The fact that Kakyoin is more willing to kill his opponents than Jotaro is really funny. Jotaro has a rough exterior but soft interior, whilst Kakyoin has a soft exterior but rough interior.

Everyone always brings up the Lovers fight as an example of Jotaro’s and Kakyoin’s unspoken understanding and trust in each other. But another instance that I see no one talk about in reference to this aspect of their relationship is the sumo scene in the Wheel of Fortune episode. Not only is it a super flirtatious moment between the two, it’s also one their first real moments where they fully trust that the other will comprehend their intentions/plan.
Keep in mind that this entire sequence of events happens within like 30 seconds real time after Polnareff pulls a Polnareff. Meaning everything that happens between Joot and Kak is improvised with, once again, confidence that they’ll immediately read each other perfectly.
When Kakyoin sends out Hierophant Green to stop their car’s fall into the ravine, Joseph worries that Kakyoin is making a rash and dangerous decision with his stand. But Kakyoin has to reassure Joseph that he knows what he’s doing, and to trust his intentions.
Then Kakyoin simply turns around to look at Jotaro with that smug face of his, silently expecting him to understand that his next step of the plan requires Star Platinum to pull some kind of crazy manoeuvre.
And Jotaro of course fully understands him and does his part.
All while being cool and flirty with his sumo metaphor.
Notice the way they gaze at each other afterwards! It’s a look of true trust, happiness, and pride that they know one another so well to the point that they no longer need words to communicate.
The Lovers arc later on just amplifies everything about their undeniable confidence in one another.
