So being exposed to it again as an adult, especially the teenage years, is a "challenge". It's been a couple of weeks now and I've still been processing this. With the passing of Trugoy the Dove AKA Plug 2 AKA Dave AKA Dave Jude Jolicoeur I've been going back over my memories and what Dave and De La have contributed and influenced in my life. The answer is A LOT. As an 11 year old kid listening to a pretty broad range of genres it was De La Soul that realigned my focus on music and truly laid the foundation which led to a real love for hip hop. Not just for hip hop though for a broader expression of artistic influence and creativity. Still not quite sure what to make of it all but one thing that has helped is De La Soul taking back more control of their own music. So thoughts and prayers go out to his family, @plugwondelasoul, DJ Maseo and the whole @wearedelasoul crew.
