Well, my problem is very much the other side of the coin, my parents will come up with any excuse to try and keep my hair short and natural coloured. It’s kinda a major effort to shut them up about it.

I love my parents but it’s a bit weird when they try to control my appearance when I’m in my twenties.

is anybody elses mom like…oddly invested in their hair??? When I was a teenager my mom would never let me dye my hair, or cut it “too short” because she was always like “OH MY GOD NOOOO!!! YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY WHEN IT’S LONG!!! JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!!!” 

And even now that I’m an adult when I tell my mom I’m planning to cut my hair shorter she kind of cringes, and tries to talk me out of it. Like???? Lady what is your deal??? 1.) it’s my hair not yours I’m the one who decides what it looks like, 2.) it’s just hair….it’ll grow back. Chill.
