i may or may not have plans for a pirate au
and heres a few things about the picture:
-in this au i’d like to think that his constant time at sea would make his hair more frizzy, messy, and kinda curled at the ends when wet
-yes, that is a scar across the bridge of his nose. no, i wont tell you how he got it, yet ;)
-if you peek closer theres more on his chest, whoops
-hes gonna have a “unusual” upbringing
-and somehow gonna become a captain of a unfathomable vessel

“well good morning, mr. bossy–”
lmao when your pets dive bomb your bed in the am–my favorite was my bunny Hiccup bc he was small and easily distracted by cuddles and would loaf under the covers with me. current fav is my golden Herbie bc he too will settle down. my cat is the asshole, though, shocker.

idk about Ratatouille but I can see people in the notes talking about the HTTYD accent difference being purposeful and about creating a signifier between the older and younger generation, which is definitely true, but nobody’s mentioned how this was done as a reflection of writer/director Dean DeBlois’s experience as a Canadian. He’d grown up living in areas where a lot of the generation before them were immigrants from other countries so they had distinctly different accents to their children. He has spoken about it:
[In Canada] “where I grew up, all of my friends had parents who were from Italy or Portugal or some African country or Spain and they spoke with thick accents. But we all spoke in our North American accent. So my theory was that that Scottish accent is a remnant of wherever they came from (laugh).”
it’s so bizarre when animated American films are set in a certain location and then only certain characters have the accents of that place. It makes no damn sense!! like
