Hi! I already have a singer AU for Dom & Mor!

I actually really love music industry stories lol, and I WILL ramble so under a readmore it goes

Mor is a lesser known US singer who occassionally releases an indie album or EP, but primarily makes a living by selling songs and recording the demos for the artists who buy them. She wants to keep more of her songs, but she also doesn't want to deal with the anxiety of being a famous singer, so generally she's happy where she is

After an especially bad breakup with a guitarist of an underground rockband, several of Mor's songs get bought by a kpop group who want her involvement on their next comeback. She's asked to help advise on vocalization, as well as making sure the translation from English to Korean lyrics is smooth. So! Morgan Chambers goes on an anxiety-ridden business trip to S Korea

(Mor's career is based on singer/songwriters like RAYE and Skylar Grey, with an early Brandy kind of voice)

Dom is the youngest member of a girl-crush concept band; she's the maknae, visual, and lead vocalist. She was scouted in high school, and the money and dorming situation helped her escape her toxic family situation, so she's been throwing herself into her idol career. She dropped out of school and ended up taking multiple jobs under her agency (singing, shows, modeling, you name it, she was there)

Dom is currently going through a bit of burnout that she doesn't realize, but the latest song demos the group received have her feeling unusually excited. She develops an oblivious crush on the demo singer, and since her English is the best, she jumps at the idea of being the Most Involved with this mysterious songwriter coming from America.

(Dom's style for both singing and performing is heavily based on Hwang Minghyun of Nu'est. She's just the girl version of him lol)

As a bonus, here's a poster I sketched of Dom's band. I still haven't named them, and i'm debating using my other characters as the cameo members for this AU LOLLL but when I tell yall I love music industry stories....

Hi! Hum, I really need to know, will there ever be prints of Dom&Mor? If not, how much would be fair payment for printing myself a personal copy? I was thinking 30 per "volume" but dollars arent my currency so I might be off. plus the extra it'd be 40 per volume but I need permission first, and I might occasionally lend it to others to recommand your work ig? It's been a huuuuuge huge want for uuh a year I think but I hadn't dared asking, I hope it's appropriate!

Hello!! Sorry this is from a while ago, I've been bad about checking my inbox 😭

But I do plan to print Dom&Mor volumes!! I had a setback and have been unable to find time to try again, but it's something that I am definitely looking into! I can't control your actions but I would prefer if people don't sell their own versions of the comic. The quality would be bad anyway because I only upload lowres online (even my patreon is low res)

At the moment I have no idea how much each volume will cost, but I am hoping to keep them under $20 per volume!

I share Black artists who design characters on a regular basis on here, friend! So really I'd follow the page and follow the people that you see draw Black characters. Before it was ever brought to the screen, Frankenstein was extremely popular on the melodramatic stage and was adapted numerous times over the course of the 19th century. Something that struck me about these adaptations is that they often set the story in more typically gothic historicized settings with characters dressed as if they're on the Shakespearean stage. Frankenstein's use of science is therefore replaced with esoteric Renaissance alchemy, often interpolating elements of Faust into his character. This vindicates Frankenstein's obsession with Renaissance alchemists like Albertus Magnus and Paracelsus that he's ridiculed for in the novel, though I'm not sure how intentional this was as many of the plays seem to copy eachother rather than drawing on the original text. Nevertheless, I was really inspired by this shift in time period so here's my take on a Renaissance Fankenstein making his homunculus. I ended up choosing the 17th century which is on the tail end of the Renaissance (I know some people don't even count it) but there were still alchemists in the period like Johann Konrad Dippel (who some people think Mary Shelley took inspiration from for the novel but girl I don't know if I agree with that). I also want to shout out the silent film of Frankenstein from 1910 in which the creature seems to be baking in a kiln as part of the creation scene?? The decentering of scientific advancements and interpolation of the Faust myth into these adaptations definitely shifted the thematic focus of the story. It's not until 20th century adaptations that contemporary science returns to the narrative.
