A version of a quite famous French Christmas song “Entre le bœuf et l’âne gris” by Alwin Michael Schronen performed at Notre-Dame de Paris (I’ve heard it in person there actually) rings something so deep and forgotten in my mind, it makes me so depressingly sorrowful about the fact that human soul is not a real thing.
The reality of it being just chemicals in my brain and not some old and sacred strings of one’s soul…

Okay, so the transcript is published on Wikimedia! It could have been better, but considering my poor Latin and damaged text here and there, it is probably a nice first version.
I’m completely new to working with wikis, so if you see some mistakes I made, errors, and so on, please edit the page. Any help is greatly appreciated!
The same stands for the transcript itself, so if you see any mistakes in my interpretation of this document’s Latin or you can understand the words in the damaged parts - do edit the page as well.
Here’s the link to the published transcript on Wikisource (in addition to Wikimedia link in the posts above):
While I was absent from this precious website, I've been working on one lil thing, essentially a transcript of a small document from the court of Frederick II (December 1222) Long story short: I saw a photo of it on Wikimedia with no transcript of the Latin text (they sometimes include transcripts but not in this case), decided I was curious what's the doc about, and started working on the transcript I've finished the beta version of the transcript, but before I upload it to Wikimedia I wanted to ask y'all here to look it through. I don't know Latin (sad, I know), so there can be stupid mistakes with verbs' conjugations 'n' stuff like that. I would really appreciate any help here Guide: Round brackets (in bold) are for my comments and where commas could be placed. Square brackets are for dots in the original document (I have no idea what they mean: truncation, full stop, or smth else) and incomprehensible words (at least I didn't get 'em) By the way many thanks to Arizona Tea (kept my sanity) and @mformarsala (helped a lot). Love you both

I just found out there is actually already a transcript of this doc lmao. Haha. Ha. Mhm.
Stumbled across it while checking one of the Latin phrases from in my version of the transcript, it is from the website of the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency of Puglia. The link is below:
I looked through it, and I disagree with this transcript in some parts, but overall we have something similar. I’ll try to look at how I can incorporate this transcript with my version, and add the final vers to Wikimedia (obviously all sources will be mentioned)

Today would be a good day, but today’s 785 years since the battle of Cortenuova, and it’s so fucking frustrating

But honestly it’s extremely funny knowing that Alfonso X died in some lame stupid way followed by an ugly feud with his son, daughter-in-law, son-in-law (who is like king of France) and a toddler grandson
Though knowing that his mother was from Hohenstaufen family what did i expect
It’s family traditions boys

I'm really sorry that my answer took so much time (what melancholia does to a mf) The article in question is "Dante’s rhetorical models in Inferno XIII" by Elena N. Moshonkina, and it was originally in Russian. (I've uploaded it on shared Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/114C9k0_yi3xjnqZuPs6jAJD-mjthUrO0?usp=sharing) I had to translate the linguistic mistake my sore mind made while reading the article into French because Cyrillic are usually quite difficult to understand for non-Cyrillic language speakers. In Russian, it would have sounded like "куртизан" (courtisan) and "куртизанка" (courtisane). I honestly didn't know that "куртизан" means "courtier" in Russian, and fully assumed for a few mins that the author meant that Pietro was well... a male version of courtisane for Frederick. Now that we are talking about it, can you elaborate on the sodomy accusations you mentioned? I remember that during Frederick's third excommunication in 1245, he was called many things, but I haven't found anything about sodomy (such a shame). I'd be very grateful if you could share any sources regarding that..?
I’ve been reading an article about the role of Pietro della Vigna in Canto XIII, and I read the word “courtisan” (“courtier” in French) as “courtisane” (“courtesan” in French) 💀💀💀
Naturally, my sore mind fucking died after reading the sentence “Pierre de la Vigne était le courtisan de Frédéric II”
I’m wondering how much Pietro’s services costed…

Like IMAGINE we could have had Fredrick II AND Alfonso X, it would have been SO FUCKING COOL
The pope persuaded Alfonso not to accept the crown offered to him
