Nikki gave her daughter an amused look over her cup as the tiny blonde tried to defend Anakin Skywalker. Nikki raised a hand to cut her off, before launching into her own spiel as to why Anakin was an idiot and should’ve just used his brain despite his unfamiliarity with that part of his body. “Mama! Can you not!” Kat suddenly wailed, putting her face in her hands as she shook her head. “Well, when you admit that I’m right then I’ll stop.” Nikki shrugged lightly. “But you’re wrong, Anakin was misunderstood and the council should’ve just gotten their head’s out of their butts!!” Nikki raised an eyebrow and snorted delicately. “Were we watching the same movies, Katarina? While I will admit that the Jedi Council made some stupid ass decisions so did Anakin, I mean honestly he was so deluded that he actually took it out on-.” Kat cut her off. “I give up! I give up! Not even my morning routine with Sean is worth this! I’m going to school! May the Force be with you, Mama!” Kat rolled her eyes dramatically as she snatched up her book bag and flounced towards the door. “And the new Star Trek movies were better anyway!” She called over her shoulder, cutting off Nikki’s “May the Force be with you” response. “What?! What did you say?! I am disowning you! You shall be a homeless sad, pathetic little kitten!” She called after her daughter before chuckling lightly and leaning back into her chair as she sipped at her tea. “Kids, honestly I wonder how Obi-Wan handled it alone I can barely handle it with the help I have.” She mumbled to herself.

Kat lit up even further at his suggestion and turned to look at Nikki with pleading eyes. “Oh can we, Mama, please?! He’s never been to a circus before and I LOVE the circus!” She begged and Nikki laughed lightly, reaching out to brush back Kat’s hair. “Oh who could say no to such pleading.” She teased lightly, causing Kat to cheer happily. She hoped a circus did come to Echo Valley and they could all go together, she’d love to tell Tane everything she knew about each part of the circus.
Nikki leaned back as she watched the man watch her daughter. Something about him seemed different but she couldn’t quite put her finger on what that something was. She let a hand fall onto Kat’s back and rubbed it lightly causing the small girl to let out a soft humming noise that almost sounded like a purr. Kat turned her head enough to catch sight of her mother with her good eye and smiled happily before turning her attention back to Tane.
“I guess.” Kat said doubtfully with a little shrug. Nikki shook her head lightly, Kat never could see the good qualities she had like her bravery and her compassion. Nikki could only hope over time the small girl would see them. “You’ve never left here! But there’s so much to see! I want to travel the world one day! Mama’s French and has been to Paris and I wanna go and Daddy’s Irish and goes to Dublin sometimes and I wanna go there too and I wanna go to London and I wanna see Greece and Italy and China and I want to go EVERYWHERE.” She exclaimed excitedly with a bright eye and a brighter smile. “Mama works alot so I have to remind her to sleep and eat.” Kat said with a wise nod as Nikki chuckled and gave Tane an aprreciative smile in return.
“Well, Dahlia was talking to a man who lived here, Mason. And when Sean and Kayt decided they wanted to open a new restaurant and auto shop somewhere, Sean decided he wanted to keep Dahlia as a staff member if she was willing to move and so they decided to come here where her online boyfriend was at. We just ended up moving here to be closer to Kayt again.” Nikki explained, keeping major details out of the story. It wasn’t really her story to tell and she wasn’t one hundred percent sure how much Kat knew about Kayt’s past.
“Ooh, can I, Mama?” Kat’s head whipped around so that she could look at her mother pleadingly. Nikki chuckled softly and held up a hand. “I have a few conditions. One, your homework must be done before any adventuring. Two, you must be home by curfew every night. And three, do not be as obnoxious as your father can be.” The third condition was an inside family joke and Kat giggled happily. “It’s a deal! As soon as I’m all healed up I’m going to come exploring and find your house and your garden!”
The old faerie chuckled at Kat’s excitement, her happiness positively infectious and filling the restaurant with a palpable light energy. It felt more and more like his own home the more he sat there, and it seemed to warm all those present, despite the upsetting circumstances that had drawn them together. In all his extensive time on the earth, Tane never ceased to be amazed by the inherent magic of children and it’s power to transform the very environment they were in. Even the human ones… it made him suspect for a moment that they were born with the same potential as other supernatural creatures… Then again, he didn’t truly know any of these humans. Perhaps they had all been drawn here for another reason… perhaps none of them were as human as they thought. But, there was no use dwelling on it now, or making assumptions. If he got to know some of them better, maybe he could find out more in time. And these particular humans seemed worth knowing. He wanted very much to know Kat and her mother better. Luckily, his natural openness and fondness for communion had already laid the groundwork for that.
The Te-Tini watched Nikki & Kat’s interactions and was further warmed by the natural energy that flowed between them. The love they shared was clear and strong and powerful like nothing else he had seen. It made him ache, somehow in a way that wasn’t clearly identifiable. But after a moment it occurred to him that it was likely because he had no children of his own. Sure, he had occasionally looked after some of the younger fae, but there were none that he shared this kind of special bond with. It was odd to feel something lacking by way of emotional connections… but truth be told a child of his own had always been something Tane wanted. And not even one of his own blood necessarily, just a child to raise, to live alongside him and share day-to-day companionship. Of the many relationships he’d had in the past, that was one that he’d been lacking.
For now, he put that unique loneliness out of his head. It was easy to do when he still had such interesting and bright people before him. Kat’s talk of travelling to other places was quite intriguing… it was just that he’d never had any wish to leave the island. He still didn’t, if he was being honest with himself… But hearing her excitedly babble about all the different places she wanted to see made him wonder if there was another place out there he could ever feel comfortable in. Then, Nikki began explaining an intricate web of connections, and how it had brought them all here, and Tane was back to his earlier line of thinking, that something more powerful than their human relationships had brought them there. “It must be nice to have so many familiar faces around in an unfamiliar place,” he said with a nod.
This island was mysterious, and its magic was intricate, and had a depth even he didn’t understand. Maybe the forest wanted them there… or maybe the entire island did, and the ocean around it… It was honestly impossible to tell, but he felt a sudden need to reconnect with nature in a way he hadn’t done in some time. Perhaps he could find answers there, or comfort for the strange itch he was beginning to feel. And as much as he hated to admit it, he was feeling a bit drained from his earlier use of magic. He was feeling a pull to the forest so he could recharge his energy, and attend to the spots of the forest that were scarred by the fire. He hated to leave when he had just become acquainted with these two, and quite enjoyed their company. But, he would leave with the knowledge that he’d see them again, at least, and that was enough for now. Getting to know them more was something he greatly looked forward to.
“I hate to leave so suddenly, but unfortunately I have a few other errands to attend to today,” he said with an ease, admiring smile. “I look forward to seeing you and your lovely mother again soon, Kat. You’re both welcome at my home any time. It’s a big old cabin on the edge of the woods, and it’s overgrown with all kinds of plants. I’m sure you’ll be able to find it. I hope you enjoy your meal, sorry for keeping you from it for so long.”

Violet chuckled and nodded at Kat’s cheeriness. “Absolutely not, there’s always another mouth to feed.” Violet smiled lightly when she watched the two of them interacting. “Where there’s a will there’s a way, even if we soften them up in milk first and she mushes at them.” Violet nodded, laughing brightly when Cassidy let off a reel of laughter and clapped her little hands, gurgling away on Violet’s hip. “Yes you are very vocal today, maybe tonight you might sleep all night like you have been doing.” She nodded as she kissed her daughter’s forehead. “Well, you have my parents to thank for that, they’re the ones that really did all of the thinking for me.”
Kat grinned and nodded. “Awesome!” She bounced away from the two women to pick at the food table and check out the pool. Nikki shook her head lightly as she watched her daughter before glancing back at Violet and Cassidy with a grin as the baby laughed and gurgled. She couldn’t help the pang of something that hit her as she watched the baby. She’d always wanted kids, loved children and babies and all of that and she’d never regret getting Kat when she did. But she sometimes did wish she had a baby of her own to take care of. “Well, I’ll be sure to do that before we leave. She’s finally hit the ‘sleeping through the night’ stage?”

witchyella:
Ella nodded when she mentioned natural remedies, something in her had said that was exactly what was going to happen with it, something told her she was going to need that, and yet she still thought there was something the hospital could have at least tried to do. She dipped her head and sighed softly, registering what needed to happen. “I-yeah.. I thought that might be the case I-thank you. For that.. Looking.. Trying to help.”
Nikki nodded unhappily, she loathed that she couldn’t help Ella more. “I could try to give you something for pain but there’s no guarantee that it’ll work.” She tucked her hair behind her ear again and gave a soft sigh. “A coworker of mine gave me the name of someone in town who might be able to help with Kat’s burns, she might be able to help you too? Maybe you’ll know her.” She dug through her pockets until she found the card with the woman’s name and address on it. “Maira Hudson?”

maxlightfoot:
Maxwell looked confused when the world seemed to be turning to a point where he’d have to climb out of the ocean and just hope his legs grew in place when he got out. He made his way to the ladder, his upper arms dragged him the first bits out of the water and then he pulled himself up further and by the time he was standing stark naked on the dock he was back to his more human self. A smile formed on his face. “Thank you, god knows I need those to remain decent.”
Nikki had turned her back on the ladder and took a few steps away to give the man some privacy to get dressed. “Mama!” Kat protested impatiently. “One moment, Katarina.” She said the girl’s name with a warning in her tone and Kat huffed before falling silent once more. She gave an unladylike snort at the man’s words and shook her head lightly. “Yes, that is usually why people wear clothes, for decency and protection against the elements.” She chuckled lightly.

sean-knives:
“Okay well now see I can understand why there’s so much practice there then.” He chuckled, shaking his head, he recalled yelling at the phone that Kayt was having a conversation with her brother on, on the way to hospital, that he was going to call and let him listen to the chorus of Connor screaming at him down the phone. Sean hadn’t heard his reply but he could laugh about it now. Sean sighed softly as he watched Nikki lay Connor down so gently, it was easy for him to think that he might break him, he was so tiny, so small. He almost felt clumsy with him. Sean smiled lightly, “what would we do without you?” He asked as he settled into a chair, as much as he had to do things, he was spending more and more time with Connor. He needed to be here for him.
She laughed softly and nodded, “Didn’t take me long to get him to listen to me but he still gave me a run for my money sometimes.” She shook her head lightly when she thought about all the trouble Nate used to get into when they were kids. The blonde boy was always screaming for the world to notice him with his actions, it took him a while to realize that he was noticed and he didn’t have to act out to do it. “You would all forget how to eat and sleep and function as normal human beings and would wear yourselves thin and insane if I weren’t around to keep you all in check.” She replied dryly, giving him an amused look. She stretched and leaned against the wall near the crib, glancing at the time. Kat would probably come and try to visit soon, since school was about to let out.

Mason gave a small sigh, at least his face wasn’t too badly damaged. “I’d say thankfully but I don’t think I really rely on my face for all that much so I don’t think it matters that much.” He attempted a joke, but after the explination of who she was he nodded, even if there was nothing there it wouldn’t hurt. “And… If it’s not too much trouble my shoulder, I injured it in the fires and I landed on it, relatively hard.” Mason nodded, “I’ve heard her name but I haven’t seen her yet, but soon.”
She raised an eyebrow and gave him a faint smirk, “Trust me the world would probably be devastated if a face like yours was permanently damaged.” She gave a relieved smile when he nodded before listening to him. “Yeah, I can do that.” Her fingers were gentle and light as she felt around his rib cage, checking for anything out of the ordinary, before the fluttered up to his shoulder to gently poke and prod. She didn’t even think twice about tugging his shirt out of the way to examine him better. “Mm, she’s just turned twelve and is excited for the upper levels of schooling.” She sighed lightly and rocked back on her heels. “Well, without x-rays I can only tell so much but everything seems to be in order. Though you may have some bruised ribs I don’t think they’re cracked or broken. But like I said that would be easier to tell with an x-ray.”

annaelhudson:
Annie was almost surprised to see Nikki. After having not gone to the woman’s daughter’s party, this was the first time she’d seen Kat in some time. She was nearly shocked to see the scarring on the girl, but held her composure. It brought tears to just behind her eyes, welling up in her ducts, but refusing to fall. She hated that someone so sweet and innocent could be so hurt. Annie gave a stiff nod, “Yeah- yeah, it’s my mom.” She nodded, pushing her hair back with one hand, and closing her palm around her cigarette with the other. She didn’t wince as the embers burned her hand, nor as the magic quickly healed it. “she’s inside with a patient, but I can take a look in the mean time, if you’d like. Please, come in.” Annie opened the door wide and gestured the two in. She wondered if Nikki knew about magic yet, and that was why she was here. She figured it would be best to find out how Nikki learned about her mother, but didn’t trust herself enough to ask.
“So uh-” she started as she closed the door behind her, “how did you…. uh- learn about my mom?” she asked, moving over to the sitting room’s couch, and patting seat of a cushy chair for Kat, “come sit here, ngeru.” she smiled, the word rusty on her tongue, but meaning “cat” in maori.
Nikki blinked as she recognized the woman and cuoldn’t help but smile lightly, especially when Kat gave a soft cry of recognition and started babbling about the woman’s magic trick from before and how she wanted to see more. Nikki gently reached out to swat her daughter’s hand when Kat itched at the edge of the burn by her eye. “Your Mama is a doctor too?” Kat asked excitedly as she bounced into the house, causing Nikki to hiss lightly. Kat calmed herself and walked at a more sedate pace, giving the woman an apologetic smile.
“A woman at the hospital where I work, Maria, told me about her. Said that some of the stuff she uses is better than any medicine I could get at the hospital or a pharmacy. All things considered I figured it’d be worth a try.” She shrugged lightly. She was still a little wary of the whole supernatural thing but was willing to do anything to make Kat more comfortable. The little blonde girl didn’t recognize the word that Annie used but found herself letting out a playful cat noise as she grinned and squirmed into the chair.

lianalost:
Liana felt relief as the small human peeked her head round. Liana was full of anger and hurt, and unafraid to lash out, but she would never want to upset a child. If she did that, she’d be a complete monster. Worse than fae.
“Just lost in thought” she said with a sad smile “it’s peaceful down by the water, helps me clear my head when there’s a million things running through it.” Liana smiled a little brighter at the young girl “I absolutely love the way you’ve done your hair today, it’s very pretty.”
Nikki glanced down at Kat, who gave her a small nod, if Kat felt okay with the woman now then Nikki was prepared to give her another chance. She gave the woman a soft, almost apologetic, smile and gently nudged Kat forward a little more.
“That’s why I like going to the forest. It’s nice and peaceful and I can play or just sit and think.” Kat chirped lightly, rocking back on her heels. “I’m more of a work through my thoughts kind of person.” Nikki chuckled lightly, she always threw herself into work more when she had a lot on her mind. “Thank you.” Kat said shyly, touching the shaved side of her head before touching the thick braid that was on the other side. “Are you new to town?”

Kayt smiled lightly and nodded, “yeah, they’re always there. You’ll probably fight more than you would with friends, but you’ll also be stronger together.” she put her hand over her stomach as she felt a particularly strong kick from her generally weak baby. She’d been worried about his weakness, but passed it off to Kayt just being pain-resistant.
Kayt was nearly shocked to see such a difference in her niece. To go from hating the idea of someone coming along, to being so excited that the little one was coming so fast. “Not long now, just a few more months,” she was due for the very end of April, early may. “Shut up,” Kayt murmured in response, a smile on her lips as she said it. Kayt furrowed her brows as she caught words here and there that Kat was whispering to her belly, and was mildly excited now, that Connor would have someone who loved him such.
Kat snorted lightly and gave her Aunt a knowing look, weren’t they just in a weird little fight. “Families fight. Doesn’t mean they don’t love each other.” She gave a soft shrug. She couldn’t remember her real parents much except from the incident that took them from her, though everyone said she shouldn’t remember that either, but she knew that families some times fought.
“Soon, squirt, you’ll be here and I can show you all this stuff.” She mumbled into her Aunt’s belly. A sudden wave of sleepiness came over her and she gave her mother an accusing look, there was a reason why she hadn’t wanted to take her pain medicine. She yawned lightly and curled into Kayt, draping herself across the woman’s lap as well as she could. Nikki smirked at Kayt lightly and shook her head softly. “You’re just mad cuz I was right .... again.... as usual.” She teased lightly. “How are things?”

maneatertane:
In the pure and unfiltered forest, it was difficult for even someone as old as Tane to disguise any of his emotions, especially when they happened suddenly. And so at the mention of a name he knew very well, there was instantly an air of surprise in the glen between them that he could not repress. “…Ella?” He was concerned immediately that his reaction might worry Nikki, but he was equally concerned with the situation being described. The night of the fire… it had been Ella she was referring to? Ella had been the one in such a distraught emotional state that she’d walked through the fire, and in front of humans no less? What had happened? It was easy to see now why her energy had been so chaotic when they had first met…although honestly he had attributed that mostly to the fact that she was being attacked at the time. But it also did a lot to explain the underlying darkness that he felt constantly just beneath the surface whenever he was with her. He looked down at the forest floor, processing, and the woods around him seemed to pick up on his confusion and slight tension, beginning to stir up with wind and sounds of leaves and branches rustling. “Ella?” he repeated. “Are you sure?”
He wasn’t sure why he asked that- it was entirely within the realm of possibility and honestly, it would explain a lot about Ella’s recent state of mind that he’d been wondering about… Not that it actually explained much at all… he still had no idea why she was so upset that night. But suddenly it felt as if he was a step closer to her that he wasn’t capable of gaining by his own power. But that wasn’t important now, as much as he knew he couldn’t ask Ella directly about that night without cause, he knew he’d only feel deceitful and underhanded if he tried to get any answers from Nikki instead. He’d find out more when the time was more appropriate. Right now there was no reason to keep pursuing this line of thought. It was time for Nikki and her questions now, and although there was a lot he still didn’t know about Ella, there was something he could tell her that was relevant.
“Well, whatever was going on, I’m sure she doesn’t mean any harm to you or Kat,” he said reassuringly, hoping she wouldn’t pursue the matter further. Ella’s secrets were not his to tell, and so he felt he couldn’t explain about her being a Mataku. He felt bad hiding any knowledge from Nikki, but he was sure Ella wasn’t a danger at this point. The energy of unanswered questions that lingered around him died down as he calmed himself and made it fade from his wandering mind. The forest hollow also stilled and calmed again, reflecting his energy as it always did. They could hear the soft sound of water trickling through the streams again, and the songs of bird singing distantly. He turned his attention back to the questions he could answer, and refocused his attention on the lovely woman in front of him, whose song and love for her daughter had moved him so deeply. This wasn’t about him and his questions, it was about hers.
“The Fire Folk… they tend to have red hair,” he elaborated, walking a little circle around the glen to better connect himself back to nature, all the little plants and grasses from the ground bending to reach his outstretched hand. He loved the instantly calming effect this forest had on him, and he could only hope now that the proper introductions and tributes had been made, Nikki and Kat could find the same solace there whenever they were in need of it. “But it makes sense that it wasn’t one of them, they tend to like fires. They’re your traditional ‘faerie tale’ kind of faeries, dancing around big bonfires and the like… Good people generally but not much help when one wants to put out a fire…”
There were many connections between the forest itself and all other life, even now as he felt the pulse of the forest around them, he could connect it to what they were discussing currently. “You know, many young Te-Tini are very confused by fires, because we do try to put them out, to defend the forest… But afterwards we embrace the charred remains of the forest again. We tend to new trees there, we take our children there to learn about… the balance of nature and life. And they eventually learn, out of dark and painful things, new life can grow and thrive, new experiences… They understand more having seen these dark things… and I think the same is true for all children. As much as we would like to protect them from it all, learning these things and being exposed to the darkness helps them grow stronger, just as trees grow stronger in an area destroyed by fire.”
He paused for a moment and knelt down to put his hand more flatly against the earth where they stood. The healing energies of this place were especially so strong, being as deep as they were in the forest, and yet he knew there was an ancient history of darkness and death here, things that the plants had grown over like scars covering and protecting old wounds. He turned and smiled to Nikki again and suddenly she seemed just as powerful as the woods they stood in, despite being human. But he was beginning to understand that there was magic in all things, even places he didn’t expect. Some humans weren’t so bad… “The forest is a great mother, and we and the trees within, her children… It is because of her love and nurturing that we are made strong after hardships. Kat grew into the kind and loving girl that she is because she had a strong mother in you, Nikki. Your love is a light, and a shining water that helps the plants of her heart grow, and heal over her scars.” As he spoke, the plants under his hand warmed to his light and his touch, and grew up between his fingers, circling up his arm to where he still had scars of his own from the fire. The forest would see to healing him, and then perhaps she would be able to see her own power just as she could see the power of the forest around them.
She tilted her head at his reaction, tucking her hair behind her ear before giving a slow nod. "Yeah, she was ... I don't know how to describe other than ... insane." She winced at the word. "It was like she'd lost a big part of her or something. Like she'd lost something so important nothing else mattered any more." She wrinkled her nose petulantly, she didn't like it when people second guessed her, she was a bit of a pain about that. "Yes, I'm sure. I've seen her since and she seems more with it now. More mellow and comfortable in her own skin, in a way."
She gave another slow nod, "I don't think so either. She's quite different when she's mellowed out. She reminds me of someone I used to know, I just can't quite put my finger on who." She chuckled lightly. Something about Ella reminded her of an old friend, but which old friend she wasn't sure. Maybe it was more like Ella reminded her of someone who would've fit in with The Angels when they were teenagers.
She snapped back to attention as he began to speak and move around the glen. She set her violin case on a nearby rock and found herself drifting after him. Her feet barely making a sound as she moved, she could blame years of dance training for her light steps. "Fire folk huh? I'm not sure if I'm intrigued or concerned." She chuckled lightly, she ached to know more about it all though. She'd always been a know-it-all growing up and always wanted to know everything about anything that interested her. And this was a subject she found herself very interested in.
She felt like his words were echoing throughout the forest around them. There was almost a pulsing in the air, though that was crazy, she looked around at the forest around them and her breath caught in her throat. It was like she was seeing it all for the first time. Everything was bright and dark at the same time, like the light was growing out of the shadows in an enchanting way, showing her how wonderful and strong it was. She thought that this must be how Kat saw the forest, maybe even how the young blonde saw the world. Everything was new and exciting, an adventure waiting to happen. There was always something to explore and understand and protect and take care of for Kat, nothing was scary or worrisome.
She drifted closer to him when he knelt down, quietly sinking to her knees. She smiled back at him a tad shyly, an emotion she wasn't quite used to feeling, and felt her face flush once more at his praise. Her mouth dropped open as plants began to grow up between his fingers and she leaned forward with the eagerness of a curious child, the eagerness her daughter often displayed. "Amazing." She breathed, reaching out towards the plant tentatively, her fingers stopping just short of touching them where they'd circled up his arms over his scars.

so-fae-ia:
A result of her upbringing meant that Sophia found herself being far too open, far too free, and yet when she felt like she was being reserved, she felt herself being stared at, being looked down on. But the good thing about it was it had taught her just how to have a thick skin, so lying here on the front lawn reading in next to nothing she simply managed to roll her eyes when someone made a tutting noise. The great thing about living in one of the fancier parts of town was people who were too stuck up to even stop and talk to her, and she took liberation in that fact. She looked up when someone walked past again, not paying all that much attention, and her eyes fell back down to her book. It really was a great book. A smile formed on her face as she looked up at the person still standing there. “If you stare for too long I might get naked and depending on you that could become awkward, then again if it doesn’t you never know where you might end up.”
“I’ll pass thanks.” Nikki chuckled at Sophia’s words. She shot an amused look at someone nearby who was giving the other brunette a scandalized look. “You’d think they’d never seen a pair of legs before.” She joked lightly with a grin. “Having a nice sun bath?” She asked before holding out at gift bag. “I hope this is something you’ll like. I wanted to thank you for pretty much feeding everyone through all the craziness we’ve all been going through.” She smiled faintly. From the forest fire to Kat’s injuries to Dahlia’s suicide attempt to Kayt delivery Connor and the poor baby being stuck in the hospital, she knew the only reason anyone ate decently anymore was because of Sophia.

vedikapriyam:
It was cold… was it always this cold?? Vedika felt like she was shivering the more and more she got away from the hospital, which probably wasn’t good… but she needed to get the hell out of there. Too long in a sterile box did bad things to her psyche, as if it wasn’t weak enough already from her long stint in the woods… And it was so damn bright and clean, it was driving her crazy. Her apartment was never clean… not that it was disgusting or anything, just messy. Still, she needed something… dirty… something unhealthy even. Honestly, a burger sounded like the best thing ever, but she’d settled for a cigarette if she could get one.
Catching sight of a person passing her by on the street as she subtly fled from the direction of the hospital, Veda didn’t even look too closely at who they might be before calling after them. “Hey! Do you happen to have a cigarette I can bum from you?” she called, realizing belatedly that she felt like shit warmed over, and probably looked twice as bad.
Nikki’s head jerked around as someone called out to her and she raised an eyebrow at the woman. She looked like she’d been through hell and had barely made it out to the other side. “Uh, sorry, I don’t smoke. I know too much of what it does to you.” She frowned in concern as she examined the woman. “Are you alright? Do you need some help somewhere?” She tucked her hair behind her ear, the woman looked like she shouldn’t be out and about and Nikki wondered if she needed to go to the hospital.

witchyella:
The woman that walked into the room she hadn’t been expecting but she was scared a little bit more than she would have been if it had of been someone she knew better. She knew that the woman was a doctor so she couldn’t say that she was scared of her, but what she could say is that she hoped there might be something more she could do for her. Ella bit her lip lightly and took another drink of the coffee that was in front of her. “Hi.. I um..” She flicked her blanket down showing the black oozing wound. “I got in a fight and came out second best… They keep dressing it and everything but… The dressings hurt and they don’t know how to fix it.” She shrugged lightly, leaning into her hand. “They’re trying but I’m not the best patient.”
Nikki frowned lightly as she listened to Ella speak and her eyes widened in shock when she saw the wound on the blonde’s side. She moved closer to examine it, gently feeling around the wound before frowning deeper. “This isn’t normal... I’ve never seen anything like this.” She leaned back and tucked her hair behind her ear as she thought things over. “I don’t know if regular medicine will help this. You may have to try natural remedies.”
