GUK: hmmmm idk, getting to know people demands too much effort.. i'd rather just play games. i'm not really good at, um... socializing :/
GUK: but i mean- i would go if there's food included
GUK: i would have freaked out if that ever happened to me LMAO but yes pls keep me updated
Jaesun: that's fair but you can't only socialize by playing games with others
Jaesun: Fine, next time pizza and drinks OUTSIDE and it's on me
Jaesun: luckily all the training did wonders and i managed to look calm and plan the best way out of there. hopefully there aren't updates though

Jaesun: the entire time i was wondering if i would have to deal with her talking to me or if i should just run away to avoid it all

it feels like winning when he abandons his training to trail after her. he’s not doing much with his training time if all he’s doing is try to get himself decapitated, anyway. he can put his time and that cocksure attitude that irritates her so much to better use; he’s much more tolerable that way.
she doesn’t deign to give him a smile, just turns in the direction of her office and starts walking. “try to keep up,” she says. her pace is brisk and assured, and no one stops to wonder, or try to catch her eye. she doesn’t turn back to check on him; they are no orpheus and eurydice, there are no feelings behind their actions and no need for her to turn back like an overeager teenager.
she opens the door to her office. this is her office, and her rules – not that it’s ever been the other way around. but this is about setting a tone, so she nods to the couch and locks the door with a click.
“sit.”
Jaesun knows she’s in control at the moment but he doesn’t care. As much as they didn’t get along, he actually liked her cold attitude towards him. It was sort of their thing and sometimes he would even try to get that out of her. It was all about having fun and this was much hotter to him anyways.
He doesn’t say anything, instead he keeps on following her, a couple of steps behind her as he did so. Making sure it didn’t seem like there was anything to see there by not being too close to her. His eyes however kept wandering to her, studying her body as she moved.
Sure, normally he’s the one taking charge and being in control but he did enjoy this dynamic they had. Jaesun didn’t say anything in response, instead he simply followed what she said and sat down on the couch. “Tell me, seoyeon. What do you want?” he questions, smirking while his eyes wander around her body.

“What’s the point if it’s a stationary target?“
Jiwon gathers five knives from the table– two kunais, two military grade throwing knives, and a balisong he pockets for a moment. Standing as a human target requires a certain level of trust (something he and Jaesun didn’t have). And as Jiwon ambles into the room he stops next to the other agent, shoulders close but not touching, and smoothly flicks the knives into a box pattern around Jaesun’s own dagger.
“If you want to practice–” With his hands free, Jiwon draws out the balisong. “Let’s practice. First person to draw blood. Nothing deep.“
He’s not the best shot but daggers are his specialty. He doesn’t plan on letting Jaesun off easy.
Jaesun raises his eyebrows as he stares at the other guy curiously. He was clearly good at knife throwing but he felt weird about trusting him. Normally he would be reckless enough not to question whether he should trust the other in this occasion but this time, he was feeling strange about it. Maybe it was because of his cockiness. It caught him off guard and made him want to take back what he said. Yet if he did, it would be like showing weakness.
“It seems you have practiced knife throwing more than I have.” he admits but still goes and grabs his knife from the target. “Are you aware of how weird it seems to bet on first person to draw blood?” he asks, smiling while shaking his head at how creepy the other made the challenge. “Alright. Let’s do it then.” he flicks his knife.

“there is no they and i,” she bites out, “we are an agency. remember that.” and that’s all she can think to say to that; her misgivings about any agent can never extend to anything more than personal opinions, or hwarang would undoubtedly fall to distrust and broken teamwork. as loathe as she is to admit it, she’d rather not have jaesun ruin his minimally acceptable record or any other agents he has to work with, with his inferiority complex.
he caves, moving closer in, and with that she knows she’s got him. seoyeon tilts herself into him for a brief, charged moment… then she’s stepping back out of reach, pushing his hand away from her face with two fingers. she schools her face back into propriety and smiles at him, ice cold and professional, no sign of the emotions he’d teased out left in her expression. she knows his pride won’t let her go just like that.
“focus on your training, or put that time to better use. i’ve got work to do.”
“Yeah, I know. We are all a team and of course, I’d stick by everyone in here. But you’re deflecting.” They have always done this, it’s nothing new. He’s more than used to hearing her call out his behavior and the way he does things. They might have something going on but it has never extended to anything other than physical. When it comes to actually having a conversation it tends to be negative.
Jaesun does have to admit that her attitude is something he does enjoy. She isn’t sweet or caring and for what they have, that’s ideal. She’s all business and that’s what this feels like. They don’t really care for each other yet they have their needs. Besides, she is very attractive and something about how cold she can be only makes it more so.
Of course, he can’t just let her walk away like that. So he immediately follows her, getting rid of the knife by throwing it at the target before doing so. “I was thinking, maybe you could teach me a thing or two about the work you do. What do you say?”

“don’t flatter yourself, we’ve got files on all the agents,” seoyeon says, “and yours stands out for the wrong reasons.” his insecurity about his background shows, and she sighs. “take that chip off your shoulder. every agent in here, legacy or not, has passed the same test and survived everything you have without the headache you bring. we’re not here to stroke your ego.”
she can’t say she expects more from the agents with a legacy behind them, with the sort of training that prepares them to do anything for the agency, ingrained from young into who they’ve grown into; she’s learnt, in the decade she’s been with the agency, that having a legacy only guarantees the skills, and none of the conviction, and that’s what makes an agent. but people like jaesun don’t help, either – the reckless, almost pedestrian way he attacks his missions doesn’t do much to convince her otherwise.
he keeps his face straight but it betrays him anyway, pupils blown wide when she steps closer. if this were in the privacy of her office she’d have him against the wall and gasping by now, but the training room is open to all agents and she isn’t interested in having any of this spill out. with no one around, though, she feels safe taking one more step forward, edging him backwards, letting her eyes drop from his gaze to his lips and then further down.
“call it charity,” she says, bringing her gaze back to his, and this time she allows herself a smirk.
“So you have read all the files on all the agents? Or were you just that interested in mine?” he questions, wanting to make this about anything other than his short comings. “I’m sure being conditioned to think a certain way since birth helps. In any case, I’m still having fun and enjoying myself and I’d rather die doing that than make this job boring like they do.”
In reality his need to be reckless was less about fun and more about feeling alive by being in danger. And if he were to die, then so be it. For him life was all about enjoying it, otherwise what was the point? Why would he try to follow every rule and make this job the same as any desk job?
His eyes followed her, if they were somewhere more private right now they would be touching and he has to admit it’s too tempting even if they are in the training room. “I’ll pretend that I believe that.” he responded, a smirk matching hers. “I don’t think you’d be all over me if I was that much of a charity case. Considering there’s a lot more options out there.” His hand moves to touch her chin, leaving it to rest there as he got closer to her face while speaking those words.

NEED SURGES through his sinews as he goes about his day , body aching with tension and coiling — threatening to snap . it’s been a while since he’s had a chance to scratch this kind of itch , maybe even too long ( he decides ) as he finds himself walking through the recreational wing — looking for agent drosera . he’s grown familiar with the other man’s habits by this point , maybe even too familiar ( he agrees ) . byeol walks into one training room , one he knows the other frequents . ‘ i thought i’d find you here , ’ he lets out quietly as he enters , eyes catching the other’s before he raises a brow . and without another word , byeol walks up and situates himself before the target , turning to face the other . the ghost of a smirk appears upon pale lips , ‘ impress me . ’
He raises his eyebrows in surprise as the other speaks, they had began to know each other in a way different to how he thought they would. Having someone notice things such as in where he usually was is strange but amusing. “I see.” he spoke out, smirking before continuing, “So you were looking for me.” He watches as the other man walks up to the target and stands in front of it, accepting his challenge. “Don’t I always?” he asks, facing the target and holding up the knife. “What’s my prize if I do impress you?”

“results, let’s see… three agents injured on the jindo operation, cover blown and multiple casualties on the imugi operation, and what was it the last agent you worked with said about you?” seoyeon’s smile is sharper, meaner this time, egging him on. “outstanding results.”
there’s nothing wrong with enjoying his job, but jaesun… he takes too much pleasure in it, throwing caution and all his painstaking training to the wind. anything assigned to him becomes a headache in paperwork, and she knows too well how badly agents like that can end. part of her detests how easily he slides by on good luck and the most basic skills for all those operations that have gone south because of him. then again, it’s that part that makes what they do fun.
his cocksure attitude makes her want to roll her eyes, and it’s only her poise that keeps her from doing so. even then she still steps into his personal space, crowding him out and too close for comfort, but jaesun’s well familiar with that. “your, hmm, skills leave much to be desired, jaesun,” she says, and the sharp edges of her tone make cutouts of the innuendo behind her words.
Jaesun felt like he was being scolded, having to listen to her point out everything he had done wrong in the past. He scoffed, dismissing what was said and crossing his arms, as if creating a barrier between them. “I will admit my methods aren’t perfect. But so what? Wouldn’t this job get boring if it was always the same pretentious legacy agents going on missions and doing nothing worth speaking of?” he argued. “You can’t tell me you’d rather read a report for their missions than mine. You know mine are much more interesting that must be why you’ve apparently been reading up on me. And memorizing it all so well.”
He watched as she gets closer, his mind immediately going to what normally happens when she’s this close to him. It’s a struggle not to let it show in his expression but he has been trained to have a good poker face. “Do they?” he asked, faking being in deep thought. “I thought you had been enjoying my skills. That was why you kept coming back for more.”

her responding smile is tight, with no give to it. “please refrain from injuring your fellow agents or,” a brief flick of her eyes down his body, “yourself.”
it’s not a response she’d save purely for him; any sort of reckless isn’t approved of, in her books, but his are written with it in big, bold letters. she’s seen his file, his track record of absolutely going against hwarang guidelines and protocol and just making a huge mess of things, somehow coming out of it successful in the end. it’s fine, she supposes— his success rate is high, even if his casualties and damage rate is equally high, and if he is somehow unsuccessful due to his unorthodox methods then, well, there isn’t much to be said in front of his casket.
but she won’t be allowing that, today.
“turn your knives to the target, jaesun.”
Always the uptight one when it came to this. Clearly raised by legacy parents, he didn’t need to ask or be told to figure that one out. Her lack of recklessness or need to make things less fun told him that the moment they met. “Ay ay, captain. Nobody will be injured.” he confirmed, with a nod. “I’m good enough to not injure anyone even if they stood in front of the target. Or do you doubt my skill set?” he questioned, raising his eyebrows as he stared at her, moving to pick up his knife.
“Or what?” he was of course trying to get a reaction out of her. “Agent Azalea, do you know of the concept of fun?” Sometimes he questioned why these people were even here. Most of them didn’t seem to enjoy what they did. For Jaesun it was the only good thing he had ever had in his life. So sue him for trying to have fun with it and enjoy his job. “I’m hurt that you wouldn’t bet your pretty head that I can hit the target and not you. After all, you must have read the reports. I take liberties but there’s a reason why I get results.”

Jaesun was practicing his knife throwing. One could always use practicing unusual fighting techniques in case they came in handy. And knifes were easy to find in certain missions so it could prove useful. He wasn’t bad at it though considering he had trained it consistely, but in his mind he could always improve. The agent grabbed the knife stuck to the target and walked back to the spot where he had been throwing it from, aiming and throwing the knife again. It hit the middle of the target, causing him to smile. Noticing someone had walked in, his head turned to see who it was. “Hey, are you looking to practice?” he questioned. “If you stand in front of the target for me, I’ll do the same for you.” Jaesun suggested, curious to see if the other was brave enough to do as he dared.

( jackson wang, cismale, he/him ) — Welcome back, KIM JAESUN. I’m surprised you’re still a FIELD AGENT ! Congrats ! You’re TWENTY FOUR years old ? Our agents usually don’t last that long ! :O I see you’ve been given a HUSKY. Funny how it seems they work harder than you ! Can’t wait for another lovely day of you being STRONG. Though, if we’re being honest, we really know you’re more DESTRUCTIVE. Welp, have a good at work, Agent DROSERA. I really don’t care ! I’m a robot, I have no feelings.
tw death, violence, abuse
His biological parents were both chinese and lived in korea. They died when he was around 4 and he doesn’t remember. All he knows is that there was a fire and somehow he was the only survivor of it
He was put up for adoption so he lived in a home for kids that were also orphans for 3 years. Jaesun barely has any memories of it
Once he got adopted his name was changed to Kim Jaesun which is why he has a korean name despite being chinese. His birth name was actually Zhao Yang
Jaesun’s adoptive mother died when he was 6 when he accidentally distracted her while she was driving and they crashed. He somehow got out of it with nothing but a broken leg. His adoptive father blamed him for her death and so did Jaesun.
His father started to drink a lot after her death and eventually lost his job and would spend all day drinking and borrowing money from people or conning people so that he could get money to live
He would have given him up but his adoptive father did not want people to talk badly of him so everything bad he did was a secret and he was still thought to be a caring father who was grieving
Jaesun spent most of his time anywhere other than at home, wanting to avoid his father. He too started to steal so he could survive and afford food, clothes and anything he needed since his father didn’t take care of him.
Nobody seemed to notice or care but since his mother died until he got away and joined the agency, Jaesun was always covered in bruises and cuts that his father caused
Once he finished high school he moved out but he didn’t have much money and was basically homeless for a few months
One day he got in trouble for stealing some money and instead of being arrested he was freed by an agent who recruited him
He has always both felt like he isn’t worthy of love or affection and also been very cocky
sees himself as not worthy of good things and thinks that nobody should stick around
everyone he has loved in the past has died or been so heartbroken because of him that they died inside so he’s terrified of love
very reckless because he doesn’t care about his well being
somehow makes a mess but manages to complete his missions
Plots I’d like
Rivals. Someone he competes with. They always try to one up each other and be the better agent
Mentorship. For people who just started out and he can take it upon himself to teach them some things and be some sort of mentor figure but like in a non official way
Exes. He tried out dating but it didn’t work out. Probably because what they do is dangerous and everyone he loves dies so he would be too scared to lose her and would rather break up with her
Fuck buddies. They don’t even have to be friends
Ride or die. they would give anything to partner up in missions because they love being around each other and would have each other’s back no matter what
Enemies. they just can’t stand each other for whatever reason which would be up for plotting
Unspoken feelings. One or both of them have unspoken feelings for the other and sometimes it makes for some strange and awkward situations
