Delhi University Admissions - Students in Rush to Grab a Seat

Results for almost all important classes have been announced and the successful students are rejoicing. At the same time, admissions for higher classes in a premier college has become the hot topic of discussions in all quarters. Delhi University has also issued the admission notification for its Under Graduate programs.

Delhi University, popularly known as "DU" is premier university of the country and boasts of being known for its high teaching and research standards.

There is an array of eminent scholars in its faculty. Presently, there are 14 faculties, 86 academic departments and 79 colleges spread all over the city enrolling about 2,20,000 students.

Delhi University issued important notification on the Under Graduate Admissions for the session 2008-09 on May 21.

As per the notification. The applications for all the undergraduate programs are available from 2nd June to 16th June 2008. The date of submitting these forms is also the same.

The university has set up fifteen admission information centers across the city for the sale and receipt of Common Pre-Admission Form and Information Bulletin.

Notification also states that the first cut-off list shall be announced on 26th June 2008. To help the the students in Admissions, DU has established Help Line, and the Delhi University offers 35,000 seats for the under graduate programs and 5000 seats for the Professional programs.

There will be the facility of central registration for the a location of seats for Special Categories of Students in Regular Colleges. Delhi University attracts the students from not only Delhi and National Capital Region but also from the stats of North Eastern Region, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and others.

The competition to get seats in Delhi is intense and generally the cut-off marks are very high. But if a students gets the name of Delhi University added to his academic records, he is considered from amongst the cream.
