We've planned three rows of garlic - more than 100 cloves - and tucked them away so they can start forming new bulbs in the spring. I'll probably get some strawberry and more asparagus crowns to fill the bed in the spring. I keep changing my mind about where I'm going to put the market garden, but since I didn't do a fall/winter garden as I planned to, I'll probably just use the space the rosters are currently occupying, and keep prepping the space where the big flock is currently for more garden space. The big flock will be moving to the other side of the house once I get the bigger coop built (I'm giving in and ordering an expensive (but sturdy) prefab coop, because...I give up! I can't learn to be a carpenter while working overtime, trying to keep up with the garden, and trying to run a household by myself, and I'm sort of tired of everyone telling me "it's easy." When you can invent a machine that generates "free time," you can tell me it's easy to build a chicken coop. Until then, my chickens will be nice and warm and cozy in their coop. This book reminds me of every entitled white make I've met in my life. It kept acting like it has something important to say, but I'm the end it was actually frustratingly devoid of any useful information, and not even marginally entertaining. Just fucking awful. And of course, silly me, in had to hang in there until it ended "just in case" it somehow managed to redeem itself. It didn't. No surprise there. I think it will actually be the first book I've ever owned that I will just throw in the trash now that I'm (mercifully) done reading it.
