Maia was taking a much needed break from both jobs to read over a script they were sent for an audition.  They were highlighting lines, mostly minding their own business when the man next to them speaks. It takes Maia a moment, first, they look around, to see if he’s talking to someone else, and then when they realize he’s not, they listen to the song, and beats after that, they realize what song it is.  Finally, their gaze tracks back to the man next to them and Maia’s eyebrows go up “okay the was the humblest humble brag I’ve ever heard,” they say with laughter in their voice “if it helps it’s not your worst.”

Part of Adam wanted to be surprised when he was recognized but he was talking to himself out loud while his own song was playing. This obviously put quite the spotlight on him so he just smiled and shrugged. “Of course it’s not the worst. Those never made it out to the public. But still, its hard not to cringe when your high school ‘deep’ thoughts are blaring out of the speakers for everyone to hear,” he stated putting air-quotes around the word ‘deep.’ This was anything but deep. It was embarrassing.

Ellie was almost relieved when he confirmed that yes, it was him on the recording, because otherwise that would have been even more embarrassing. In fact she didn’t even mind that his smile had dropped, as much as she hated to make him upset if it wasn’t a good thing for her to draw his attention to. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to, the question would have just eaten away at me if I didn’t go ahead and ask it. I’m Ellison by the way, you can call me Ellie though.” The blonde introduced herself with a a friendly smile, determined to keep hers up even if his had evaporated. “You’re talented, I loved this song.”

Although he tended to shy away from the spotlight these days, he couldn’t help but preen when she called him talented. “Thanks. I like to think I got a lot better over the years though. For one thing, I stopped singing about epic love stories that I’ve never experienced.” A chuckle accompanied his words. It was funny how a single compliment could totally change his demeanour. This was a fan after all. He couldn’t go on acting like a jerk around her. “It’s nice to meet you Ellie, I’m Adam but I’m sure you already know that.”

“It’s alright, I just…thought you were talking to me.” Ellison replied in her southern lilt, going a little pink and warm around the base of her neck that she had gotten involved in someone’s day when they hadn’t even been speaking to her. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to get involved.” A small smile in his direction as she took another sip of her tea, nodding. “Hold on a second…” The blonde paused, because now with the same song still playing over the speaker in the cafe she was starting to feel like the man in front of her had some connection to it, which would explain his strong opinions. “You…sorry if this is a really dumb question, but is this you? In the song I mean.”

"Don’t worry about it,” Adam replied, airily waving off her concern. “I should’ve probably kept my opinions to myself.” He had a bad habit of vocalizing his thoughts when there was no real need to.  --The easy smile on his face instantly dropped when the woman seemed to recognize him. He shouldn’t have been surprised but he had hoped that he could go a day without being noticed. Apparently it was too much to hope for. “Kinda. It was a dumb seventeen year old version of me.” There was no reason to lie at this point.

Taking another sip of her tea Ellison almost jumped out of her skin when the man next to her started speaking, not because it was particularly loud, but more because she had been so in her own world. Looking over with a delicate frown between her eyebrows she shook her head. “I…didn’t choose this one, I think the coffee shop just has a playlist or something…”She murmured back to him, not entirely sure why he was so averse to the song that was currently playing, she’d heard it before, it was actually a pretty good one.

Adam hadn’t expected anyone to hear him. He was really just mumbling to himself so when he heard a distinctly feminine voice respond to him, a part of him wanted to jump. He somehow managed to keep his composure though and just shot the blonde a smile. “Sorry, I was talking to myself. I tend to do that,” he stated, scratching the back of his head in an embarrassed manner. “I’m also really opinionated when it comes to music.”

“I’m sure a couple of the bankers know you from one profession or the other,” Adam offered with a grin. “People need to blow off stress somehow right? Strip clubs and drugs certainly help me out when I’m feeling stressed.” 

“You know, my favorite part of going to the bank is handing over a big wad of cash and them jokingly asking ‘are you a stripper or a drug dealer?’” Vic grinned, tucking a strand of brunette locks behind her ear. “And I just smile and say ‘both’ just to watch them try and figure out if I’m joking or not.”

Adam stopped people-watching for a moment as the song coming from the speakers changed. He knew this song. He knew this song very well and he wasn’t the biggest fan. “Why’d they have to choose this one? It wasn’t even one of our good ones,” he muttered to nobody in particular. Adam had written this particular song earlier in his career and although it was popular, it was kind of embarrassing for him to hear it now.

“I’d say probably not but then again, I’ve got a whole lifetime before I get that old so don’t take my opinion too seriously,” Adam replied with little shrug before mimicking her action and popping his own fry into his mouth. “An invite to the pity party would’ve been nice though,” he teased.

“Is it normal to cry into three bottles of wine on your thirtieth birthday?” Fallon asked, popping a french fry into her mouth. “That’s totally not how I spent my weekend after the LUX Gala, if that’s what you’re wondering.”

⇢ i swear i just saw AVAN JOGIA out on the streets but it turned out to be ADAM AHMED. HE was born on DECEMBER 21ST, 1996 making them only 23 years old. They’re known to be +QUICK-WITTED +CREATIVE and -IRRITABLE -EGOTISTICAL. They spend most of their time being a MUSICIAN. Rumour has it they’re HETEROSEXUAL, and can be found in DTLA. You know you’ve found them when you come across DARK SUNGLASSES, BLACK COFFEE AND A ROOM FULL OF INSTRUMENTS.

Yo yo yoey, I’m Azzy and this is my main man Adam. I've never fully gotten a chance to explore this character (not for lack of trying) so I’m desperate to have him blossom here! 

Adam’s childhood could be described as exceptionally normal. Like the dictionary definition of normal. He had two loving parents who got divorced when he was in his teens, he had a few close friends, he did okay in school and he liked to play video games - all in all, boringly normal.

When he was in middle school, Adam started a garage band with his three best friends. At first it was all about having fun with the boys but eventually, they realized that they were actually pretty good.

By the time he graduated high school, the band had been ‘discovered’ and the band’s first album took the world by storm

The band very quickly adapted to the rockstar life and they got quite infamous for their wild shows and wilder parties

DRUGS AND DEATH TW - eventually the incessant partying caught up with the band and their lead singer passed away from a heroine overdose just weeks after the band released their third album

losing their best friend completely killed the morale of the group and although they tried to make do without him for a little while, the band eventually decided to call it quits

about a month after his best friend/bandmate’s death, Adam and the bandmate’s girlfriend/fiancee/w.e slept together due to shared grief. Adam feel like a horrible person for this and he’s never really gotten over it or forgiven himself

afterwards, the members of the band started to get caught up in their own controversies - with Adam getting arrested for a drunken bar fight

after that, he decided to take some time away from the spotlight and focus on himself

right now, he’s pretty ashamed of his past but he’s not completely over being the irresponsible man-child he was

“On a scale of one to ten, probably a six or a seven,” he answered with a shrug. He’d gotten worse injuries over the years but it certainly didn’t feel good. “It was a rum and coke... It’s not gonna hurt is it? I’m very delicate.” 

He nodded and started to clean it out. “How’s the pain?” He asked him as he pulled little peaces of glass. “Also what kind of drink did you have? We might have to flush the wound with peroxide if you had something mixed in it.”

Violet took a sip from her cocktail, her gaze moving across the room until she spotted a familiar face across the way. She couldn’t quite place it for a minute and she couldn’t figure out why his expression was one of what seemed to be dread until she heard the song that was blaring through the room. Then it all clicked and with a flip of her silky raven colored hair and a smirk she headed over to him. “I mean…it’s not total trash. Definitely not your best but, a classic nonetheless.” She giggled, tilting her head to the side with amusement.

It took a lot of willpower for Adam not to squeal in surprise but somehow, he managed to keep himself composed. “Well I’m glad that you approve of my dumb thoughts about romance as a seventeen year old,” he stated with a chuckle. “And I guess I don’t really need to introduce myself do I?”

He looked over at the man and then at his hand and laughed a little. “I think you’ll make it but come let me clean it up and we can see if you need stitches.” He replied as he patted the table before getting his tray ready. “How did you cut you hand?” He asked.

Adam gingerly laid his hand on the table that was specified before shrugging at the man’s question. “You know, I’m not totally sure. It happened really quickly but I think a drunk guy bumped into me which caused me to smash my drink into the table and well...” He trailed off again and raised his hand.

“I’ve found myself asking that question a few times over the years,” Adam muttered, more to himself than to her before giving her a smile. “Even if it seems like a shit idea, it’s good to go with your instincts. Maybe it’ll be a surprise hit.” None of Adam’s popular songs were any of his favourites so he learned very early to go with the flow. 

     “WHY IN THE almighty bloody fuck did i even pick this song.” fingers mussed hair from one side of her head to the next as lenore squinted at the sheet music. it was an original piece, one she’d worked on years ago but never debuted, and now, it was like a ghost, haunting her every move. it was imperfect. not good enough for public consumption. yet here she was in preparation, at the ready. | @ecstasyimport​
