Sangti Valley is located near Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh. This is perhaps the most serene place that I have visited so far! Lush green hills, river flowing nearby, the feeling of breathing unpolluted air, and the melodramatic sky just added to the beauty! ✨ Usually, Dirang is used as a transit stop before continuing the journey to Tawang. However, Dirang is much more than a transit stop. If you are planning to visit the region, do spare a day or two to explore this heavenly place! ✨ For me, this place was a complete surprise! I used to think such places only exist in Kashmir, Switzerland, or in paintings 😊 ✨ Have you ever visited a place that has pleasantly surprised you? Which are those places, and what surprised you there? (at Sangti Valley) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFThP1is2Gw/?igshid=59gg4u23ucba

Neer Waterfall, also called Neergarh Waterfall is located in the outskirts of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. This extremely beautiful two tier falls is accessible by a short trek. The lower tier is visible from the small narrow road, a small detour from the Badrinath Highway. The upper tier is bigger, and requires a steep trek for about 2km amidst dense jungle. Sometimes you find beauty at the most unexpected place. ✨ Red Hills, one of the less popular places near Ooty, has some beautiful lakes in the region. Surrounded by the Nilgiris Mountains on all sides, the Emerald Lake is the most picturesque of them all. When you spot this lake from a nearby hill, you can see that the colour of the water is emerald green, reflecting the colour of the greenery around. The lake got its name due to this very reason! ✨ The forest department does organise a safari that takes you to the interiors of Nilgiris. If you love taking a drive to the remote corners of the jungles, I strongly recommend this. I had been on that safari once before, and wanted to go again. But unfortunately that particular day it was cancelled. Disappointed, I asked the forest official if I can stroll around the place. With initial hesitation, he finally agreed. Just about 100 meters from the forest department office, I was stunned to find this view! The more I got closer to the lake, the better the view was! With no one else is in the vicinity, the whole beauty is here, just in front of me, and all for me!! ✨ Have you ever visited a place by chance, and was pleasantly surprised by it? This is the birth place of River Lachung in Sikkim. While the actual birth place is few meters away, the time I visited the place, the snow/galciers in that place hadn’t started melting. After hiking few meters on the hill (on the right in the pic), I could clearly see where the “river” started. The makeshift bridge that you see in the pic is just 100m from the starting point. ✨ Zero Point, at 16000+ ft above sea level, is the last point civilians are allowed to visit in the northern Sikkim. This region has very low levels of oxygen. It is about 35km from Yumthang Valley (12000ft) but the steep ascent has many visitors falling sick due to the sudden rise in altitude. The happiest moments are those where you take an unknown path. ✨ Every road has two directions. One which takes you back to your comfort zone, and you are happy for that. The other direction lets you explore the unknown. Whether the end result of the latter is good or bad, you are still happy to have an experience that is beyond your comfort zone. ✨ Which direction do you like to proceed? Lepakshi Veerabhadra Temple is one of the marvellous creations of Vijayanagar Kingdom. The temple has several sculptures on the pillars and the surrounding rocks. ✨ The temple is popular for its “Hanging Pillar”, Naga Lingam (Seven headed snake protecting Shivling), it also is a delight to art and history enthusiasts. The picture is of open air Kalyana Mantap (Marriage Hall). If you observe closely each of these pillars have art inscribed on it. The whole temple and its premises have numerous such pillars and art inscribed on each of them. ✨ On some of the rocks, you can also see some Kannada scripts. These inscriptions describe various milestones related to the temple. The small village of Lepakshi has several things to offer to its visitors. It is home to the largest Nandi in India. According to Ramayana, Lepakshi is also believed to be the place where the bird Jatayu was injured and fell on the ground. It is here where Lord Rama to Jatayu to ‘Get up’. Le Pakshi in Telugu translates to ‘Get up, Bird), and hence the name for the village. (at Lepakshi Temple, Lepakshi, Ananthapur) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEQnEUTM7bQ/?igshid=1nfmw62h41swl
