LUNG CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, NOVEMBER 2019
Lung Cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in both men and women worldwide. Cigarette smoking is the major risk factor for development of lung cancer. Passive smoking can also cause lung cancer in non-smokers. Lung Cancer can develop in any person but 90% of lung cancers cases are occur due to the result of smoking.
Lung cancer starts in tissues of the lungs. The two main types of lung cancer are small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). More than 80% of all lung cancers are non-small cell type.
Secondhand smoking is also one of the major risk factor of Lung Cancer. Smoke from other people’s cigarettes is called as a secondhand smoke.
