Final Corrupted Magazine Mockup
Above is my final Corrupted magazine mock-up. When describing the magazine as a whole, I would say its catastrophic, but in a creative way, not in the negative aspect at all. When I say catastrophic, I mean, the fact how a lot of its edited, I sense a spooky presence when I look through my pages, but that's exactly what I wanted it to turn out like, abnormal, against the norm, basically what a dystopia society and what dystopia means. When projecting out the theme of Dystopia, I personally I done that to a high standard. An audience wouldn't look at my magazine, and believe that its pretty and flamboyant, I want there eyes to be drawn in and confused about what's going on throughout the magazine.
Front Cover: When creating the front cover, I wanted to place the logo spread through the whole page, but then turn the opacity down so it doesn't stand out so much and take over the edit that I want to show of to an audience. The edit is so saturated and it stands out quite a lot within the other pages of the magazine, I had to use it as my front cover, to initially draw an audience eyes in.
Pages 2&3: These pages were taken from an outdoor shoot that I took not long ago. The 2nd page is just simple, projecting the image as a whole, with a black and white filter, and grain added to it. The 3rd page is my edit of that exact photo, Its inspired by an editor I found on tumblr, the piece is called ‘ Lost In Nothingness’. The idea that I'm trying to present is, that a dystopia life would mess with your head, and leave you lost. I want my audience to see straight away that its the same man just repeating itself, reflecting the corrupted sight of a Dystopia society.
.Pages 4&5: I created an at home photo shoot, producing my own backdrop using, large amounts of red paper, and my phone camera. The whole shoot was inspired by Fashion Photographer Valentine Giacobetti, who I discovered In British VOGUE October 2020 issue. I didn’t want to create a visually pleasing photo shoot, I wanted to recreate the Idea of dystopia, by having my outfit exactly match the backdrop, which would make a reader feel fascinated about my pieces, but more especially about my poses, which were out of the ordinary, and props used, for example I wrapped some fake black cobwebs round my body, to maybe trigger an audience member who is afraid of spiders, and make them feel uncomfortable for the duration of them looking through my magazine.
Pages 6&7: Both of these pages a edits produced on Adobe Photoshop. I placed them next to each other, as they are both black and whit and contrast each other very well. Page 5 is from my outdoor photo shoot, I took a picture of my model standing in the trees, to create a mysterious effect, as Dystopia, sort of produces the un known, as a dystopia society is represented to be so backward. Then I edited it to be black and white with high saturation, then continued to liquefy the face. The edit crates the theme of Dystopia, as its very dark and twisted, maybe a bit disturbing to look at, and hopefully for an audience, it will be uncomfortable to visually take in. For the 7th page I am going for the exact same effect, I want my audience to take one look at it, and be confused about how I created that and even thought of the idea, of such a disturbing photo. So both pages link with the theme as they create a disturbing and corrupt atmosphere, which generally what Dystopia is.
Pages 8&9: When analysing all of my edits and photos for this magazine I realised that I wanted to show of my ability with choosing and placing text. I created a larger text with symbolising the name of the magazine. Then placed being was a definition of dystopia, and many words and stories behind dystopia.
Pages 10&11: Both pages are from the same photo shoot, using a projector and coloured liquefied text created on Adobe Photoshop. When I created this edit I wanted to state the idea of my model currently being sucked into the dystopia society, and now witnessing the reality of Dystopia for the first time. I made both photos very high contrast, to make it appeal less realistic to an audience, and create more of an effect where the model could become this odd being, that is only alive in a dystopia society.
Pages 12&13: These two pages are probably my favorite from the magazine. They were taken during a colour gel shoot. Both of them are edited to create a spine-chilling effect when looking at the pieces. There is not necessarily an inspiration for these pieces, I initially had wrapped in my head what I wanted to create and produce, as I got my head more wrapped around the theme. I knew up-close red colour gel shots would come out the most successful, as I would describe them as the most dystopian outcomes i could have gotten. It relates to dystopia, because I have made the model pull non-flattering faces and poses, to create this un appealing dystopian universe through her body.
Pages 14&15: I included these two as my last double page spread, so both of my colour gel outcomes are next to each other, to carry on the theme, and the products of that lesson. It is very similar to the pages above, in the fact that they are edited in the same way, and shot at the same location. But I created a different layout with white boarders, to let the photos breath, and not fill the whole page, because that technique has been quite repetitive throughout this magazine. I would hope an reader would look at these pages, and maybe believe that they are presented as torturous, both models are having there faces stretched and pushed about, creating the idea that they are being man handled by the dystopian society to try and fit in, but the reality of it is too much.
Back Cover: Every single page was filled with models body's and faces, which is perfectly normal, but i just wanted to reflect one body part in atleast one of my pages. I decided to get one of my models, and make him do different movements with his hand. I love how the colour gels are reflecting of the hand from multiple directions in multiple colours. It signifies the hand pointing you out the dystopian community, which shows its the end of the magazine, hopefully pointing out to an audience, that they have escaped the Dystopian universe, and finally back to reality.

Outdoor photoshoot contact sheets
Presented above me is every single outcome from the outdoor dystopian photoshoot. As a whole I would say that it was one of the most positive, and affective photoshoots i have completed. I say this, because I will be using a lot of them within my magazine, so readers will sense the fact that I thought positively about this shoot, by using multiple in my magazine. A lot of the photoshoot was shot in a very woody and murky area, which creates the dark dystopian atmosphere, which i was hoping to create while taking the photos. The outcomes taken near the darker areas surrounded by the trees was the most effective, as it created a more darker and scarier atmosphere, which is what I wanted to create within the theme of Dystopia.

Favourite Outcomes from Outdoor Dystopia Shot
Here are my favourite outcomes from my Outdoor Photoshoot lesson. When choosing locations on this shoot I decided to go for more dark and murky backgrounds, first of all because it fitted very well with the theme of dystopia, and also for me if the back grounds are more simple and ark it makes the whole editing process 100 times easier because I can focus more on the foreground and the model, instead of the background. My models wore simple colours on there clothes so it wasn’t to bright, as that’s the opposite from what I was trying to create. My favourite shots are the close up ones, as they bring out a lot more experimentation for me for editing, as they are a lot easier to produce an edit with.

Colour Pen Shoot
In this Lesson we experimented with colour pens. To produce these photos you need to set your camera to a slow shutter speed. We took the photos in the darkroom to get a pitch black background for the pens to stand out more. All you have to do is wave the pens in any motion. In the future I'm not sure if ill carry on using this technique in my work as I don’t really like the outcomes.

Colour Gel Research/Inspo
I sourced all of these images off of Pinterest. When looking for inspiration for my colour gel photography, I was looking fro the most dramatic outcomes, also the pieces, with masses of variety of tones, as I wanted to create a piece which, included a variety of tones, almost looking unreal.

Colour Gels lesson part 3
In this Lesson We Used Colour Gels over the lights in the photography studio. I wanted just simple colours such as Red and Blue, and i belive they make the most impact when shown on a person, and i wanted to created the most unrealistic and corrupted outcomes, to present my themes of dystopia

The Color Show Research
When researching the colors show, it definitely inspired with my colour palettes in my photoshoots, for example when I used the colour gels I made sure my model was wearing clothes that were more generic, to compliment the colour a lot more. This tightly links to the theme of dystopia in a way of fashion, and by that I mean, the way the artists are complimented with the background, in dystopian fashion, the colours are very blocky and have to compliment each other to give a full affect of a dystopian lifestyle.

GARETH PUGH ALTERNATIVE STYLING CONTACT SHEET
Here is every single outcome from my alternative styling photo shoot. I did not like the outcome from majority of my photos. I believe this, because I feel like I could have endured and put more effort into the making of the garments. The photos turned out satisfactory, its just the product of the clothes rally makes the photos' less appealing to use for my work. In the future if I do another alternative styling lesson, I will put more effort into the garment as a whole and not how quickly I can get the task done.

Gustav Klimt
Gustav Klimt was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects, many of which are on display in the Vienna Secession gallery. Klimt's primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism--nowhere is this more apparent than in his numerous drawings in pencil. My favourite piece of his is ‘the kiss’, it’s a foil inspired piece which includes different tones and styles of foil, to create one beautiful piece.

With Another Magazine, it inspired me very much for my Insparation for this Dystopia project. In dystopian fashion the pieces and garments are usually very big and over exaggerated, which I believe some of these covers for this magazine reiterates, for example the Alexander McQueen front cover, the women basically signifies dystopia from by being against the norm. When I look at that front cover I feel very uncomfortable yet mesmerised, by that I mean, its horrible to look at but you cannot take your eyes off because of how extravagant it is.
