The mere sight of the piles of empty plates was enough to leave her in amusement. It kind of reminded her of the banquets they would hold at the palace. However, to see a human eat so much was just astonishing to her. Maybe this one was malnourished? Long travels on the road and sea did tend to wear them out.

"That's because you need to get the real filling stuff. Hold on." For a moment, a claw lazily dragged on the menu, eyes darting for something specific. "Ah, here," a light tap on the paper once she found it, "you can't go wrong with the rice bowls. Eel, tuna, squid; it's all good! The Capital is right by the coast, so everything is freshly caught."

Mary could do nothing but watch, as glee turned into equal confusion, as the smile faded on Itsuki's face. Along with her pride with failing to land the joke.

"N-no, dear sister. It's a pun... you know. A play on words?"

"See, cake tiers sound like crying tears, so I just..." A pause as Mari considered trying a different joke. Maybe puns weren't her strongest suit. Nothing more embarrassing than trying to explain a joke, but it was better than just leaving her in the dark.

"Would you like to try? It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it!"

“O-oh? A good dream, I hope...” Mari kept her head down, focused on a halfhearted attempt on her drawing. Not out of disinterest, but worry. Not everyone welcomed having their dreams be known, much less altered with. But... it was Kimi and she deserved good dreams.

Nervous on how to ask without seeming overbearing. "Feeling...okay? No headaches? ...No, umm... nightmares?" Idly, she drew a circle... and kept scribbling the circle, oblivious to the thick shade of yellow that has now overtaken the page.

"Welcome..." Most of the voices scattered with little remarks. Mostly greetings in return. "Such... a treat!" Optimus Prime. They knew him, she knew him. Such an oddity. Such a comfort. "We are... us. Soon... Soon?"

"Interloper" Voice already dripping with disdain, it purposely skipped their half of the introduction. The murmur and chatter ceased once the other voice continued, "You do not... belong here." Seeming to drown the others within the void, its very presence felt heavy and oppressive.

"Lost?" "Focus." "Indulge."

It was a subtle change, but a soft rustling of leaves could be heard within the distance. A pleasant memory trying to intervene the nightmare, to overcome the void. Another attempt at offering a peace of mind.

"Feel. Try."

"Too much of a burden." More clear, steady and focused as it pressed on. Why she is trying to comfort him? A waste of such energy for another ingrate, not worth the trouble. This one wasn't even human! No matter, this link will sever in due time. "You don't want to crush our dear Dreamer, would you?"

A moment of silence passed in what she could assume was a shared dilemma. It was hard to understand one's dreams, and more so to control them. Trial and error were common and confusing, but more importantly, it took time. Something everyone couldn't spare. "Well… maybe I can try teaching you how to control your dreams a bit?"

With a bounce back in her step, hands clasp together with a smile. Besides, what kind of host would she be if she didn't attempt to help her guest? "Like… little exercises? They won't completely stop them, but it should help reduce them!"

I've been thinking more about how everyone in Mari's world have powers and how that effects their life, ect ect.
