People are always so confused when I tell them never fall in love, ever, especially at my age.

They ask me what about kindergarten crush? Nope, nothing.

Grade school, middle school, high school, also nope.

Finally got to near Arc 3 Whale Fight in the LN and omg Ricardo really runs up to Subaru and says "Anastasia is a friend-less anti-social money obsessed capitalist wanna be her friend I'm getting worried for her" I would literally die if I was Anastasia here. Dad disses you then tries to get you a friend immediately. How will she survive the react to this?

I think the funniest part of this is that it’s not even the first time it happens: Rom did the EXACT SAME THING in a failed loop in Arc 1, a good chunk of Roswaal’s conversation in the bath with Subaru was him saying “The twins need more friends, so please do your best :)” and Ram was kind of doing the same thing with Rem early on. Subaru just gives off “friendly neighbor’s kid” vibes apparently. Whenever he forms even a passing acquaintanceship with someone who has a person around Subaru’s age in their life with trouble making friends, they decide to try convincing Subaru to hang out with them. This is a pattern at this point.

While the main story has been killing me (Astrea....) , what about the victory that ottosuba gets because of the q&a???

Otto thought that "Natsuki" is his given name so he called Subaru with Natsuki-san from the get-go because he wanted to close the distance between them immediately.

In past q&a Neko-sensei said that he has no intention to make Otto changed the way he called Subaru though, as he puts it as the situation as "your best friend since grade school always called you by last name even when you've been friends for 20 years, and if they suddenly changed the way they call you it would feel weird lol"

Otto is childhood friend level lol

In Kasaneru IF, Emilia Camp couldn't win the royal election even if they have Echidna and Reinhard. Otto went back to Picoutatte with remorse and failed to open his own shop, while Subaru was still wondering about the friend that he lost

Arc 6 Subaru would NEVER read Reid's Astrea book alone, he'd confide in Otto and they'd go to the library together. Even if Subaru lost his memories, he'd be able to keep hia composure because Otto was there to be a calming presence and explain the situation to him

(I see a jp fan speculated that if Otto's there, Julius would feel alienated because Subaru naturally gravitates more towards his bestie...)

Russel had been keeping an eye on Otto to get his Divine Protection of Soul Language. It's highly likely that his unsold oil dillemma in arc 3 (and the reason he became a slave in Ayamatsu and Oboreru) was orchestrated by Russel. Even if Otto could get out from that predicament somehow, a string of bad luck would still befall on him and he'd be Russel's underling sooner or later.

So being involved with Subaru before Russel got to him actually secured his future (main story and the Otto IF in Rezelos)

Julius and Otto wouldn't get along EVER. And even if Subaru was there, although he didn't know WHY Otto was so unfriendly with Julius, Subaru would pick Otto's side (ooof my julisuba heart got a hit)

The good news is that as of arc 9, Julius feelings towards Subaru is 7/10 and Reinhard towards Subaru is 6/10. Neko-sensei happily assured fans that there will be events that'll make Subaru's likeability (for Reinhard) goes down.

Then there's Otto and Subaru's mutual 10/10...

Oh god I was hoping that Wilhelm can fulfill his wish... To steal the title of "Sword Saint" from Reinhard to return him to be his grandchild and aplogize properly to Reinhard (and probably Heinkel too) and they all make amends.... The sad thing is Wilhelm actually realized pretty fast he did wrong to Reinhard who only wanted to cheer him up in the only way child!Reinhard knew but Heinkel didn't let him meet Reinhard because Heinkel was protecting his son... ugh,

I know that Wilhelm might lose against Alcanica but not like this...

I'm sorry, the fact that we have Otto and Emilia consoling and grounding each other because they lost Subaru is just so... satisfying.

Here is arguably the two people who love Subaru the most (other than Beatrice and pre-arc7!Rem) and they're telling each other not to give up... because it's what they learn from Subaru and need to do to save him.

Also, god, Otto almost crying because he feels so guilty and worthless for not being able to be by Subaru's side? His troubled feelings have been brewing since arc 5 since Subaru delivers the speech (see Tappei-sensei's tweet about Otto taking a deep breath and fixed his expression before reuniting with Subaru during that episode broadcast, Tappei only retweeting ONE Otto's fanart about the speech and it shows Otto with a blank, almost haunted and angry look), and then letting Subaru go to the watchtower without him and hearing reports of Subaru losing his memories, forcing himself, losing someone, and then getting blown away to a hostile contry. AND THEN getting caught up in civil war in order to meet Subaru, Subaru deciding to spare Spica's life, Subaru feeling guilty for Priscilla's death and--

there's nothing Otto can do for Subaru.

And now, NOW, Subaru is taken away by someone that Otto decided to trust (even though it took Al 600+ loops to make it happen).

God, no wonder Otto is on the verge of tears.

What kind of friend is he? The one Subaru trust not to leave him behind back in Sanctuary? What worth is Otto's life now that he can't protect the person who he wishes to spend every day with together?

Also, good job for Emilia for holding onto her strength. She really grows up from the girl curling up because she loses Puck in arc 4. She really grows into herself.

Although while her grounding technique of putting Otto's head to her chest so he can hear her heartbeats is really good, Otto is right that Subaru will kill him if he knows.

...I think Otto is also saying that to ensure himself and Emilia that Subaru will return to them and will be able to crack jokes like before.

Edit: Oh, JP fans noted that in Otto Suwen's name chapter, there is a narration of Otto crying because he's reborn... First when he cries for the first time after his words reached his family, then when he's saved from the witch cultist and felt alive,

but the reason for his tears now is the worthlessness of not being able to protect the people precious to him...

Also it's parts amazing and scary how calm Petra is... She's cute and a badass at the same time by admitting that she's probably crazy now and is already compromised. Petra, please be safe...

And it's really painful how things that our Subaru normally says can become something so painful looking through the eyes of someone who just knows the truth

I've gotten used to Subaru's black humor (one where he's the only one who understands the meaning of) so when we hear it through Petra's POV I got reminded again that wow Subaru really says things that shouldn't be laughed about...

wtf the royal debate corner of the last re:zero radio is so fitting for arc 6 even though the choice is random lol

basically it’s corner where rieri (emilia’s jp va) and a radio guest randomly picked a prompt from a box and then argue about which one is better

for example, which is better: a hot day or a cold day?

the question in the last radio show is hellish: which one is a better situation--being forgotten by everyone but you don’t lose your memories (julius situation) or losing your memories but everyone remembers you (crusch situation)

rieri randomly picked the julius situation and yukkeshi (subaru’s va) randomly picked crusch situation

so this is the tl,dr version:

Yukkeshi in Crusch situation: Having all these unknown people who remember/know him saying things like “you were this kind of guy” will be the worst feeling ever. But even so, he’ll become the person that everyone sees him as. He’ll live a life for everyone’s sake even though it’s lonely and the person they see is not the present him. Because he’s sure that what they see is also a part of him and he wants to believe that at his core, he’s still that same person.

Rieri in Julius situation: She’s glad if she’s the one being forgotten because she wouldn’t want to make anyone upset (because she’ll be the only one upset about the fact that they forget her). She thinks it’s better as long as she remembers her goals and what she needs to do. She wants to remember everything. She doesn’t want to live a life where anyone pushes their view of her, she wants to live as herself. Plus she can start from zero with everyone.

The amazing thing is that while Rieri is (iirc) a ln reader, Yukkeshi only reads re:zero from the script he’s given (he’s always going blind).

As in, Yukkeshi (probably) has no idea of what happens to Subaru in arc 6

The fact that nekosen use the jp word "仲人" which, although may be used to be a mediator for human relationships, is more commonely used as "a matchmaker for marriage" make me think that he made this as an otome & lowkey bl in one game www

The "matchmaker" route patterns that I can see:

Grand route: like the otome version, this is the all friendship ending where there's no problems

Ferris route/past coming back: aka FeriSuba and FeriJuli routes. Subaru is mentioned to be the one to bring Ferris back to a brighter place and Julius is in the childhood friend position in this setting

Julius route/fake gf setting: aka JuliSuba and JuliRein routes. Ferris is already his childhood friend so if he says he's Julius gf no one will believe them. In canon, there's Natsumi and Adelheid so in this setting they can definitely fake being Julius' gf

Reinhard route/sword saint family: aka ReinSuba and ReinFeri route. Subaru is a given, and Ferris is here because he's been rebelling against his family for a long time so it matches

Subaru route/school crisis arc: this is a bit difficult but I can see this is another ReinSuba, JuliSuba, and FeriSuba route (maybe the player can match Subaru with 2/all of them at once to make a triangle/harem ending lol)

Secret routes: I can see OttoSuba and three idiots route. OttoSuba route is a branch/addition in Subaru route after completing the game once, while the Three Idiots route is wholesome OttoSubaGarf friendship we can unlock after completing the Grand Route

some basic info about re:zero gakuen seikatsu

general notes:

while this is an otome game, the game puts an emphasis on friendships. all routes (except the secret routes) are impossible to clear unless all the stuco members affection meters are at 75% (trusted friend)

it’s better to trigger group events first before aiming for a romantic ending with one of the love interest

once you trigger a romance flag, you must NEVER trip a romance flag with other guys or you’ll be locked out of ANY routes so BE CAREFUL

however, it is possible to have multiple good endings (best friends) with everyone in one run

ALWAYS SAVE WHENEVER YOU CAN!! This game has a lot of bombs that can drop your affection meter way down or locked you out of routes in just one choice so BE CAREFUL!! 

SAVE EVERY NEW DAY IN GAME AND BEFORE ANY MULTIPLE CHOICES!!

KEEP SOME OF YOUR EARLIER SAVES!! There’s a lot of choices that trigger a domino effect that can lead into a bad ending so early game save files may just save your lives

i’m serious ALWAYS SAVE YOUR GAME OR YOU’LL GET LOCKED INTO A BAD ENDING!!

however i do recommend you to play blindly first and see one of the bad endings yourself lol

seriously there’s so many bad endings in this game you better prepare yourself

Subaru:

it’s very easy to raise his affection meter and very hard to lower it once it reaches 60%

you need to raise otto’s hidden affection meters to 100% (best friend) to get the best ending

this is a hellish route where you need to have a lot of guesswork with the stuco members and otto because you’ll be locked out of ANY route if you mess up with subaru even ONCE

also you need to maintain a high level of stress (you’ll know why) throughout your entire run for the romance ending. walking the toeline between dying and youth is the key!

best ending condition: raise everyone (including otto)’s affection meter to 100% (friend endings) + stress level above 90 + all stats above 150

YOU NEED TO GET EVERYONE’S FRIEND ENDINGS TO GET SUBARU’S BEST ENDING

if you get subaru’s friend/best ending, you’ll unlock otto’s and garfiel’s routes

if subaru’s friend/best ending is not one of the first endings you get, be prepared

Reinhard

just like subaru, it’s easy to raise his affection meter and very hard to lower it once it reaches 60%

you need to have MAX fitness to get his best ending, basically just focus on raising your fitness stat or you’ll get one of his bad endings that’s very easy to be triggered once you reach 80% (Broken Bones Ending)

it’s easier to get his best ending if you increase your encounter rates by getting out more during the weekdays and weekends + get reinhard to join your part time job

he’s basically discount subaru route just with emphasis on fitness stat

best ending condition: raise everyone (excluding otto)’s affection meter to 75-100% (friend) + max fitness stat (300) + subaru’s ending (best friend or best ending) + other stats above 100

it’s also very tricky to get reinhard’s best ending because he has a lot of good and bad ending routes

Julius

the orthodox conquest target in the game so it’s recommended for first time players to choose his route first

you need to be the best of your grade to get julius’ good ending so your stats for intelligence + fitness + arts need to be above 250 and style + charm + social need to be above 200. Also sweets and tea

even though it sounds impossible, julius route is the one with the least bombs and bad endings so take that as you will about the other love interests

if you get julius’ best ending, you’ll unlock joshua’s route

basically the fluffiest route of all the routes, including the bad endings

best ending condition: raise subaru’s affection meter to 100% (friend endings) + raise other stuco members affection meter to 75-100% (friend) + be the valedictorian of your grade

Ferris

unlike the others, it’s very hard to raise his affection meter but very easy to lower it before you reach 80% so be careful!!

because you have to be careful for his mood swings, it’s better to load your previous files if you’re unsure if he reacts positively to your response

THIS IS THE ONLY ROUTE WHERE YOU CAN’T BE BEST FRIENDS WITH ANYONE!!

if you tripped ferris’ romance flag, DO NOT actively spend time outside of school with other stuco members without ferris. you’re stuck with him until the end

best ending condition: raise everyone (excluding otto)’s affection meter to 50-75% (friend) + max charm + social + style stats (300)

Otto

in your playthrough after getting subaru’s friend/best ending, choose that you only want to be friends with everyone

talk to otto about subaru to raise his affection meter. it’s tricky but save files are your allies. take notes of his responses.

you’re ready to enter otto’s route when he opens up about himself after 3 months of being your informant

best ending condition: raise subaru’s affection meter to 100% (friend ending) and garfiel’s affection meter to 75-100% + trigger all his events + max intelligence + social (300)

Garfiel

in your playthrough after getting subaru’s friend/best ending, accept subaru’s dinner invitation for 30 days to meet him

talk about otto and subaru to raise his affection meter.

go to the dojo and the neighborhood during weekdays and weekends to trigger his events

best ending condition: raise subaru’s affection meter to 100% (friend endings) and otto’s affection meter to 75-100% + max fitness + style stats +  trigger all his events

Joshua

in your playthrough after getting julius’ best ending, go to the juukulius house whenever you’re invited

talk about julius to raise his affection meter but DO NOT INISUATE THAT YOU’RE AIMING TO BE JULIUS’ GF

visit the library during weekdays and weekends to trigger his events

best ending condition: raise julius’ affection meter to 50-100% (friend ending) and max arts + charm stats (300) +  trigger all his events

also there’s also a dlc about a rival school with new guys (abel, cecilus, halibel, todd, and chisha) so in total there’s 12 conquest targets in this game (note everyone’s best ending is a love ending though lol)

I love that Subaru solved the Astrea family problem + Juukulius siblings hidden problem + Ferris attitude (somehow) before we (the female protagonist) can do anything

Subaru inviting us and everyone to dinner!! Reinhard as a large dog type and also a frequent guest of Natsuki family's dinner!!!

Subaru being the president because he jokingly said to Reinhard "if you're the vice stuco pres, maybe I can be the pres lol" and Reinhard made it came true lol

Subaru actually worried about being unsuitable for his position but actually works very hard and earnestly to help the students is so in-very character of him post arc-4

Reading something about the 5 types of love language made me realize that subaru does all five towards the emilia camp:

Quality time: according to neko-sensei's q & a, subaru made sure to spent time with everyone in the camp (excluding roswaal obv) every day post arc-4.

words of affirmation: always saying how much he loves emilia and beako, and saying nice things about everyone in the camp (except towards ram and otto because that's not their thing) (also except roswaal)

physical touch: he's been a very touchy-feely person towards everyone since the beginning especially with beako post arc-4, doesn't mind being physically affectionate with his male friends like otto and garfiel (except roswaal)

gifts: he likes to make desserts for emilia and beako, and in games he makes clothes, dresses, and suits for everyone (the idol reinhard one too iirc)

Acts of service: he likes to help around the mansion in his spare time, fixes otto's clothes, brushes beako's hair, sets emilia's hair, etc. I guess the fact that he's willing to khs for them is a form of act of service too (?)

i didn't remember if it's a wn excerpt or a fan theory, but I read somewhere that subaru wants to die with the knowldege that the people he loves won't doubt his love for them.

tl;dr subaru is a guy who loves everyone a lot
