Is it just me, or does Viv sometimes forget that Stolas is a thirty plus year old man with a teenage daughter? Just based on how she defends him, you would think she was talking about some nerodivergent minor that just turned eighteen only a few hours ago.
Like idk, I feel like the whole "taking advantage of Stolas' naivete." Is kind of a weak excuse to prove that Blitz's actions were just as bad. Especially if it's being compared to the whole class struggle and exploitation thing that was going on between them.

I don't think a lot of people talk about this, but I feel like a big chunk of the reason why the HB fandom defend and baby Stolas so much is because Stolas is the one bottoming. I think subconsciously some of them almost see Stolas as the 'woman' in the relationship and thus needs to be protected by the 'asshole top' who keeps 'breaking his heart.' It's not just Stolitz that does this. When it comes to the mlm ships in Viv's work, she always makes it clear which one is topping and bottoming. They also have this problematic recurring theme of the bottom being sexually aggressive towards the top and the top being punished by the narrative for rejecting the harassment. All while the bottom gets coddled for 'getting his heart broken' and the harassment they did is either ignored or played for laughs. It happened with Angel Dust and Husk, and it became the entire plot of s2 of HB.

Despite the GOD AWFUL ending, I rather enjoyed season 2 of OFMD. Izzy’s redemption was nice, and I thought the conflict between Stede coming into his own as a pirate and Ed wanting to retire to be a stay at home husband was very interesting! I think it was something that either needed a few more episodes or an extra season to resolve. It just sucks how it all just kind of rushed together while senselessly killing off a beloved character for no reason other than shock value.

The Helluva Boss fandom is so funny because you'll have a character that will do the most wildly ooc shit out of nowhere and they will label it as "Character development," and say "literacy media is dead" if you're not fully on board with it.
