Project 2733, Subject #2. 1974 Porsche Carerra 3.0. Only 56 built.
Revell of Germany kit and not a great one. 1/25 th scale. Poor proportions. Minimal detailing. Replaced kit seats with more accurate ones fro my parts box. Came out pretty well.
Subject #3 is almost complete!

Project 2733
Just finished 1967 Porsche 911 R. First of "Project 2733"- 3 first generation 911's. Fujimi Enthusiast kit. Challenging- in a good way. Probably 75-100 hours in this build. Texas 3D Customs wheel rims.
This is the first of 3 911s (Hence the project title 3x911=2733).

Michael Andretti has had a tough year or towo battling with F1. Here's my tribute to his early career in CART (Indycars). March 88C in 1/25th scale by AMT. Paid just 8 bucks for it at a swap meet. Given AMT's bad reputation, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit together. It did end up being an exercise in masking!

Got this little one finished. Great kit with excellent prts fit, decals and instructions. Added Sacle Motorsports carbon fiber decals on wheel arches nd rer wing, which had 24 individual hand cut decals.
Subject is circa 2011 World Rally Championship entry from BMW.

Next project is a 1/32 scale Mini World Rally Championship. Considering the small scale, the kit includes a high level of parts and detail. The painting and application of decals will be a challenge.
This being built for a a KC Slammers 2 month build challenge whose only parameter is that the model be completed exactly as pictured on the box.

Well, as promised, Moby Dick is complete. The Chiefs, however, did not get it done. Unlike the Super Bowl, this one came out as expected, albeit with challenging (old) decals. Lots of adjusting and touch up got it done. Not a contest model, but it will look good in the display case.

After spending 2 or 3 months on my last build, I thought I'd take a break and do one in 2 or 3 days. This is a weird little kit from Nitto, a company that I have never heard of in a scale (1:28) that I have never heard of. The original factory racer was affectionately called "Moby Dick" due to its shape. Like so many Japanese kits of the 60's and 70's, this one has an electric motor, which I have pitched.
I'll have completed pics after the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.

The 1969 Tamiya 1/12 scale Porsche 910 is complete. Really enjoyed this and am pleased with the results. First competition is March 8 so let's hope the judges like it.
This is the SECOND time i have completed this kit. The first was in 1969 when the model was first introduced. At that time, it featured working lights and an electric motor. I finally finished it and set it on my bureau, proud of my work. I hopped into bed and turned out the lights. Suddenly, due to a draft in our old home, my bedroom door slammed just a bit. And, just as suddenly, the Porsche lights came on along with the motor. My newly crafted 910 drove right off the bureau.
I did not include the electric motor this time.

The 910 now boasts a custom Gulf livery, this time on a white ground. Orange stripe is painted; blue stripes and numbers are custom decals created on Excel.
