Yeah Johnny Depp... I can't with this guy. Dude, you were a worldwide famous movie star when you and Amber Heard got together and she was relatively unknown. Then you started abusing her shortly after you were married. From pap photos during your marriage, it was obvious she was unhappy which backs up her text message saying you relapsed and became abusive every three months or so. Then when she left you and wrote an op-ed -- that doesn't even mention your name -- you went after her with everything you got.

Your fame, your money, your age, your experience, your connections in the industry, your influence -- you used all of them to metaphorically beat her into place after she left you after YOU abused her during your marriage.

F@#$, Johnny Depp could have written his own op-ed! "I did wrong but Amber was violent with me too." Imagine what the reaction to that would've been. People would've been screaming at him, there is no way you could've been the victim because you are basically ten times more powerful than her. You beat her? Go to rehab! Clean yourself up! That's what people would've said.

I think Heard did abuse him back. She retaliated. Victims are allowed to do that. And this is also what she was trying to awkwardly tell him -- If you try to say you're abused, no one will believe you because you are not abused, you are too much more powerful than me for that to be the case.

Him. The trial. The verdict. All complete crap. Just unbelievable.

"Occasional thespian." What, are you in indie films? Community theater? Improv? You are the king of the Pirates franchise who sued your ex-wife whom you abused because you lost out on ONE movie. Sell one of your houses you don't live in and you would've recouped that!

"Never fear truth." Says the guy who painted his ex-wife as a sociopath and her bruises a complete hoax and sicc'ed his crazy fans on her. Was the picture she sent to HER MOM with a bruise on her arm a hoax, Johnny?

My instinct about Britney is that her breakdown and the conservatorship in its early years were fated, and needed -- even by herself.

At some point, that really changed and Jamie Spears went from overprotective father to abusive creep. And Britney went from, I'm rebelling against this but on some level I know I need this, to This is f**ked up and get me TF out!!! This article unfortunately does not provide a clue about when that was.

Overall I feel like this article has that kind of Gen X skepticism that's good and illuminating on ... maybe personal relationships and the stories of personal lives. But refusing to take external factors into account -- like why would you interview an ACLU lawyer? ACLU has done bubkus for civil rights in recent years -- means it has a ton of blind spots. Her treatment by the media was part of her breakdown. Also, the interviews with Adnan where he says she was calm as she was put in a gurney and placed in an ambulance. What?? Don't write that without qualifying it in terms of what we all saw. Which was she was a WRECK. She was not fine and ok!! WTF!!

Overall, his article is along the lines of what you can expect from The New Yorker, which is a detached, looking down their nose perspective, especially for men writing about women. That and all the unnecessary umlauts over words like "cooperate." 🙄
