Imbolc - Spoonie Witch Friendly

Imbolc is usually celebrated between February 1st & 2nd, in the Northern Hemisphere (In Southern hemisphere around August 1).

Imbolc is a fire festival celebrating the home, hearth, and the halfway point between Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.

Is is the celebration of the return of the light and sun. A great time to honour the coldest days and the arrival of spring.

🌱 Let's Talk Imbolc 🌱

Imbolc is a time of hope for new things and light after the darkness.

Imbolc, also known as Brigid's Day, is February 1st this year! It's the celebration of the beginning of spring and new birth/growth in all aspects of life.

It also honors the Celtic Deity Brigid, who was so well-loved by pagans that she was adopted by Irish Christianity as one of Ireland's patron saints. Brigid's domain is healing, poetry, and smithing - so she holds significance for all you jewelers out there too!

Brigid is also the Goddess of Fire, the Sun (hence the gradually lengthening days), and the Hearth (meaning your home). As a Wiccan Triple Goddess, Brigid is in her maiden form during this festival, representing her ties to fertility, pregnancy, babies, and midwives.

〘Ways to Celebrate〙

🌱 If you've already put time and thought into it (this decision should not be made lightly), consider adopting a new pet from a local shelter! Clear out the shelter to make room for more pets and give an animal a new life

🌱 Weave a Brigid cross

🌱 Plant something new in your garden or as part of a local project

🌱 Bake!

🌱 Celebrate with a candle ceremony dedicated to your patrons and Brigid

🌱 Do some spring cleaning - both physical and energy-related

🌱 Donate what you don't need to local charities
