May I also add to the hera/Persephone parallels, if it’s truly a parallel then the implication is Persephone is going to end up in a marriage that starts out good and romantic, but it will dissolve into hades cheating on her with the next pretty thing he sees in the office, and while she will have power as a queen, she will be miserable and clinging to a relationship shes not happy in because she has no other options. This is why you want contrasts over similarities! Also I agree with the other anons. This was obviously not the intention, but Hera and hades ends up looking like the actual couple, while Persephone is merely a replacement because unlike Hera, she doesn’t call him out or question him, she just does whatever he wants. He’s chasing after someone who can’t have, but at the same time cannot handle who Hera actually is, so he just goes for Persephone, who Rachel has written to be much easier to shape into what he wants. It’s all very icky.

here is my hottest take: minthe looks better than persephone. she's the only one of her kind who looks so distinct, and the blood red is a fantastic color. her hair is also always rendered very beautifully to where it glistens and shines in every panel she's in, and her ears reacting to her emotions is a cute touch. she also looks like an adult who can handle herself and tbh has a regal air to her. persephone in comparison just looks like a sexualized, immature child who is playing emo dress up.

1. tbh if lo hades had lo thanatos design, age (i think hes only supposed to be at most maturity wise to only be late 20s), and even personality of being a bit overconfident but hardworking/kind to those he cares about i would 1000% buy persephone wanting to jump his bones right away. lo hades is just too unlikable with his love of he power imbalance and rage issues and looks too much like her dad to not getting weirded out by it. if he had lo thanatos design/traits instead itd be way better IMHO

2. In Persephone’s defense, she wasn’t the one that killed those two nymphs (the humans did). But yeah I agree, how is no one scared of Persephone especially on the destruction she caused to the village? I guess wrath is badass to some people?

3. are we just supposed to buy everyone will just happily accept a barely legal, immature child with anger issues she cant control if shes in a bad mood and/or horny will make a good queen and know how to deal with the expectations and responsibilities for the job? or even just how creepy that is that this "grown ass man" could only find a suitable match in a child who follows his every word, never questions him, and has no previous relationships to know any better? its all a red flag??

4. like i get why hades stans get upset hes always made the villain, but "fixing" that shouldnt mean making everyone else, especially more positively seen gods like zeus and apollo, super duper evil instead? if he cant even look good without dragging everyone else down, then maybe he's not that good to begin with? its really not that hard to make him likable, and it doesnt require tearing everyone else down, it require actually putting in a little bit of work.

i am so disgusted in the way ares x aphrodite is portrayed. first, aphrodite has to literally fuck her bf’s dad to save her son, then ares seems to want to be with persephone more than aphrodite, then ares and aphrodite are used as some quick joke with the horrid kink scene, and now every episode the readers are reminded that aphrodite is ‘single’ and not married. if RS is going to take these large steps to establish how ‘single’ and ‘unfaithful’ they both are, why put them in a relationship anyways???? i am so sad my fav mythology couple is treated this way <\3
