From beast to man, the transformation took place underneath Andruil's careful gaze. Fascinating, to see magic far beyond her grip twist and twirl in shapes she will never be able to imitate. Beautiful in it's lethality, on it's power. There is a dignity about the lythari that she cannot hope to imitate, touched as they are by the goddess of the moon. Cannot hope to imitate, and does not wish to. Eilistraee's moonlight protects her, and they walk similar paths, and for someone who has left so many behind to bathe under the light of the moon, that is all she needs. She admires the freedom found on the lythari, and hopes they see hers as something worthy as well.
"A newcomer, then," she gathers, satisfied that she had been right on her lack of recognition. She does not remain satisfied for long, not when the high elf decides to be stubborn and not seek aid. Side eyeing him, she considers her options for a long moment before sighing and sheathing her blade. There is almost no chance she doesn't end up a little more bloody because of her choice, but her desire to follow Eilistraee's worship drives her to learn to be kind above sense at times. "You have done so, but you do not need to hold the burden alone," Andruil says almost gently as she steps closer to the stranger. "Let me guide you to the Moon Gate and into the courts, I am sure the chancellors will be happy to provide aid and welcome any weary traveler. As am I," she reassures, moving to lay a hand on his shoulder. "You do not owe me anything, I helped freely and I will do it again at no price."
Drizzt could remember being in situations like this plenty of times. He'd been in captivity for longer than he had ever thought possible and he'd been in this lythari form for what felt like longer, but actually wasn't. It felt like it was more comfortable to him when he thought about the fact that turning back into the elf he once was would bring back so many memories that he would've rather stayed buried. Life didn't work that way though. It wasn't supposed to be easy like he'd been told it would be for him several millennia ago. He wasn't some royal elf anymore. He was just someone that Sehanine had taken pity on and felt was worthy enough for this gift. All he knew for certain was that he wouldn't take it for granted. Not when she had first gifted it to him and certainly not now in another realm he had only been told stories of.
His bloodied maw pointed in the drow's direction and then to the corpses surrounding them. It would've been easy for him to get rid of these people that had attacked him unprompted, but he hadn't really done that before and he definitely didn't intend to start that now. In a few moments, he was shifting back to a man, hands pressing into the earth beneath him as he took a breath. The wound at his side was still bleeding which caused his hand to lift to cover it as he looked up at the drow that had helped him. "I don't have a court here," he grunted out as he stood on his feet, hand still pressed to his side. "Nor do I need assistance patching myself up. I've done this before." He paused. "Your assistance is well appreciated though. I owe your a debt."
