The History of LEGO Bricks
Tumblr media
The origins of Lego can be traced back to Denmark. A Danish toy production company called Lego A/S, based in Billund, produces a famous line of toys, Lego bricks, consisting of interlocking plastic blocks. The LEGO Group has developed several retail stores and amusement parks worldwide. In addition, it has produced various LEGO products, including the famous "Duplos," which is a version of the renowned building toy.
The LEGO Group was established in 1934 and has since expanded and updated its range of products. The company is so successful, it employs over four hundred people, and in 1949, it became the first Danish company to own its own plastic injection molding machine. In 1947, Lego adapted a British toy called Kiddicraft Self-Locking Building Bricks for its line of playthings. The bricks had hollow bottoms and pegs on top, allowing children to lock the pieces together and build elaborate structures.
The company produces Lego bricks in several locations around the world. Some companies that make Lego bricks include Billund, Denmark, Nyiregyhaza, Hungary, Monterrey, Mexico, Jiaxing, China, and Singapore. The Lego Group has produced 400 billion Lego blocks over the last five decades. Its production capacity amounted to around 36 billion bricks per year. The company also claims to make one element of the toy every second.
The company grew from six employees to forty within just a few years. It also continued to innovate throughout its growth, and in 1944 it developed the first programmable brick. The name of the robotic line came from a paper that Seymour Papert wrote in 1947. It was named after his work on constructionism, a theory of education that the company supported. The LEGO Mindstorms line results from this innovation and a long list of improvements.
Three major parts are used; the first part is the baseplate; it is a thin plate with no connections at the bottom and studs on the surface. This plate will be used as the base of the structure. The baseplates are crucial to the creation of LEGO bricks. The plastics used to make the pieces are solid and durable and are produced with the utmost care.
In addition to creating models, LEGO bricks are also manufactured for other purposes. Many of the toys are made of ABS, a thermoplastic polymer. It is used to create various objects and can be made into many shapes and sizes. This makes them perfect for a variety of purposes, including making robots. They also make great gifts for children. In addition to being an excellent gift for kids, these bricks can be used as a tool.
