Today was a very productive day. I was able to complete module 1 of my final (there are 4 in total) and finish my concept cards. Now it’s time to see something in netflix with a snack.

2017 is another low chinook salmon year like in 2013, with 2017 having the fewest SRKW sightings in Puget Sound on record and 2013 the second fewest. The young, the pregnant, and the old are impacted the most.

No fish, no blackfish.

Reduction in wild salmon numbers results in starving killer whales, while open net salmon farms are harmful to the environment. • Don’t use products that contain plastic microbeads. Sewage filtration systems cannot filter them out, and they end up in our waterways, which negatively impacts marine wildlife. • Prevent toxic runoff. Replace your toxic cleaning products with natural alternatives, and limit or eliminate your use of toxic lawn care products. • Educate yourself. Learn of more ways your everyday activities may be impacting the environment, and what you can do to help. • Educate others. We can’t do this alone. It’ll take a lot of us to get the change train rolling.
