, tears threatening to fall.
you had been stuck in your apartment, cooped up at your tiny table in your bedroom. your appearance is not presentable, you were aware of that. writer’s block had always been this bad for, had your head aching, and your expectations diminished. it took exactly an hour to write the starting sentence in the second book of your series. still, you find yourself nitpicking at the little wording of it.
seokmin’s voice responds with panting, “yes, i’m here. i’ll welcome myself in, don’t worry about getting me.” he reassures you without you needing to point out your insufficiency.
the call is cut after you gave your thanks and you lowered your head in exhaustion. questions of if writing was this difficult for you, ‘why did you even try’ comes rushing to you like storms. if writing the first part of your story is taking this much toll on you? why even try anymore?
however, it was like heaven-sent when, “oh, baby,” rings throughout your apartment. it was seokmin’s angelic voice, and in matter of seconds, you are being gently pulled into a soft embrace, and you almost melted. almost.
“how long have you been at it, love?” seokmin asks you while patting out your hair. you respond with a sigh, “more than i need to be.” you unwillingly admitted.
seokmin frowns deeply, “no breaks yet?” you nod your head, ashamed and hoping you won’t get scolded by him. it was clear you were at your last straw—one more trigger and you’ll actually jump of a cliff.
but the scoldings never came. instead, “was it difficult for you?” you hear seokmin’s angelic voice ask again. the tears are now wanting to fall once again, but you didn’t dare let them.
“you must have been struggling a lot. haven’t you? i know it all, my love. i know it all, it’s okay.” and there goes the wall you’ve built around yourself. they fell like water, flowing like storms yet so still. seokmin’s hands tightly wraps around you as words start spilling without your permission.
“i’m scared, seokmin. i’m scared that i’ll lose my passion for writing if i can’t get such small thing right. i’m scared i’ll be proving others and my parents right—that this job of mine is not worth the risk. i’m—i’m afraid i’ll be proving myself wrong. i feel like i’m forced to choose a side, and i don’t want that. it feels like i’m running an endless race if i don’t pick any sides—my passion or the expectations. i don’t know what to do anymore. i need answers. i need solutions! i don’t know what to do with myself!”
seokmin hums in acknowledgment, his hug still tight as ever. it was like he didn’t want to let go of you, didn’t want you to let go of yourself.
“my love, shh. please, slow down, breathe. take a deep breathe for me, yeah?” seokmin reassures you.
“even if you feel like you’re in an endless race, maybe, just maybe. not running can be an answer you need. running itself is tiring enough. and so what if you stop running for a while just to take a breath? it means that you’re still alive, breathing. and even if you’re stumped at which direction to head, the sky is an answer too.”
though the words seokmin says to you are serious, you couldn’t help but bitterly chuckle. “i can’t fly, seokmin. i can’t reach the stars just for this little passion of mine.”
seokmin shakes his head in disapproval and gently places his palms on the side of your cheeks, staring deeply into your eyes. a smile grace over his lips as he speaks.
“you already have the stars in your eyes, hand-picked from the sky.”
