Pizza Tower Wiki's current state

hello, I'm Legroom, and I like working on wiki sites and help folks w/ them. 2 years ago I left FANDOM (aka Wikia) in favor of more user friendly and less corporate wiki hosting called Miraheze, essentially becoming a support volunteer over there. Also, maybe some of you have seen a huge post making rounds here on tumblr, about FANDOM being a horrible place, maybe you even seen my 2 cents on this matter.

Anyway ...

the Pizza Tower Wiki hosted by FANDOM is in really bad state - it's overrun by vandals, spammers, trolls and hell knows which other annoying types of users. The wiki's admins can't catch a break, and FANDOM's staff aren't doing anything about it - years ago they used to assign staff members to help high-trafficking wikis, now it seems to be thrown away w/ platform's progressing predatory corporate behavior.

thus, the admins made the decision to move the project to Miraheze. It's a non-commercial platform, doesn't have ads (at all), and gives people more tools and possibilities to improve their wikis, including anti-vandal measurement. Here it is:

I've helped admins to iron out migration and design hijinks. Right now, the process is finished, and both admins and devoted editors are back to usual pace of updating and improving the project, and you can join too.

So, from now on, please consider using the new, Miraheze version of the wiki. The old one is barely maintained at this point, and the content over there inevitably will degrade into one big shit post.

Another problem is that FANDOM wikis are hard to outplay in search engine ranking, and only you - fans and readers, can help us in that. Ignoring links to FANDOM in Google is a first step, the next big thing - stop using it as discussion venue. There are places much better suited for that than an encyclopedic/data base web site, - like tumblr or reddit (what I mean here, is that if you know FANDOM frequenters, please try to explain this to them).

As Miraheze wiki is only starting to get indexed by Google, you won't see it over there yet or will see only 1-2 pages. But you can use Redirector browser extension [ Firefox / Chrome ] - to turn FANDOM links to Miraheze. Here's the instruction on how to set up a redirect, and alternatively you can get ready script file to use. And this also can be done for other wikis which grew tired of FANDOM's shit and migrated to other platforms for good ...

Once our SEO will get on its feet, we can boost the new wiki in Google itself.

And, as I was writing this post, I got the news that ad revenue hungry FANDOM staff woke up and demoted active admins just few hours ago (please read the comments from the beginning).

So, please help us and spread the word.
