Adult Swim will lose the rights to Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers in the next few years. No specific date for Bob’s Burgers, but Turner’s rights to the first fifteen seasons of Family Guy will expire fall 2021.
Turner does not have the rights to the sixteenth and the current seventeenth season of Family Guy and will never get it. FXX and Freeform are set to start airing season sixteen of Family Guy as soon as next week. Bob’s Burgers season nine will debut on FXX this fall. Adult Swim currently has the rights to all but the currently premiering ninth season of Bob’s.
American Dad is not affected (probably thanks to TBS footing the bill), but still. This is the biggest loss Adult Swim has ever had. This is like losing Futurama times ten. Adult Swim knows they got a 2.5 year ticking time bomb on their hands now, though, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do, what they schedule, what they produce, what they acquire in the future. Will Toonami expand to weeknights? Will Adult Swim try to acquire some other big series? Will Cartoon Network permanently take back an hour or two? Who knows.
Either way, oh boy.

There’s some updates to Disney Channel’s Schedule for February 25-March 3. The changes are on Wednesday, February 27 where an encore of the DCOM, Kim Possible (2019) at 7 PM was replaced with Raven’s Home, Coop & Cami, and Sydney to the Max and on Friday, March 1 where more reruns of Gigantosaurus airs at 12 PM and 1 PM.

AUSTRALIA WHAT’RE YOU HIDING?!
Tumblr media
Just for fun, this is what Disney Channel’s Schedule in Australia looks like for January 7-13. Since Disney XD in Australia & New Zealand is shutting down on January 6, 2019, a handful of shows have since moved to the main Disney Channel there, like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, for example.
It’s a good schedule with a blend of Animated, Live-Action, and Marvel’s Animated Shows with a total of 31 Shows airing next week. The Disney Junior Preschool shows doesn’t air on the channel but there is a 24-Hour Disney Junior channel in Australia and New Zealand.

TBH I’m surprised DC even wanted cartoons back. Probably to boost ratings because the Disney executives are well aware their content sucks.

This thing didn’t load last week, so here it is!
Please ignore Johnny Test.
Furthermore, don’t expect a Nicktoons schedule tommorow or next week, but I can very much do a DC or DXD schedule.

I'm bothered by Disney Channel's Cram Session (Saturday and Sunday mornings). They aren't even gonna promote Milo Murphy's Law for it's 2nd season. And they'll delay SVTFOE reruns and they'll treat the show like garbage. I feel like they will air all of Season 4 in 1 month during the Summer of 2019.
Honestly, the only reason why DC even picked Milo up was because the fans were pretty much about to riot.
And plus, 7am is 6am in my timezone. I had to throttle myself to watch Ducktales on Saturdays.

The next schedule will premiere when Gumball comes on.
That’s about 7pm in my timezone.

While I wouldn’t entirely vaporize sitcoms, they need to actually try with them, Almost every DC sitcom has the same plot/structure. At least Nickelodeon’s sitcoms actually have original plots to them.
Bunk’d and Raven’s Home aren’t terrible, but they air wayyy too much.
Andi Mack is pretty good but the plot is extremely boring and predictable.
Stuck in the Middle had potential, but it came out as a discount Loud House. Heck, SITM was before TLH.
I’m surprised Bizaardvark wasn’t abolished after season 1.
Coop and Cami has potential, but it seems really boring right now.
Disney Channel nowadays is trying too hard to appeal with shows like The A Girl.
It’s Disney Channel USA’s fault for only airing 5 sitcoms putting all their cartoon content Saturday and Sunday mornings while all we get is laugh tracks and cheesy jokes/loud acting for most of the day. I fear they are gonna treat SVTFOE very poorly with misleading promos, only airing once/twice a week, and the factor they might cram all of Season 4 in one month. If you feel this way how are they are treating shows like Tangled and Big Hero 6, Disney Channel is garbage
I’d like to hope Disney itself will shift to adding more favoritism to its cartoons considering how many are going to be on the channel now.
But no doubt the sitcoms overwhelm it and aren’t even Disney’s best work either.
I can only hope this move means the channel is being reshaped rather than shoving its cartoon shows into the back.

My Ideal Disney Channel Schedule
Now with a good variety/mix of animated/live action shows old and current.
Animation programs would air Monday-Thursday from 5-10:30 PM, Friday 4-11 PM.
For night of premieres, their animated shows will be on Friday night, while Sunday is for all their current live action content.
Disney Channel has over 30+ shows in it’s vault. Now it’s all balanced. Variety
