Geraldoâs Controversial Statement
I do not agree with Geraldoâs statement that âTrayvonâs hoodie is what got him killedâ. I do not agree because an article of clothing shouldnât criminalize people, especially kids. When Geraldo gives his reasoning on why kids who wear  hoodies are âthugsâ, he only mentions black and brown kids. That leads me to think that hoodies make you a thug but only if your skin is dark. In contrast to Haileyâs statement, both comments were insensitive and based of stereotypes. Both Hailey and Geraldo equated a whole life to something small, for example a hoodie. Hailey felt that sense Khalil was a suspected drug dealer, he didnât deserve justice and Geraldo felt that since Trayvon wore a hoodie, he had it coming. All in all I do not agree with Geraldoâs statement at all.

A+ Student
The key components to being a A+ students is to be disciplined, self aware, and confident. These three components are what keep students resilient and keep a will to learn. I think these components can help me a lot because I struggle with staying motivated when it come to schoolwork. I strive to have a particular future but itâs just very difficult to stay motivated, so I think these components will benefit me a lot. The messages of perseverance, determination, and resilience are delivered very frequently throughout the video. I think theyâre delivered so frequently because it emphasizes just how important it is to be a A+ student.Â

Who Do You Want To Be ?
The purpose of the video is help people find direction and purpose in their life. The video include many successful men telling stories from before the success & what it took to be the person they wanted to be. Since covid has started it has impacted so many people, especially students. Many students have lost motivation to try in school and most students mental health has declined tremendously. I think that this video can give me and many other students a boost or a purpose to want to apply themselves during these inconvenient times. Personally I am not sure who I want to be just yet but I know that putting in the hard work and effort and school now will make it easier for me to be the person I want to be in the future.Â

3 wishes
First of all, can I wish for more wishes? Three won't be enough for me.
If not, then I'll have to try to get the three most important things I want.  A cure of all diseases, illnesses, hunger, thirst, etc. in the world. No more disasters, wars, violence, hatred, prejudice, etc. in the world. I would also wish for my entire bloodline to live comfortably to their standards. I would wish for cures or illness and no hunger because its something that can be avoided and is possible. I would wish for world peace because who doesnât want world peace? Lastly, i would wish for my whole family to live comfortably ( to their standards) what I mean by that is that if all my great great granddaughter wants is a small but cozy home then she can obtain it or if my son wants a mansion and that would be the most comfortable lifestyle for him then he would be able to have it.

Closing Assignment
My name is Dejah. Dejah is of African decent and means âCreative spiritâ and in English ,âremembranceâ. Itâs combination of both my mom and dadâs name. Growing up I never really had problem with my name but I always thought it was kind of plain. Eventually I grew to love it, my name represents me more than I thought, and I wouldnât want to change it for the world.Â

What makes someone a hero?
What makes someone a hero is the ability to push through adversity. Heroes are put up against all types of obstacles and challenges but they never lose sight of their goals and morals. The hero in my life is my mom. My mom works day in and day out to provide, sheâs been put up against so many obstacles but has gotten through all of them with a smile on her face. I owe so much to her and she has shaped the person I am today. If anybody is the definition of a hero itâs my mom !Â

About Me
Welcome to my Blog!
My name is Dejah, I was born and raised here in Atlanta. My favorite hobby is listening to music. I could probably listen to any genre of music if it sounds good to me. My favorite color is purple and my dream college is FAMU.Â
I have high expectations for myself and Ms. Bryant. I did pretty well in literature last year but I hope to do even better this year. Although we will be doing school virtually which makes it difficult to stay motivated, I still expect to push through the circumstances and inconveniences to have a good school year, and I hope Ms. Bryant will do the same.
I have a pretty adaptive learning style, so I can pick up different things pretty quickly. Iâm ok with all teaching styles but I do favor one, which is visual learning. My least favorite teaching style is hands on teaching, but itâs definitely not an issue. I hope to learn about different places and their impact on literature. Iâm very eager to learn what Ms. Bryant has to offer, I am certain we will have a smooth and productive school year!
