You know I often wonder if there is like a parallel universe where the show did get picked up for Season 3 and would go on to like Season 10 with an actual ending and wrap up to the series.

And I wonder where the show would have gone by this point because we'd be nearing the end of Season 5 by now...

I have a couple of theories, but I dunno how popular they would be lol

Malcom is a funny guy. He has a bird called Sunshine! He use to work for the FBI, but now he consults with the NYPD on murder cases. He's very good at it! Look how much fun he has:

Dr. Whitly loves his family too, he would do anything for them and raised Malcolm with a loving hand! So why is he the reason Malcolm literally ties himself to his bed at night? *whisper whisper* OHHH THATS RIGHT!! We forgot to mention. Dr Whitly is a....

Bum Bum Bummmmmm!!!! Yep! He's a pretty bad guy! Killed 27 people! Brutally! And documented his "findings" too, Malcolm doesn't get his art skills from his mama! And guess who turned him in??......

That's right!! Baby (Ten year old) Malcolm!! Go Malcolm! Congrats on your first case! And Meeting Gil your future boss!!! That event is gonna emotionally stunt you forever! (That's why he can't make many friends)

Especially since his sneakily little papa wormed himself out of multiple death sentences and into a nice little mental institution, smack dab in the middle of New York City. Because like who wouldn't want a man who killed 27 people via surgical methods to consult on actual surgeries anymore? He may be a pycho, but he's got that PHd! He's also got phone privileges.....

Which is a terrible thing for Malcolm, but also a great one. After all, who better to help on a serial killer case, than another serial killer! It'll be like father son bonding time.....only the bonding really isn't helping anyone...

In conclusion:

All of Y'all should totally watch Prodigal Son on HBO (not free:() or the CW (Free!:)) and totally possibly hyperfixate on Malcolm like I sometimes do too because even though there's only like two seasons it's absolutely worth it! It's an interesting twist on the typical crime show with a lot of psychological innerturmoil drama. Ok thanks for coming to my ramble bye!!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Do you ever think about how Dr.Martin whitley has "steady as a statue" hands and he was a world renowned heart surgeon and Clay sculpter but he also used his delicate, unwavering touch to hurt and kill people while Malcolm "shaky hands" Bright has a tremor (courtesy of his serial killer father) and physically cannot handle a scalpel against skin but despite that he uses his trembling hands to save people, disarm weapons, give lollipops to his friends, collect ancient weapons, hold his bird Sunshine, paint messily, hold and comfort other victims, and make tea for Dani. How they are two very different sides of the same coin - down to the smallest detail - down to the hands, which may create or destroy? Because yea

I've known Bright since he was ten years old. He's got his demons, but he's not his father.

I think he probably did plan to. He probably thought he had no choice.

Malcolm saw too much, Martin has to protect himself, he has to kill him. He doesn't want to, but it's the only way to keep his secret. To keep his life.

But then the time comes... and he can't. That's his son. His baby boy. He can't do it. Deep down, he knew he wouldn't be able to - so he brought a friend along. Someone with less reservations and less of a personal connection to Malcolm, who wouldn't chicken out.

And then, little Malcolm, only 10 years old, cornered and afraid, defends himself to the death. He sinks his knife in Watkins' side and runs for his life.

And Martin sees. That's his boy, alright.

We're the same.

And there's a shift - if Malcolm has it in him to kill, then maybe Martin can nurture that. If he can get him to come around, then it's okay that he knows. He doesn't need to die - they can work together.
