"  jesus,  amree,  are  you  still  sleeping?  "  her  tone  was  sharp  but  held  no  bite,  just  relief.  of  course  zoee  knew  that  he  would  be,  should  be,  in  bed  at  this  time.  but  she  was  still  shaken  from  the  sight  of  crime  scene  tape  and  officers. the look in their eyes as they walk in and out of the tape, haunted by what they have just seen.  then the  murmurs  of  brutal  murder,  so  much  blood,  gone  too  soon  from  the  crowd  replaying in  her  head with every ring of the unanswered phone.  she  just  had  to  hear  her  twin's  voice  to  ease  her  mind.  even  if  she  could  feel  that  he  was  okay,  just  as  she  felt  when  he  wasn't,  zoee  needed  more  confirmation  than  just  their  twin  thing.  "  sorry.  it's  just—  "  she  hesitated,  lowering  her  voice  as  she  stepped  away  from  the  crowd.  " someone was murdered,  amree.  there are  police  everywhere  right  now.  "

a disgruntled, sleepy sound came from the lump of bed sheets && pillows that created the cozy cocoon in amree's room - it was probably nearing noon, but rarely did the surfer's head rise above 1pm. a hand shot out from the covers and grabbed the cell that had been incessantly beeping for his attention for the last several minutes. " hello ? " amree grumbled into the receiver, eyes not even opening once - but he already knew it would be his twin on the other line.

f  —  how  do  they  handle  conflict?  

      gemma  handles  serious  conflicts  by  leaving  the  situation  and  then  ignoring  it  until  it  (  hopefully  )  goes  away...  like  the  responsible  adult  that  she  is.  for  petty  conflicts  she’ll  definitively  choose  a  side,  typically  including  a  snarky  comment  to  drive  in  the  point.  

h  —  where  is  their  favourite  place  to  be?

      these  days?  the  local  bar.  there’s  a  stool  in  the  far  right  corner  with  her  name  on  it.  engraved  and  everything.  that’s  how  often  she  frequents  the  joint  (  kidding,  of  course  ).  just  between  us,  though,  her  childhood  home  with  her  mom.  but  that’s  just  the  nostalgia  and  fourth  shot  of  tequila  talking.

x   —  what’s  their  biggest  fear?

      putting  her  trust  and  faith  in  someone  again  only  to  find  they’ve  been  lying  to  her  the  whole  time.  to  have  her  world  as  she  knew  it  shatter  before  her  eyes  from  the  deception.  once  was  enough  for  gemma.

n   —  what  are  their  hidden  talents?

      a  hidden  talent  ?  cassandra  tends  not  to  keep  much  hidden.  so  while  it’s  no  secret  that  they  are  a  serious  arts  &  crafts  person  (  honestly,  they  haven’t  met  a  diy  project  that  they  can’t  conquer  ),  but  most  people  might  not  know  their  exceptional  talent  and  love  for  woodworking.  their  home  and  studio  has  a  few  handmade  pieces  made  by  them.  it’s  not  a  secret  but  it’s  also  not  something  they  point  out  to  people.  only  when  asked.  they’d  sooner  brag  about  their  handstand  scorpion. 

p  —  what  advice  would  they  give  to  their  younger  self?

      to  little  cassie  :  parents  do  reach  a  limit  and  will  give  up  on  their  children,  so  do  your  best  not  to  get  caught  with  your  hand  in  the  cookie  jar  too  much.

v  —  what’s  their  biggest  pet  peeve?

   cassandra  really  can’t  stand  people  who  put  down  other  people’s  interests.  also  an  immediate  eye-roll  will  follow  if  someone  rags  on  a  thing  when  they  haven’t  even  tried  it.  they  don’t  believe  everyone  should  love  everything  and  can’t  opinions.  but  give  things  a  chance,  y’know?  or  at  the  very  least  if  you  don’t  even  want  to  make  an  attempt  then  don’t  shit  on  what  you  don’t  know.

      if  zoee  had  a  chance  to  redo  her  life  there’s  only  one  moment  that  she  wished  to  do  differently.  that  fateful  day  she  would  never  have  gotten  into  her  stepfather’s  car.  hell,  even  if  she  did,  she  would’ve  hung  him  out  to  dry  instead  of  aiding.  and  she  wouldn’t  do  it  for  her  sake.  she  would’ve  grown  a  backbone  then  and  not  after  the  fact.  because  of  this  one  moment’s  decision  she  didn’t  just  hurt  herself,  but  the  one  person  she  cares  for  most  in  her  life  as  well.

        eden  is  a  mess  in  the  kitchen.  she’s  a  mess  in  general,  but  add  fire  and  oil  to  that  and  it’s  just  a  disaster  zone.  at  the  very  least,  she  can  warm  things  up  without  incident.  at  most,  she  can  get  a  bit  creative  with  an  air  fryer.  though  the  results  may  vary  depending  on  difficulty.
