On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

notes on how i go about stylizing cats from reference.

ive observed when drawing a cat with extra fat, its easy to lose the form and have it look like a balloon animal. if you keep bony landmarks and silhouette in mind as you caricature this can be avoided. these landmarks are places like joints, the spine, some points of the ribcage, and certain bones in the face.

the joints are where you "break" the silhouette of the figure. these are essential to a strong drawing and selling the volume of your character. interpreting the contrast of straights and curves around the figure will give a visual rhythm and prevent your drawing from appearing stiff and lifeless. some inner descriptive lines in places where muscle, fur, skin and fat are more obvious create a more defined shape that can really add something extra if you find your drawing is appearing too flat.

selling the markings by having them follow the contours of the body will also really help in making sure your drawings come across as volumetric. its easy to slap them on as an afterthought, but copy pasted looking markings can totally ruin the illusion of your characters dimension!

this of course is all relative to your own goals when drawing a piece, if you want your art to be flat and graphic, go for it! i will say it always helps my design sense to understand how things work in a 3d space before i get really abstract with them. the more you can understand your subject the easier it is to find success with the end goal of your piece.

this also geared towards animation. when you can "see" clearly how the character is structured from every level, drawing them in sequential motion becomes just that much easier. thanks for reading!

It’s so hard to say no to my sister Soso, because it’s true : she has nothing that makes her happy at home. She doesn’t even really have a home, just a destroyed room with no door or windows that ten people have been sharing for months for an outrageous price. Her spine is visible due to the lack of food, she has so many vitamin deficiencies because fruits, vegetables and meat are so expensive. She barely sleeps because of hunger and the bombs. She has no toys to distract her during the day. What can I do? I want to give her her childhood back, but all I can offer her is an overpriced watermelon at the cost of my own meals. It’s okay. If it’s for her, it’s okay. We’re used to hunger anyway.

But it’s unfair that she has to be used to it too. She’s only four years old. The war started before her third birthday. Her first memories are of this genocide, she doesn’t know anything else. My heart breaks for her. Please help me protect her and her smile. I cried because of the money spent but my heart was warm because of her sudden joy. I want to protect that.

Please help, I swear I’ll be thankful for anything. If you can’t afford to donate, then please at least share and I won’t ask more of you. Please.

Recently, I've moved places twice and started travelling a lot often across cities, and university has kept me more busy, I still have some books I want to upload to the drive that I already have, but adding anything else will take a long time now.

The Main drive will be occasionally updated, but don't expect anything often.

The Mature drive will no longer receive updates.

I've also lost some interest in reading books, I prefer playing videogames, reading comics, manga or watching movies. I'm an animation student, I like seeing cool drawings and moving things. So working on the drive isn't very motivating to me anymore.

I'm still passionate about animal media, so I was thinking of doing more posts about animals and media in general, more art and animation resources, photography, etc. I had started on finding and cataloguing animated animals in movies and shows that could serve as an animation reference, so I could continue that.

I still haven't decided on doing anything though.
