The Clash photographed by Sheila Rock, Roundhouse, Camden, London, 1976.
“The look is down to Paul Simonon [right]. He did the clothes, the backdrops, the Jackson Pollock splashes on the shirts. Mick [Jones, centre] and Joe [Strummer, left] wrote the songs, but Paul was the artist.” - Sheila Rock

things that remind me of my favourite bands
The Cure: colourful abstract art, watching old movies, having stray cats come up to you, long car journeys, feeling alone in a crowded place, knowing names but not faces, falling for people and not telling them, messy hair, hanging out on the stairs at a party, windy days.
Joy Division: bus rides at night, carving your name into tables, sitting on curbs, making the instrument noises in a song, black jumpers, checking to see if your hair smells like cigarettes, empty glass bottles, dancing like no one’s watching, hearing cars go by at night, porch lights.
Manic Street Preachers: correcting teachers when they’re wrong, red paint on denim, bitten nails, reading obsessively, wall collages, air guitar alone in your room, getting red when angry, cutting pictures out of magazines, killing people with kindness because you know better, nosebleeds.
