Glad that I can bring some unique content to your dash then 😊 Hmm…some of my favorite au themes….I do love a soulmates theme. I’m also a poor FL rich ML girlie, as long as the ML isn’t completely insufferable. There was an EXO Mall series written a few years back that I also absolutely love that was written to take place in the 90’s I believe and that was a fun one because each of the EXOs owned their own store in the mall. Lastly, I’d say I enjoy a besties-to-lovers-who-were-in-love-from-the-beginning-anyway theme. People here are so creative, there’s always a fic that fits whatever theme I’m looking for!
The Agency (Part 1)

Genre: EXO AU

Summary: Running a top-rated dating agency was difficult enough….. But running a top-rated dating agency for paranormal beings was almost impossible. When a rival approaches you with a life-changing, yet dangerous offer, will you stay safely on the sidelines or jump directly into the fray?
A/N: A very happy holiday to my EXOL Secret Santa, @vampwrrr! I’ve enjoyed our correspondence over the last few months and I’m so glad to have made a new friend here! I was very inspired by our conversations and plan to make this into a short series, so I hope you enjoy Part 1 dedicated to you!

“Alright Mr. Weylan, can you tell me a little bit about what type of person you are looking for?”
As he spoke, you surveyed the highly-coiffed man in front of you, noting the sky blue cashmere Brioni suit and the distinct scent of cologne that smelt like it cost $500 a bottle.
Despite the urge to roll your eyes as the being in front of you listed his requirements–predictable to say the least–you schooled your features. Flashing him your charming ‘service’ smile you gamely assured him you had just what he was looking for.
After seeing your client off, you sat alone in your office, going through the motions of getting his matches set up. Your mind wandered, something that had been happening quite a lot lately.
Sigh.
When did this job get so…so…boring? Your former youthful enthusiasm of years past had been replaced with ennui at best and apathy at worst.
Was it your clients? Or was it you?
Lately, your clients seemed so predictable. Where was the uniqueness? The fire?
Before a client walked through your door, you were able to guess their type with upwards of 90% accuracy. You broke it down was follows:
Vampires: Delicate, sexy (but virginal), tall. Luminous skin, with a preference for bite play.
Goblins: Short (because they’re short kings), mischievous, intelligent, and into forging.
Frankensteins: Compassionate, loving, and kind. Literally couldn't care less about appearance. Good at sewing.
Incubi/Succubi: Good sex. Period.
And lastly, werewolves–
Werewolves: Voluptuous, sensual, and sturdy. Typically not as picky about appearance and–
“Boss, your 8:00 is here,” chirped the phone on your desk.
Strange. Mr. Weylan should have been your last client for the night.
“Elsie?”
“Yes, Boss?”
“We talked about this already, I have a date at–”
“Yes, I know, Boss. But trust me, you’ll want to see this one.”
“For your sake, I’d better. Fine, fine, send them in.”
You’d always known that helping immortals, many of whom didn’t sleep, find romantic fulfillment was going to be a 24-hour job, you just never anticipated tiring of it all.
Open 24/7 just like a fucking minimart.
No life. No lover. Forever fucking alone. God, the cliche of it all.
Turning to look in the mirror behind your desk, you fixed your hair, wistfully thinking it unfortunate that your date-night outfit had gone to waste.
Suddenly, the hairs on the back of your neck tingled, giving you the distinct impression that you were no longer alone.
A familiar pair of eyes met yours in the mirror, belonging to the last possible person you’d expected to see.
Your surprise must have shown on your face, as a sly, knowing grin spread across the asshole–your visitor’s–face.
“Ah, Mr. Byun, to what do I owe this distinct pleasure? I thought we had concluded our business relationship, per your request.”
Seated on your plush couch was Byun Baekhyun. A man who had made his fortune in tech, owning one of the biggest cybersecurity firms in the world. He was a big deal, everything he touched–businesses, inventions, people– turned to gold. There were rumors that he had ties to the underground, but this was just a rumor.
He was a big deal alright and a big pain in your ass.
“Aww, don’t be salty, Boss. A misunderstanding is all that was,” Baekhyun cajoled, patting the seat next to him on the couch–your couch–as if he owned the place.
You crossed your arms, taking a seat across from Mr. Byun. “I wouldn’t call you referring to my company as, “the worst t” on national television ‘a misunderstanding’, would you, Mr. Byun?”
Mr. Byun uncrossed his legs, learning forward. “Alright, let’s call it an unfortunate occurrence then. And please, call me Baekhyun.”
“Is there something I can help you with, Mr. Byun”, you said pointedly, refusing to take the bait.
“Why, yes. In fact, I believe you can. You see, I have a proposition for you.”
A proposition. A proposition?! What kind of proposition could this Grinch possibly have for you?
It must be business-related. Of course, it had to be. You weren’t naive enough to assume your charming good looks and effervescent personality had been enough to totally reverse this person’s worldview.
Was he in the market for a lover? You highly doubted that. A quick scan revealed a suit worth a minimum of $30,000, a watch worth double that, and loafers worth more than your monthly car payment. Not to mention, the swarm of media coverage that followed him from place to place showed he never had any trouble finding quality partners.
You decided to play it cool. “Proceed. I’m listening.”
“I like a woman who’s decisive,” he remarked appreciatively, eyes flickering from your head to your feet.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, trying to hide your annoyance. “Mr. Byun, I have many things–important things–that I could be doing right now.”
“Oh no, so sorry, did I interrupt your plans for a hot date?”
Your stony look accompanied by silence confirmed his theory.
“Ah, so I did. Oops, my apologies,” he said smugly, not sounding the least bit remorseful.
“Make your point, Mr. Byun, or please leave. Don’t waste my time.”
Mr. Byun put his hand over his heart, moaning and theatrically clutching his heart. “You wound me, Boss. Has anyone ever told you you’re a bit too serious?”
“Many times. Has anyone ever told you you’re annoying?”
That stupid, smug smile reappeared on his face. “Annoyance isn’t the usual reaction that I get from women, no.”
“This should be character-building then.”
“Indeed.” Mr. Byun chuckled.
Mr. Byun’s face turned serious and you hoped he’d finally get to the point of his visit here.
“As you know, I own a company–”
“Byun Solutions. I’m aware.”
“Yes, Byun Solutions is my public-facing company; however, I own another….side hustle, you might call it.”
“A side hustle?”
You couldn’t imagine why a man like him, a filthy-rich man like him would need a side hustle. You stared at him skeptically, a bid for him to continue.
“We’re a guild, of sorts, taking on requests and executing them per our clients’ wishes–”
“ –which I’m guessing aren’t all legal,” you guessed.
Mr. Byun’s eyebrows raised. “What gave you that idea?”
“If your activities were legal, this side hustle would be public knowledge. I haven’t heard one peep about it, so I assumed some of your activities might be on the other side of the law.”
“You’re quick, Boss, I’ll give you that. We’ve had a client request come in that requires some outside expertise. Yours, to be exact.”
He paused, not elaborating any further.
“This is all very interesting, Mr. Byun, but I’m going to need more information than that.”
“Of course, there’s just one teensy, tiny thing first.”
You smacked your hand across your forehead. “For the love of gosh, what?”
Mr. Byun reached into his briefcase, pulling out a thick, legal-looking document. He flashed you a brilliant smile, one you’re sure had charmed thousands of businessmen and women alike.
Pushing the stack of papers toward you, he pulled out a Montblanc pen and placed it on top.
“Just a simple non-disclosure agreement, you understand, I’m sure?”
Something felt off about this whole thing, but you couldn’t put your finger on what it was. Was it the fact that your #1 most-hated enemy was in your office asking you to sign some suspicious document? Yeah, actually it probably was.
“Come on, Boss. A little adventure wouldn’t hurt, no? Aren’t you tired of the same, old monotony?”
How the fuck did he know that? Was the man a god-damned mind reader?
You bit your tongue, not wanting to admit to this aggravating man that he was right. Hadn’t you just been thinking that very same thing moments before he walked through your door?
You cleared your throat, picking up the stack of papers to glance through them.
“Then I’ll need to read this through, thoroughly…you understand, I’m sure.”
Satisfied, Mr. Byun grinned, extending his hand in consent, his body relaxing into your couch, though his eyes remained intent on you.
When you were satisfied he wasn’t trying to con you into some illegal ponzi scheme or sell your organs on the black market for cash, you signed the paper with a flourish.
“Now that that’s out of the way, can you tell me what this ‘assignment’ is?”
“Of course”, Baekyhun replied gamely, “I need you to help me kill someone.”

You are so welcome!
You mentioned liking some fantasy elements, but not the typical cliche tropes that go along with it and somehow that translated in my brain to “Dating agency BUT make it werewolves/vampires AND kinda sus” And honestly I just love a spicy heroine who gives no ducks and tells it like it is. We are subverting damsel-in-distress archetypes here!

Stay tuned for Part 2!

The Agency (Part 1)

Genre: EXO AU
Characters: Baekhyun x Female Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1400
*Also, not my photo. From Baek’s IG.

My bias is baekhyun! His loud laugh and silly behavior caught me once I heard his vocals.
I've been obsessed with Kyungsoo's music for when I'm driving. It's so soothing! His voice is also amazing.
What are your favorite concepts from him or eras? Do you have anything you want to see him do? Oh! And do you watch any of his dramas? If so, is there one you would recommend?
- your exo-l secret santa
Yes, I totally get it! Baekhyun seems like a such an enjoyable person to be around, not to mention his vocals are king! Is there a song or era for him that is your favorite?
Kyungsoo does have a really nice, calming voice that is great for puttering around the house or when you need some nice background noise. I really liked his look during the Love Me Right era and the Ooh La La era with the cozy sweater look. I actually haven’t seen any of his dramas, though I have watched the EXO Ladder show on Viki and his Off the Grid show episode. I did watch “The Moon” movie that he was in and it was great if you like space suspense movies.
When did you get into EXO? What is your favorite album that they’ve done?
Great to hear from you!

Hi there!! It's your exol secret Santa!
Who is your exo bias and what do you like most about them?
Hello! So glad to hear from you 😊
My bias is Kyungsoo! His voice is really what drew me to him, it’s so soulful and his runs are so smooth. He’s also interested in cooking and a little more of an introvert, just like me, so personality-wise it felt like a good match too. Doesn’t hurt that he’s extremely good-looking too 😉. What about you? Who is your bias and why do you like them?

Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo

Genre: EXO AU
Characters: Kyungsoo x Female Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1,000
Summary: A sweet short story about Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo using adjectives that seem to fit him and that correspond to the letters in his name.
A/N: This kind of just happened, as I am very in my Valentine’s Day feels at the moment, so I hope you enjoy it.
**Disclaimers: This is just me using my imagination based on what I’ve seen of DKS via media, so not real just for funsies. Credit for GIFS and pics should go to the original owners ( thanks Amino Apps and Martha Stewart!)
~*~
K
From the start you were attracted to Kyungsoo’s KIND personality. He was always helping the staff complete tasks, worrying out whether they’d eaten. You respected that he cared so much about others. And of course, this extended to you. As an “acts of service” man, Kyungsoo spoiled you with small things that brightened your day–flowers after a routine trip to the grocery store, filling your car up with gas, and home-made lunch made with love. You felt giddy knowing Valentine’s Day was coming up soon and wondered what your sweet Soo would prepare.
Y
You sighed in sheer bliss as you bit into your second YUMMY éclair of the evening. Kyungsoo smiled at your adorable reaction and as always, appreciated your enthusiasm for his creations. Kyungsoo didn’t claim to be a baker, in fact, he preferred the savory side of cooking. But you loved baking and he loved spending time in the kitchen with you. These days your apartment was practically a boulangerie, with both of you having to fend off hungry members left and right. Valentine’s Day was just around the corner and Kyungsoo was more than ready to whip up a slew of delicious treats.
(A/N: Kyungsoo creates yummy things and is, himself, also very yummy 😉)
U
Growing up as a theater kid, you loved nothing better than a good musical. Why act out lines when you could sing them? With any live concert, musical, movie, or show, the most important thing was the voice. Honeyed vocal runs and the soulful sounds beat out dancing and stage presence anyday in your book. Not long after you’d started dating, Kyungsoo obliged a request to sing at a Christmas party. It was there that you were introduced to his UNIQUE singing voice, so different from any other that you’d heard before. Was he really a Disney prince in disguise? Sources said possibly. He could sing for you any time, any day, anywhere.
N
Gentle rays of sun bathed the rooftop deck in a warm glow. Kyungsoo hummed softly as he collected his treasures–cilantro, tomatoes, parsley, peppers, green beans–all home-grown from his little, urban garden. Working with his hands in the dirt brought Kyungsoo a measure of peace from his hectic work schedule. Kyungsoo was a NATURAL at nature–green-thumbed and incredibly enthusiastic. You…were not, but he somehow found that endearing. He pictured you sitting in the lounge chair nearby “supervising” as you munched on snap peas. It felt natural to have you here in his little veggie kingdom. Taking the fruits of his labor, he whistled happily down the stairs, off to prepare something special for his someone special.
G
“So tell me again, why is Kyungsoo picking you up from my place?” your friend, Suzy, wondered aloud. “I mean–you guys live together, so…” she trailed off after giving you that look. You shrugged, unsure of how to explain to this self-proclaimed non-romantic. “He just thought it would be more exciting…”. And it was. Truthfully, it felt like your first date all over again–good gosh, you were even getting nervous. A knock sounded at the door, spurring you to smooth your dress and check your hair one last time. The door opened to reveal a GALLANT suitor looking resplendent (read: ) in a dapper, black three-piece suit. Kyungsoo extended his hand, gently taking your hand and placing it on his arm. He led you to a sleek, black town car, and soon you were speeding down the highway.
S
It had been difficult, but Kyungsoo had managed to keep his Valentine’s Day plans a complete surprise. He was a SECRETIVE man by nature, his job demanded it, and it was easy to hide details about his personal life from those who weren’t important. You were important and it almost physically hurt to keep something from you. Though he’d almost slipped once or twice he was confident you had no idea what was about to happen. Sliding a blindfold out of his pocket he motioned for you to turn so that he could secure it into place.
O
Even though your world was dark, you weren’t afraid at all. Kyungsoo kept a warm hand on your back as he guided you up a set of stairs. A door squeaked and you were hit with a rush of cool, night air. The soft, lilting tones of Ed Sheeran drifted through the night and you could swear you smelled Italian. Kyungsoo whispered in your ear, making you blush. He told you he loved you and was so very happy to spend another year with you. In the beginning, Kyungsoo hadn’t been so OPEN with his feelings. These days words of love spilled from his lips like wine, though you continued to treasure each one.
With a flourish, he removed the blindfold, revealing the most perfect setting you could imagine. Twinkling fairy lights lit up the familiar rooftop garden, a table set with gleaming silverware and fresh, white linens sat front and center. Pressing a kiss to your hand, Kyungsoo led you towards the table.
O
Kyungsoo couldn’t take his eyes off you. He observed as you savored the freshly baked bread rolls and twirled chicken fettuccine (your favorite) around your dainty fork, and inhaled a piece of divine dark chocolate cake. He knew you were wowed–the venue, the decorations, the food–you’d more than told him so. Yet, he was still unsettled, as he palmed the box hidden in his pocket. He was taking a big step–the step, in fact. He was OPTIMISTIC about his future with you, more than ready to truly have you as his own. After years of waiting, he’d finally have the love and warmth he so desperately craved. With shaking hands, he bent down on one knee…
❤
You said yes. Of course you said yes. How could you ever say no to the love of your life? The newly added weight to your left hand was a constant reminder of the most perfect Valentine’s Day. You weren’t sure how you were going to top this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration, but you figured you were up for the challenge. After all, there would be many more to come.
~*~
Thank you for spending Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo. I really enjoyed writing this one. Just fun imaginings and whatnot! Please re-blog if you enjoyed this too so that others can find it more easily. Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
XOXO,
Emmy
