Vendreia Celestine Huang—better known as Dree—was the kind of girl who made life feel like a delightful mix of hard work and endless fun. Born on May 5, 2005, in Harbin, China, she grew up in a privileged yet warm household where ambition and high expectations were the norm. With both of her parents being successful doctors, medicine was practically in her DNA.
But let’s get one thing straight—Dree wasn’t the type to bury herself in textbooks all day. She had a natural curiosity for everything life had to offer, from the latest fashion trends to café-hopping, spontaneous adventures, and, of course, collecting aesthetically pleasing stationery she swore she would use. While she admired her parents’ work, she also made sure to enjoy every little moment of life, always balancing her responsibilities with a touch of charm.
Growing up as an only child meant she had the best of both worlds—endless support from her family and the freedom to dream big. She went through countless hobby phases: ballet, violin, painting, horseback riding—you name it, she probably tried it. And while she didn’t stick to everything, she never saw it as a waste. To Dree, life was about experiencing things, not just achieving them.
By high school, she had fully embraced her social butterfly status. She was the kind of friend who always had something exciting planned, whether it was a last-minute trip to a new city or simply an elaborate study session that somehow turned into a gossip night. But behind her bright and carefree nature, she had a serious side too—one that came out whenever she talked about her future.
Watching her parents work had left a lasting impression on her. The way they changed lives, the way their patients trusted them—it was something she deeply admired. And while she considered other careers (because let’s be honest, being a fashion influencer did sound fun), she ultimately knew that medicine was where she belonged. She wanted to make a difference, just like her parents did. And more importantly, she wanted to work with children. Something about their pure, honest nature made her heart melt, and she imagined a future where she could create a safe and comforting environment for them as a pediatrician.
Now in college, Dree is fully immersed in her medical school journey, knowing that it’s the first step toward her dream. Med school is no joke—it’s exhausting, demanding, and requires a ridiculous amount of memorization—but if anyone can handle it while still making life fun, it’s Dree. Her dorm is filled with fairy lights, scented candles, and soft blankets, turning even the most stressful study nights into a cozy retreat. She still finds time for coffee runs with friends, indulges in self-care routines, and refuses to let the pressure take away her sparkle.
She knows the journey ahead won’t be easy. There will be long nights, tough exams, and moments of doubt. But Dree has never been the type to back down from a challenge. One day, she’ll be the kind of pediatrician who not only treats her little patients but also makes them feel safe and loved. And until then? She’ll keep learning, keep exploring, and, of course, keep making life as fabulous as possible.
