Leonardo Dalla is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt competitor and instructor. He was medalist in several major Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, such as the World Championship, Pan American Championship gi and no-gi, and Brazilian National Championship. Leo Dalla was born in 1974, growing up in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. Dalla started training in 1987 at age of 13, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil becoming the very first student to receive a Black Belt under Master Jorge Pereira in June 1993.

Alliance (pronounced ah-lee-AHN-say from the Brazilian origin, but uh-LAHY-uhns in the American/English form) is one of the most prominent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu associations and the current defending World team champion, having won the titles at the World Championships from 2008-2016. They also won the World Championships back to back in 1998 and 1999. Alliance was founded by Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti and his students: Fabio Gurgel, Alexandre Paiva, and Fernando Gurgel. Alliance Global headquarters is in Atlanta, Georgia at the Alliance Martial Arts Academy, where “Jacare” is the head instructor. Fabio Gurgel, also known as the “General”, is the co-leader of Alliance and the head instructor at Alliance Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva heads the third main Alliance academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2010, Alliance won all major competitions: European Championship, Pan American Championship, and the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship; an accomplishment which has never been achieved by any other team in history.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ranking system is a means of signifying a practitioner’s increasing levels of technical knowledge and practical skill within the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Colored belts that are worn as part of the uniform are awarded to the practitioner. While the ranking system’s structure shares its origins with the Judo ranking system and that of all colored martial arts belts, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ranking system grew to incorporate unique aspects and themes. The system has minor differences from Judo in areas such as a division between youths and adults and the issuance of stripes and degrees. Some distinct differences have become synonymous with the art, such as a marked informality in promotional criteria, a focus on a competitive demonstration of skill, and a conservative approach to promotion.

He is known for a number of competitive achievements, ranging from Mundial and ADCC victories to dozens of Grapplers Quest championships. He is the winner of The Ultimate Fighter Season 22. Hall has published a number of instructional DVD sets, including one with an emphasis on the triangle choke, a signature technique used in his competitive career.

Bryan Lloyd Danielson (born May 22, 1981), better known under the ring name Daniel Bryan, is an American retired professional wrestler currently signed to WWE as the on-screen general manager of SmackDown. In WWE, Bryan held the WWE Championship three times and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship once, in addition to being a one-time United States Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion, and a one time WWE Tag Team Champion as part of Team Hell No (with Kane). He was also the 2011 SmackDown Money in the Bank winner and the 2013 Superstar of the Year Slammy Award winner. He is the 26th Triple Crown Champion and the 6th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history and headlined several major pay-per-view events, including SummerSlam in 2013 and WrestleMania XXX. Danielson was previously signed to the WWE, then known as the WWF, for an 18-month period from 2000–2001. Prior to joining WWE for his second stint in 2009, Danielson wrestled for various companies internationally using both his real name and the ring name (and later nickname) “American Dragon”. He wrestled for Ring of Honor (ROH) from 2002 to 2009, being recognized as a “Founding Father” of the promotion, where he was a one-time ROH World Champion, as well the final Pure Wrestling Champion (unifying the Pure title with the World title). He was the first winner of ROH’s annual Survival of the Fittest tournament in 2004. Danielson also wrestled extensively in Japan, winning the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship in Pro Wrestling Noah and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship (with Curry Man) in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Between WWE, ROH, and Japanese promotions, he held eleven total championships. Danielson also won numerous titles on the independent circuit, including two PWG World Championships, the FIP Heavyweight Championship, and the wXw World Heavyweight Championship. In 2016, at age 34, Danielson retired from professional wrestling due to medical issues (including seizures) arising from multiple concussions and a brain lesion. Later that year in July, he was named the General Manager of SmackDown following the return of the WWE brand extension.

Coached by (UFC Hall of Famer) Matt Hughes, Stevenson rose to prominence by becoming The Ultimate Fighter 2 Welterweight Tournament Winner. Following a drop in weight class and two-year undefeated streak, he was ranked among the top UFC Lightweight competitors, culminating into a title shot for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship against B.J.
