I had too much faith in the opposition Do what it takes to reach the top position I can make it I need My permission The thought of that is just a lot to get with Un-optimistically just tryna be an optimistic I need to stop and listen I got my options listed I feel like I’m in a box and I’m cropping pictures Just had a convo with my chick about my market scriptures You know the type of shit that prolly wouldn’t spark yo interest Yeah I know I be trippin I need to stop and listen
But the words that I’m hearing don’t line up with the shit that I wanna hear Wasting my time seems to be my only fear Not to mention these ain’t insecurities I know that shit can get weird All of this time that you spending over here Law of attraction is real, but I don’t know how you feel, shit I don’t know if you feel... me
I need to stop and listen

Duece Flame: Got Flame Vol. 1
Duece Flame is the saucy 24-year-old DIY rapper from the southside of Houston you should get familiar with. His spacious apartment that doubles as a home studio is constantly abuzz with innovative ideas, fresh weed smoke, and nonstop creativity. The charismatic rapper is usually glued to his work station building any number of projects from the ground up. In 2018, obscure artists can use Soundcloud and Youtube to catapult from their bedrooms to playing overseas in a blink of an eye. Anyone can break through the barriers of the music industry with enough drive and a sprinkle of star quality. Unmistakably, Duece Flame has plenty of both.
The energy in Flame’s space is cozy yet electric as he concentrates on uploading the lyrics from his latest tape, Got Flame Vol. 1 onto Genius. This seven track EP is a hasty concoction of insomnia, evanescent inspiration, and Duece’s machine-like work ethic. Typically, this millennial renaissance man exclusively raps over his own beats, preferring complete control over the sound. However, he surprised us all with an unanticipated project compiling a few of his favorite collaborative tracks with local producers and unknown Youtube beatmakers.
In the true spirit of southern rap, Flame floats over all seven tracks in a raw and almost playful manner. The grit in his voice and visceral lyrics effortlessly elevates these inconspicuous instrumentals to new heights. His bars and adlibs are a journey into the rapper’s distinctive haze of hunger, vulgar thoughts, crude emotions, and drug use. His lyrics are at times deceptively complex as he uses English syntax as his personal playground. With words that are both passionate and detached, one gets the feeling that his music is the closest we’ll get inside of his head. As stated in the opening track, if it’s not about guap he’s not interested in politicking with you.
Got Flame Vol. 1 is not meant to exude musical perfection and that’s what makes it brilliant. His creative process is chaotically methodical, and each drop is strategic. Without a doubt, Flame can spend a year perfecting every minute detail of an album to create a masterpiece. He is also talented enough to lock himself in his studio for a week, record and drop a full tape, design the cover, create a music video, and rollout a new website all by day seven. By listening to his music or peeking into his creative process, one starts feeling strangely motivated to go harder. Where most fold, pressure seems to illuminate his abilities even more.  His work is the definition of getting it out the mud, and I predict his name will be on the tip of all our tongues in the years to come.
Check him out below!

Some Females say they want a man that will hold them down, but once their man starts to get into the groove of things it all changes. Once their man develops a schedule that puts them in grind mode and allows them to get their bread up, which will then take away time from them two to be together, they start tripping. It then goes from "I want a man that can hold me down" to "I need someone to spend time with me and go out their way to make things work"...?? Dude, if we spending time together all the time, how productive can we really be? They want someone to go out their way to make things work, but get upset when they don't get the "time" they feel is essential. This has got to stop. The mind control these women try to accomplish with actions like these I have mentioned has to stop. This doesn't get you anywhere in a relationship. Period. Please add your two cents.

Dear insecure black boys,
Be you fam. People who genuinely care about you look past the things you don’t like about yourself.
Be the best you and people will gravitate your way. Facts.

My professor put this up today and proceeded to say “ when they try to get rid of HBCU’s know that they are trying to deteriorate not only our future progress but our past. And if the number of HBCU’s goes down, so will these stats”
