ROSA’S RITUAL BATHS ;

If you’re a long-time follower of mine, you already  know  that baths are a very important and personal self-care activity that Rosa partakes in. I’ve always considered it just something she enjoyed, just some alone time dedicated to herself with steaming water filled with fresh-cut flora and basking in her countless soaks, salts, in-bath lotions and other products, but I hadn’t yet connected the power of ritualizing the baths with her spellwork. ( I should have earlier tbh as a pagan myself, but I just hadn’t considered her using it to  prepare  for a hard night of working in her dark arts rather than  relaxing  after one. )  I had known they were special & powerful in their own way to her, but I hadn’t really considered the depth or reason why.

Baths can be a huge aspect of witchcraft when utilized properly as dedicated, power-boosting rituals. What a perfect bath does for lifting someone up who doesn’t practice is practically TENFOLD for a focused witch using it as a sacred private ceremony. The mindfulness of it all changes the way it effects you from just relaxing & getting clean to a concentrated dedication of what you need.

Every single time I watch Scrubs and Jordan Sullivan/Cox comes on screen, this scene from Parks just plays over & over in my head re: Rosa & Jordan.

Rosa and her mother never got along very well but dear lord is Jordan from Scrubs the tongue-lashing, snippy, self-interested badass lover-girl she's always wanted in a motherly figure. Jordan is essentially Rosa minus the magic, wallowing in self-pity & daddy-issues. Like if she stopped whining about life for five minutes and stopped caring what people thought about her as much, she would be exactly like Jordan.

She would have LOVED to have Jordan for a mom. What a QUEEN.
