lois has done a few profiles here and there. but most of them are uncovering the GRIZZLY details of corrupt politicians and business leaders. she’s done positive ones too - mainly about superman but that’s EASY when he’s also your husband. ❝ don’t worry about it being profile worthy or not. me and the editors will discuss all this when i turn in my first draft. ❞ offers a small but comforting smile. she can’t jump in with the sword/shield questions yet. not now anyway. ❝ what types of astronomical phenomena ? sorry astrophysics is not my strongest subject. i figure in a world full of aliens, you studied some interesting things. ❞ 

          DARCY  LEANS  BACK  IN  THEIR  SEAT  .  “  i  wouldn’t  say  it  was  too  crazy  . ��but  then  again  ,  this  was  before  aliens  made  their  existence  known  ––  anyways  ,  ”  waves  her  hand  .  “  i  studied  mysterious  weather  events  that  could’ve  potentially  linked  to  wormholes  when  i  interned  for  doctor  selvig  and  doctor  foster  .  ”  it  still  feels  weird  addressing  one  of  her  closest  friends  professionally  .  “  that  resulted  in  the  discovery  of  norse  gods  ,  ”  she  chuckles  fondly  at  the  memory  of  tasing  thor  .  “  and  after  that  i  focused  on  school  .  eventually  got  my  phd  .  worked  at  nasa  .  got  blipped  .  came  back  from  said  blip  .  and  got  recruited  to  help  the  government  .  ”

       W .  WORTHINGTON III

“No, no that’s not what I said to do.” Warren responded, sounded tenser and tenser with every word. He pinched the bridge of his nose, pacing subconsciously outside of whatever cafe he had stopped outside of to answer his phone. “I don’t care what Jim said. Is his name outside the building? Do we work at Jim Industries?” Warren ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah he did a great job of running while I was away. But i’m not longer away, so I’m back in charge. We’ve been funding the Xavier School since I was a snot-nosed brat there, and we will continue to do so. I don’t if you noticed the huge wings on my back, but we tend to skew slightly pro-mutant here.” Warren rolled his eyes, stepping out into the sidewalk, and with a flap of his wings, started hovering about 10 feet up. “I can be over there in 3 minutes- I can see the building- No you’re good? We’re all good.” Warren rolled his eyes as he hung up his phone, landing back on the ground, and noticing the crowd that had gathered around him. “No need to crowd around, i‘m happy to take-” Warren was cut off as a woman wrapped  her arm around him, bringing him close to take a selfie “-pictures. Just watch the wings.”

          EVERY  TIME  DARCY  THINKS  they’ve  seen  it  all  ,  there  always  comes  something  else  that  comes  along  .  she  barely  has  a  moment  to  enjoy  her  coffee  before  spotting  a  sizable  crowd  forming  on  the  sidewalk  .  weaving  their  way  through  the  crowd  ,  darcy’s  eyes  trail  up  .  brows  furrow  at  the  sight  of  angel-like  wings  .  if  only  she  knew  .  next  thing  they  know  ,  darcy  is  tumbling  into  his  wings  when  someone  in  the  crowd  pushes  forward  .  “  oh  shit  i  am  so  sorry  .  ”  straightens  herself  out  .  head  turns  to  survey  the  crowd  once  more  before  they  face  the  blond  once  more  .  leaning  in  ,  “  if  you  need  help  getting  outta  here  ,  blink  twice  .  ”

          “  OH  SHIT  WA  ––  ”  the  warning  dies  as  she  watches  another  person  bump  into  the  other  woman  .  darcy  grimaces  at  the  sight  of  the  spilt  drink  .  she  turns  to  grab  some  napkins  and  hands  it  over  to  her  .  “  um  ––  just  blot  it  for  now  but  i  remember  someone  telling  me  how  dish  soap  works  if  you’re  in  a  pinch  ,  ”  darcy  offers  .  “  but  other  than  that  ,  i’ve  got  a  sweater  in  my  bag  and  i  know  of  a  dry  cleaner’s  that  just  right  around  the  corner  ?  ”

      will  note  the  other  girl's  hair  brush  against  her  cheek  :   soft  .   huh  .     “  i  think  you  need  to  take  a  chance  ,   it  won't  be  hurting  anyone  when  we  pull  it  off  ,   dontcha  think ?  ”   felicia  practically  purrs  at  the  brunette  ,   chin  landing  on  the  other's  shoulder  .   “  it's  pretty  ,   goes  perfect  with  your  eyes  .   ”   blinks  and  steps  back  with  an  easy  grin  on  her  lips  .   “  you  betcha  .  ”

          LIPS  TWIST  UP  IN  THOUGHT  .  almost  as  if  contemplating  it  .  an  astrophysicist  only  makes  so  much  !  and  maybe  darcy  does  want  to  do  an  entire  overhaul  of  their  closet  .  “  i  don’t  know  .  i’m  not  sure  .  then  again  ,  i’m  not  SUPER  knowledgeable  when  it  comes  to  fashion  .  i  just  stick  to  simpler  things  ,  ”  they  hum  ,  eyes  flickering  to  the  other  .  “  you  think  so  ?  never  really  gave  it  much  thought  .  glasses  and  all  .  ”

“  so you’re an astrophysicist  ?  ”  liv asks  ,  pleased to meet a fellow scientist even if they’re not from the same branch of study as her  .  “  not my area  ,  but i had a colleague who was really stuck into methods of space travel once  .  ”  she was always too busy with her work on the super-collider  ,  and her dabbling in mechanical engineering  ,  to get into astrophysics  .  “  wish they had  ,  but alas  ,  all i could find was an address  .  not even an email or phone number  .  ”

          “  THAT  I  AM  !  ”  she  grins  at  the  older  woman  .  “  doctor  darcy  lewis  ,  ”  extends  their  hand  out  .  “  i  think  your  colleague  might  have  a  fun  time  with  that  here  .  we’ve  got  aliens  and  more  now  ,  ”  they  facetiously  jest  .  “  but  listen  i’m  always  glad  to  meet  another  woman  in  stem  .  quantum  physics  is  seriously  no  joke  .  if  this  quantum  physics  club  doesn’t  exist  ,  i  say  we  just  start  our  own  physics  club  .  ”

          HEAD  TILTS  TO  THE  SIDE  .  “  hmm  ,  i  don’t  really  think  it’s  my  style  .  ”  they  tap  their  index  finger  against  her  chin  .  the  blonde  whispers  like  a  devil  on  their  shoulders  .  and  it’s  kind  of  urging  darcy  to  possibly  go  for  it  .  “  i  technically  have  been  thinking  of  trying  something  new  .  ”  but  the  overhaul  of  new  clothes  never  seemed  worth  it  .  turns  to  face  felicia  .  “  is  this  gonna  be  a  less  i  know  the  better  kind  of  take  care  of  it  ?  ”

          there’s    a    slight    step    to    the    side    at    another    person’s    approach    ,    but    she    falls    back    into    step    in    recovery    from    the    potential    threat    of    being    yelled    at    for    her    actions.        “     oh    ,    darcy    !    thank    god.     ”        she    sighs    in    relief    ,    slowing    her    pace    so    that    the    other    could    keep    up.    tandy    takes    only    a    second    to    glance    back    at    the    damage    before    a    laugh    is    falling    from    her    lips.        “     they    just    existed.    that’s    what    they    did.     ”        head    shakes    ,    but    she    glances    darcy’s    way    once    again    with    a    smile.        “     i    thought    you    were    the    cops    again.     ”

          WAITS  FOR  THE  BLONDE  TO  REACT  .  it’s  none  of  her  business  what  tandy  does  in  her  spare  time  .  and  they’re  certain  that  roxxon  had  it  coming  anyways  !  “  okay  wow  a  little  offended  that  you  think  i’d  be  the  cops  ,  ”  they  jokes  .  were  cops  even  relevant  in  a  world  filled  with  superheroes  ?  darcy  doesn’t  think  so  .  “  so  long  as  you  weren’t  caught  on  camera  then  you  should  be  fine  .  although  ,  maybe  you  should’ve  staked  out  the  car  to  make  sure  no  sketchy  employee  slashes  the  last  tire  to  claim  insurance  money  ,  anyways  ––  ”  shakes  her  head  .  “  any  plans  for  the  rest  of  the  day  ?  ”

❝ you’ve worked for nasa right ? or continue to work for ? ❞ truth be told, she’s not really sure nor is she here ( well completely ) about nasa. someone told her if she wants answer about this universe, this ‘ darcy lewis ‘ might be able to help. ❝ what was that like ? profile for the bugle. ❞

          SHE’S  A  LITTLE  SURPRISED  to  hear  that  a  journalist  wants  to  do  a  profile  on  her  .  granted  ,  they  think  it’s  a  nice  change  of  pace  from  being  contacted  by  the  government  for  some  confidential  project  .  usually  for  sword  or  shield  .  “  i  don’t  work  for  nasa  anymore  .  i  did  for  a  brief  period  after  i  graduated  from  my  phd  program  .  but  that  got  kinda  complicated  thanks  to  the  blip  ,  ”  rolls  her  eyes  when  they  say  this  .  “  i  don’t  know  if  it’s  profile  worthy  but  i  enjoyed  my  time  at  nasa  .  mostly  consists  of  studying  the  physical  and  chemical  properties  of  astronomical  phenomena  ––  and  a  lot  of  laugh  .  ”

         "  grocery  delivery  is  the  best  thing  that  happened  to  this  world  ,   sorry  the  avengers  -  “   but  she's  not  too  emotionally  attached  to  them  anyways  .   it  was  what  it  was  .  "  hey !  you  need  food  to  live  .   i'd  say  we're  very  valid  in  spending  all  our  credit  on  food  .  ”

          “  NO  YOU’RE  RIGHT  SO  don’t  apologize  for  it  !  ”  they  laugh  .  aside  from  thor  ,  darcy  doesn’t  have  an  attachment  to  the  earth’s  mightiest  heroes  .  “  we  are  valid  for  spending  all  our  money  on  food  ––  correction  ,  good  food  .  and  i’ll  be  honest  ,  trader  joe’s  frozen  food  is  also  pretty  good  for  someone  who  can  barely  cook  .  ”
