Feeling sooooo many complicated timeshrine/time compression feelings about corin oh my god

Mostly what I'm at rn is like. Ok I'm thinking about the first corin who went in the time shrine (I'm at the spot where corin talks to his future self) or actually I suppose for that matter every corin who gets a blank future like . Profound + unfathomable heartbreak about their UNKNOWN loneliness. Feeling truly deranged about corin having to figure it out by himself which to be entirely fair he still frequently does that and it's a kind of heartbreak thats like I know he could have it easier but corin himself doesn't necessarily know that / need that. When ur in it ur in it. But he could just be a kid instead, he could've just been twenty and stupid and worried about who was taking him to the dance.

Similarly the idea that (and I don't think this will quite happen exactly BC the others are currently also in time compression/have been in time compression so far) corin & Sera could be in that shrine for the next thirty, forty, fifty years. For all intents and purposes if Anabelle is to be believed the time compression would make c&s older but now that they're in it it's clear that not all the time compression works the same way (as in, there's future and past challenges both, slowing time down and speeding it up) so what if they were in that shrine and for them it felt like months and it was harrowing because they would wonder how much older they'll feel than their friends and if they could ever bridge the gap again except then they come out and IDK Patrick has seven children who already have children and mara has passed of old age and the world is so different and they're still only twenty

Like again that isn't going to happen so these are baseless thoughts but time compression is such a huge thing to consider OUGH.

And for that matter what about Sera because I think it's so funny the book is split up in corin/Jin/marapatrick pov but it's Sera who I really need to be knowing about right now, where is she? How is her shrine going? What if the truly horrible thing that happens is corin being stuck in the shrine for years and years and years and for Sera he was there, gone then back again in only a blip. Or vice versa, what if Sera becomes an old woman and meanwhile corin has been having a tea with his future self. I think what Gets Me about AA every time is just how unfair the world is
