Introducing Featured Articles: our new way to reward editors and promote cool stuff on the Project Arrhythmia Wiki!

Every other week, the PA wiki will post an article on social media and its main page. And here's the fun part: you can help us pick them!

Featured articles are chosen at random from a set of submissions. Editors can submit one article a month, as long as they have at least 10 edits on articles unrelated to their own custom levels in the past month. The only requirement for the article itself is that it's completed.

Hi everyone, this post will probably be pretty long and might be upsetting to some, so please don’t read it if you feel like you aren’t equipped to. I’ll try to cover everything about the situation in this, some people know a lot of what happened but some people don’t know anything, so please bear with me.

TL;DR: Lumin is no longer working on Project Elevatia, I will be taking over TCM to continue the story of CC, but the actual story won’t change. Please don’t bother him or anyone else about it, but feel free to contact me if you have questions.

(Also, I’m sorry this took a while to post. I wanted to get this out as soon as possible but in general this was just really difficult to write. I really want to avoid making this post seem hostile. This whole ordeal happened at an absolutely terrible time for me since my finals are next month and everything’s been really stressful to deal with. Huge thanks to DXL, Nick and Amee for helping me with proofreading this.)

This is NOT intended to be a callout post, and the absolute last thing I want is for people to go harass Lumin after reading this, or make rude comments regarding him. The reason I am describing everything in such detail in this post is because it’d be unfair to leave everyone in the dark, and I want to give people all the answers they want without them having to feel like they have to reach out to people involved to get the full story. With that being said, if you’re confused and want more explanation, please feel free to contact me directly as I don’t mind.

Note that out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be posting screenshots of stuff that happened. Also, to be clear, Lumin knows that I am making this post to inform everyone.

Luminescence is leaving Crystalline Chaos/Project Elevatia and will no longer be working on The Crystal Monarchy. He has already left the FORGED/CC discord community a few days ago. This is a choice that he made on his own, and he has willingly transferred the ownership of TCM and all the characters in it to me. He stated directly that he felt trapped having to commit to continuing the story, and transferring it is not something that he was pressured into doing. (If he hadn’t wanted to do this I would have tried to figure out some way to rewrite everything to make sense without TCM, but I appreciate that he cooperated here as it means we will be able to continue TCM and follow his original plan for the story without having to make any big changes to it or CC as a whole.)

Without getting too specific, for the past few years, Lumin has been repeatedly starting drama and venting in the PA channels in the FORGED/CC discord server, often resulting in people getting worked up and emotionally drained. Furthermore, he consistently insisted on giving unsolicited and often harsh criticism regarding people’s creations, which at times basically became plain insults that were hurtful to some members. A mixture of all of this has made several members in the server feel uncomfortable enough to leave on separate occasions.

We had warned him some time ago that if he continued this behaviour he would be temporarily muted until he could calm down, and a few days ago this happened. This wouldn’t have been a big deal, but shortly after this he reacted by going to a public discord server and complaining there. He claimed that we were forcing him not to stay in the server and continue working on TCM, despite the fact that we have told him directly many times before that this is not the case, and that he is free to do whatever with TCM he wants to. Not only this, but he also outright admitted there that he was being horrible intentionally in the hopes of being kicked out of the FORGED/CC server.

There have been countless times where we have tried to help Lumin in every way possible. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I used to know how it felt to be in some of the situations he was in. I have pushed away people I care about or said things I deeply regret as well. And I know that he has autism and as a result struggles with black and white thinking, however this isn’t an excuse for all his behaviour.

Above all I want to apologise to everyone how I handled this situation. This cycle of Lumin causing drama in the server has been going on for the better part of 3 years, and looking back I didn’t resolve it in the best way. Mostly because I wanted to give Lumin a chance to learn why his actions were wrong and try to make up for his mistakes, and believed that he wouldn’t get any better if we didn’t show him that we would support him, and I do feel that he has made some improvements. But after letting him get away with the same thing repeatedly, ultimately, him breaking the trust of the people who have been trying to help him for so long is just something I can’t accept.

I want to make this clear - please do NOT go and contact Lumin after reading this, do not go and harass him, do not make negative comments about him, etc. I and others feel that he seems to need space right now. This is just our opinion, it’s up to you to heed our advice or not, but we strongly recommend against talking to him about the situation or trying to convince him not to leave as he has already made his decision, and bothering him about it won’t help anyone. We feel that he needs a break from the internet in general, as he has internalised and echoed so many opinions that are consistently unhealthy and/or hurtful to himself and others.

To my friends & the server members who were hurt by Lumin, I’m really sorry if back then it felt like I was choosing Lumin over you, and I’m sorry for handling the situation the way that I did.

WHAT’S HAPPENING TO CRYSTALLINE CHAOS/THE CRYSTAL MONARCHY

Since Lumin has given TCM and its characters to me, I will do my best to finish it. The two of us had planned out the entire story together for years before this, so I’m mostly confident that I can more or less execute his original vision, maybe with some minor changes and help from other creators as I’m not quite at his skill level. So Crystalline Chaos shouldn’t change too much, aside from the new videos possibly being uploaded to my channel. We hope you can still enjoy the story regardless.

I want to be clear that I have no ill will against Lumin and I genuinely hope he gets better in the future, and that he can return to creating with a healthier outlook, but it should not be my or anyone else’s responsibility to ensure that.

Wiki post: Have you ever called a Project Arrhythmia custom level a "fanon level" in your life? No? Well, the wiki did for some reason. We're renaming the category to be a name that people actually use.

That's not the only category update we're doing, though! You can expect collections to have their own main-space pages soon instead of being shifted to categories. This means that the page "Another World" will now actually show info like this, rather than redirecting to "Category:Another World". This is mostly just cleaner titles but it should also help with things like page count statistics, random pages, and editors making links. The old categories will still exist, just purely functioning as a category.

You can see more about the category overhaul here. We may also be renaming categories for community content. The ones that start with "Fanon". Which, yknow, is a term nobody else but the wiki has used as well.

yeah, i guess that's different. i was thinking both can be described as "massively popular fan-work that has drastically influenced many other fan-works for this thing". but at the same time there's plenty of people in the PA community who aren't fans of black heart's almost total overshadowing of everything else even years after its gone quiet, which is at least sorta similar as far as reputation goes. we still look forward to it though lol
